could the next 3 next weeks be critical??

No... In fact, I think the thing I am going to do is just put all my coin on 100x leverage and short. Put that away for a few weeks and don't even check up on it. I am sure this is a good strategy and I will be rich in a few weeks. No need for stop loss. Stop loss is for sissys.

https://youtu.be/FD0mrmmYaKQ

I know in the joke video, the victim longed the top; however, I suspect a 100x short, attempting to "short the top" has a good chance of the end result being the same. Especially, implementing the above procedures. Cheesy

Just in case it helps someone else... I have found the "Bitcoin Ticker Widget" app for MAC pretty useful for tracking the price in this slow market where I almost do no trading anymore and don't have bitcoinwisdom tab permanently opened. That way I can go on with my life and still check the price in a peek the same way I would almost unconsciously check time (it is displayed in the same bar).

It is available on the App store and it is just a status ticker app so it should be reasonably audited. DYOR.

Nice non-obtrusive style ticker.
Now we just need one of those for android. Smiley
I've been using this for years now

I am glad someone actually got that reference hahaha. I love that video so much! I suppose I alterated the joke a bit to fit the current market. Although to be true, anyone who leverages at 100x is going to get rekt either way. The liquidation points are insane for such a volatile market.

There is no risk on using 100x leverage on a trade.... as soon as you have 80x the collateral to cover that specific trade and avoid being liquidated.... oh and you are longing, if you are shorting you can be rekt even in that case (although not probable in the short term).

Actually, with Bitmex fee structure, the odds are only ~ 5% against you at 100x if you are a maker on both open and close. If you are a taker on both the open and close, your odds are only approximately 15% against you. Hey, that's much better than Powerball or Megamillions.  Cheesy

Yeah I got that thing awhile ago. It works great on the I-watch too. You can configure it to show price in corner of the watch face.
During the great crash of 2018 whenever I was asked time,my answer was usually followed with
“oh shit it dumped again...” then the dude would look at me all weird like.
Then I’d be like “oh sorry mate, nm...”

I've made peace with trying my best to tune out Oct and Nov as far as Bitcorn price is concerned.

Praying to FSM that we see another rally in Dec. Have been eating into my cash reserves for the estimated tax payments on the BTC I sold to put into the main fiat retirement fund for myself, but still looking to sell at least another $1M worth of BTC/LTC before FY2018 is over.

If not, I guess I just tighten my belt a bit further, continue paying out estimated tax obligations - cry at dwindling fiat reserves - until March 1st, 2019, when my retirement fund starts paying me.

I have no idea what is going on.

During the next rally it will be very funny when you can't hide the ridiculous big smile and happiness when telling the time.

This bug was not only a DoS bug, it was a critical inflation vulnerability:

https://bitcoincore.org/en/2018/09/20/notice/

What worries me is the inescapability of such flaws. As long as development continues and the complexity of a system grows, it's just a matter of time until the next subtle change causes unforeseen and undesirable consequences.

Development can't cease in Bitcoin yet, so the question is how to mitigate those consequences when they arise. Rollbacks of the chain damage the immutability of Bitcoin and potentially leave legitimate users at a loss.

BTW have you guys ever seen this?
https://tucsky.github.io/SignificantTrades/#

It shows large buys and sells live from many exchanges..
It might give you an edge to see a dump coming before it reaches the exchange you are on, or a pump..

Nice tool, cheers!

"The Real Bitcoin"
It's developed my Mircea Popescu and his group. It's a fork of pre-segwit Bitcoin Core. It does not recognize segwit transactions.

One question: where do I sell this crap?  Tongue

I guess I finally capitulated. I selected 6500-7000 in the poll. I've always chosen bullish before this and been wrong so so so many times. Does that mean the price is finally going to rise?

If it makes you feel any better, I selected "$7,000-$7,500".

This has been an awful Bitcorn season.

Not sure what the harvest is gonna be like in December.

We already had a small bear trap but I am going to go ahead and say that we will without doubt go back to 6k before we go up to 8k. Watch out, there should be a moderate sized dump just before the end of the month. Trust me on this. Or don't. Im not your mom. Or dad. Or sister. Maybe Grandmother....Who had a sex change. And looks 28.

Well, yes. Unless thats what they want you to think so you go for the opposite in which case you realize it was double reverse psychology with a triple negative. So you hedge in case it was right but it will be obviously wrong. All these mental gymnastics and you make a 1% higher ROE. Certified by me.

That was another bear smashed. The dump was so quick and gone that my trailing stop did not even trigger  Shocked
Lucky me  Cool

But it seems like a sign that the market is rudderless but restless. Can’t afford not to be in it I think. Quite contrary to my personal sentiment, a rocket could be in the works.

This latest dump almost looks like a fat fingers error made in the margins market on Bitfinex. The amount of shorts on Bitfinex also spiked during the same minute and then it went down sharply in the next minute. I suppose the whale could have set a very tight stop loss. One could also blame it on spoofy, I suppose.

In my totally unqualified view, we've already bottomed out. Sentiment has been on the rise for months.
