I'm 2h by train away from Stockholm myself - and I know quite a few bitcoiners residing in Sthlm that I would in turn vouch for the credibility of.

I meant I've, not I'll, if that makes any difference your post, bud. I edited the spelling error in the post you quoted.

Here come the new accounts...

Yet, you were a new account a week ago? Regardless of your recent prolific post count.

Right back at you Smiley

Only, I'm not on a first name basis with KnC like some Wink

EDIT: And I'm not saying things like "so far I see only green flags"...

Things started good but inconsistencies are creeping in. Red flags are appearing, so are new, optimistic accounts.

Typical scammy circus.

I'm waiting for an official your money back guarantee from a serious player like ORSoC. KnC is a newcomer and as such is not a serious player (especially given they only have 5000 EUR in capital - what a joke for a multi-million USD project).

If they're legit, I wish them well, but right now...

You may be right; knc may be a scam. Don't see any red flags yet as startups often have little to no cash. Didn't mean to fuel a "typical scammy circus" sir! I pre-ordered over 20 days ago and do not know knc on a first name basis. I'm in San Francisco.

So many pages of... I understand people are cautious, but actually this is quite funny.
You take risk or not - just as with bfl... (not touching me) or with avalon (waiting for Batch 3 delivery) or with kncminer. What´s the problem?
Im cofident enough to place my bets and preorder. Let´s see what happens. Every company have to start from somewhere and sometimes
support is very important - at least I think that if I can get 350Gh/s miner for 7000$ by oct is good deal, but to make it happen needs support / buyers so they can really do it.

Coolio, they want to make an open day next Mon, work commitments and short notice mean I'd appreciate if there was someone close that can make it and you're a hero member, would that be feasible?

If KNC are willing to sell me a unit at cost, I'd be willing to show it to anyone in the UK that is interested. Could meet up at a hotel or some place.  I don't mind taking a risk, and being their cheerleader.

Immediatelly after they will have working unit order queue is sure quite long... I have seen what happened with Avalon. Missed Batch #1 - everyone unsure, Missed Batch #2 - sold out before got btc balance up. However I was ready for batch #3 and got one 101btc, sold out within 30 mins. Batch#1 Avalon customers are mining now quite happy... and earning a lot. So, now there is posibility that 350Gh/s miner will be reality at quite reasonable price and I still not understand generally what is the problem? Im ready to take a risk and hopefully it pays off.

Is a sad fact that Sam doesn't admit his failure in delivering those 50gh/s and 60 gh/s he promised in the summer month of June and instead change them to September 2013 claiming he will deliver the 350gh/s miner. You don't even have an Asic Chip at present and you plan to come up with a 28nm Asic that can mine 350gh/s?? Why don't you do a survey and find out how many will believe that you can come out with a 350gh/s miner in September 2013.? Grin

I'm all for helping startups, but there are way too many idiots with money burning they hands that will simply throw it at the first scammer's announce.

If they're legit, they should be more open about their capabilities in funding/delivering, they sorely need the cred. Making grand announcements doesn't really help.

I'd be much happier if they talked about whether their Mars project is on track for delivery "in 2 months" (from when? April?), that'd mean they have a plan and they're following it (instead of spamming the internet with new specs for sth they don't have and certainly lack the funds for).

Hope someone will go there to meet them up, remember takes lots of pictures and videos for us to verify their authenticity. please look and check if they have any real asic chip and Query them left and right about their much talk about jupiter 350gh/s selling ony at $6,999 to find out for real if they can deliver in September 2013 and not 2014.

please look and check if they have any real asic chip

Why would they have an ASIC chip before the fab has made them? And when the fab has made them they're only days/weeks away from shipping.

Design house [idea & specs] -> electronics wiz [board design, ASIC design] -> ASIC fab -> electronics assembly -> seller

Sort of. I'd assume KnC would be the design house and ORSoC the electronics wiz as well as assembly house. Which fab they use I wouldn't know - but there's a limit to the amount of 28nm capable plants in the world.

(Helveticoin's 28nm ASIC is one I believe exists since ST-Microelectronics is partners with one of them)

so orsoc in the past has easic as semiconductor partner, maybe they're using the

Look this is getting a little silly with speculation. If you're serious about going then please email direct.

I can't go as I was hoping for a little flexibility time wise.

It's Monday week. From discussion with Sam, it's not to demonstrate the ASIC chip, it's proof of concept of the FPGA. A working model. There will be another open day for the ASIC itself.  I'm definitely going to that. He said there is little point in me taking a flight over for the FPGA, someone local can verify that and meet both Sam and Andreas and the three members of ORSoC that make up KNCMiner.

So please. If there is anyone local to Stockholm, that is available next Monday and happy to go along, meet the guys and take photo/video evidence, ask appropriate questions and clear up some doubt, that would be awesome.

I've also asked some Qs about possible Mars V1 -> V2 upgrade, VAT and ORSoC's relationship with KNC. I have some answers to post, but don't want to drown out the fact we need someone free to go in person next Mon.

Can we confirm who first?

Defxor amd Tosku are both Senior / Hero members, and Swedish, can you both make it?

I'm probably free next Monday. However, as I've thought about it, I might not be the best guy to go. There are a number of reasons:

  • I'm not willing to pay for the trip myself, someone else would have to pay for my expenses (~1 BTC).
  • I've decided not to invest in KNC or any other new BTC mining equipment.
  • I know a thing or two about bitcoin mining and I've been doing it since 2011, but I am in no way an expert in FPGA/ASIC mining.
  • Most of what I know about the business side of computer hardware development I've learned from this forum.

Nevertheless, if someone is willing to pay for my expenses, I'd be happy to go. I own a DSLR camera and I think I'm a decent photographer, so I could probably take good enough pictures. I also happen to be an engineer* in Industrial Engineering and Management (Civilingenjör i industriell ekonomi in Swedish), so I think I'm still somewhat qualified to ask the right questions.

* Technically, I'm not an engineer yet. I've applied for a diploma, but it will take a few more weeks before I get it.
