Problem is, they are going to exceed 850w if things go really well. And we all saw those photos of how many 850w PSU's they have!
So they may tune it down to keep it below 850w, just so they don't have to buy 1000's more PSU's.
Discuss.
PSU should operate at 60-80% to get maximum effeciency and cool they have failed badly lol, should buy 1KW platinum, not crap coolermaster oh you silly fuck

Ahh, ok. But my theory still stands. The HW error rate isn't reflected in the 100% accepted shares listed on the screen. Something doesn't match up.
because it is fake!! they have Josh sitting on a Minirig behind that wall - his butt is blocking the exhaust which is why the error rate is so high.. but he loves the hot air so it's worth it HW errors are reported at diff 1 so if you have 20% errors at diff 20 you have 1% error rate

I never believed they would pull it off on such tight timetable, I figured at least a few weeks delays was a given. Im surprised, and impressed.
Now for the bad news for KnC customers: if KnC can do it, its at least plausible that Hashfast, Bitmine, Cointerra, ActM and what have you, can also do it (yeah, Im skipping BFL). I never thought their timetables where any more credible than KnC's, but thats changed now. Now look up DnT's spreadsheet with the avalanche of chips coming, and the current ecstasy may not last very long. This could become an even more crazy autumn than I thought possible, and waaay crazier than thegenesisblock suggests.

Discuss? There isnt much to discuss. I bought 1000W PSUs cause there is always some room left for overclocking and so additional 150W could be well spent. Yes but they aren't going to tune their hosted ones so they run on 850w and then send out everyone else's to pump out higher hashrates are they? That would screw the hosted guys. Edit: Unless they only hook up three 6 pins from each 850w PSU. Cabling might get messy, but then they'd be able to push it right up.

You got a pint there. But first lets see where the upper limit in terms of wattage and hashrate will finally settle.

The whole world just one shipment apart...
next diff = ROI - 30%. No, one week of delay doesnt mean such high ROI change when difficulty grows by 30% in meantime

The difference between 50% load and 100% load on most modern 80 Plus Gold PSU is about 1%. So 1% of 850W = 8.5W. That is about 74 kWh per year. At $0.10 per kWh it is a grand savings of $7.40.

May I remember you of the "broken a few speed records" statement ? I doubt others will be able to do so only for the reason KnC did it. Let's see.

next diff = ROI - 30%. No, one week of delay doesnt mean such high ROI change when difficulty grows by 30% in meantime Indeed. But the next diff will be approx 30% higher and you don't have your miner yet. You'll start (at best) at 30% lower than today. It's a race condition: if they can make the chips work 30% faster before the next diff change and you get you miner in the meantime, you won't have lost revenue (grossly). If they fail, you will be worse off. Maybe next time they'll know better than making claims they can't keep.

Most people ordered a 350GH/s jupiter, some others ordered a 400GH/s jupiter.
The fact that everyone with a jupiter ordered is going to get much more, how can anyone complain??
At the weekend I was a bit uncharitable in my comments towards KNC, as we were all being kept in the dark. If anyone from KNC is reading, I'd like to apologise for that.
If we can get a stable 550GH/s, I think that's amazing. If they can push it any higher - pure magic! How could anyone be dissatified with 30-50% bonus hashrate on what they ordered?
My best regards to all at KNC for their efforts.

They have already upped the specs on their store page to 550GH/S for Jupiter. Live hash is now 495GH/S average It will be interesting to see how far they can push it before she fries

Well, they did promise to ship in September, and that didn't happen. Let's see how long it takes them to actually ship the orders.
