Easy solution to all this risk assessment. Why not ask KNC to list payment through Bitpay?

Because Paypal funded by a creditcard is a far more sensible option for buyer protection. Bitpay offers none.

P.S. first hand, I had coins refunded by Bitpay by a fraudulent supplier that they listed. Got a personal email from Tony and within 48 hours had my BTC returned.

I've just looked on their site and watched their promo vid. Plenty of protection for the seller and no chargebacks, nothing mentioned aside protecting from identity theft for the buyer, certainly no payment protection that I can see, unless you can post proof otherwise?

Peace buddy. I'm interested in buying the Saturn from KNC miner as well, and threw up Bitpay as a possible solution for discussion.

I know I'm a new member, but no need to come down so hard.

As for posting proof here is the text of the email from Tony, minus my real name and email address

"we can send you a refund. We have cancelled their merchant account.

please provide a bitcoin address where we can send the bitcoins back to you.

This was for for a dumb mistake trying to buy from this website  (http://www.gxmining.com) , but was luckily covered by BITPAY

It was close to over 18K US of coins at the time. You are more than welcome to confirm with Bitpay itself...I can co-ordinate my details with Bitpay if that is what it takes.

The suggestion still stands. I would like to buy some miners with BTC from KNC but would like to be covered by Bitpay. This would be a good option. What do you think?

Wasn't coming down hard at all, just don't think it's an option as refunds to buyers are not a feature of Bitpay.

You may have been lucky to have had a welcome experience with them, but it's not a feature on their site so it's not guaranteed.

Bitpay is set-up to entice the seller away from Paypal where it offers guaranteed payment and no chargebacks, not the buyer, where it offer nothing, but anonymity in the transaction if the buyer wishes. There's no assured payment protection.

I can only go off my own experience yes. I was lucky Bitpay offered me protection and refunded my coins. I'd like to see what KNC and bitpay would say about this arrangement. Emails from our community to these two entities might get things rolling. I'll be writing and will see what happens. Some support might help

I'm under the impression that their public agreement with Orsoc is  sufficient proof that this is legit.  The GHash/s is comparable with Avalon (approx 50MHash/s/$) and I'm planning on purchasing.

Does anyone have any legitimate concerns that should dissuade me from purchasing?

Somebody FUCK ME IN MY ASS before I change my mind. I've [edit spelling] offered up legitimate concerns till I was blue in the face in this thread and you're still considering purchasing. Here's an idea: Also purchase from CedarTec to hedge your bet, where I, too, contributed to their demise.

To be honest, i found your concerns more like unsubstantiated accusations.

Phinnaeus lost all credibility after his stunt in the CedarTec thread.  Just ignore him.

I think until OrSoc demonstrates the chip... these guys are promising but too risky.  Once they have a chip that does something... well... then the equation changes.

Right now there is a cottage industry springing up around the avalon batched chips.  Personally I think you are more likely to have satisfaction from one of those efforts which at least is based around an existing proven technology.

As far as low post count members... hell... I have been quietly mining and lurking for a couple of years... back when BTC seemed more like a fun nerdy hobby.  With the sudden world attention I figured it was okay to start taking it more seriously and offer thoughts/questions when I felt comfortable.  Not everyone with < 100 posts is some shill or sock puppet.

Right back at you Smiley

Only, I'm not on a first name basis with KnC like some Wink

EDIT: And I'm not saying things like "so far I see only green flags"...

Things started good but inconsistencies are creeping in. Red flags are appearing, so are new, optimistic accounts.

Typical scammy circus.

I'm waiting for an official your money back guarantee from a serious player like ORSoC. KnC is a newcomer and as such is not a serious player (especially given they only have 5000 EUR in capital - what a joke for a multi-million USD project).

If they're legit, I wish them well, but right now...

Honestly, the following is promising for now ORSoC has once again put their name on the line: https://www.kncminer.com/pages/aboutus

It's because of this revelation I will now scale back considerably further accusations.

God's speed, KNC!

PS: This is not a full indorsement, for I'll still be keeping an eye on them as further developments become available.

Reheated comment:

ORSoC has been hired for the technical part but won't deal with the customers.

This is either too small a company hiring an expert partner because they can't make it on their own (still a risky venture) or a cheap scam (considering) where ORSoC is genuine but really only lending credibility to the scammers. They will do a few engineering samples and the KnC guys will run with the money of the preorders.

Why stop being critical for KnC? It's way too early to not think it's a scam.

EDIT: ORSoC is not an equity partner in KnC, nor are any of the ORSoC ppl.
