For my professional career I was UAD guy. But recently I have been collecting Waves plugins. Their new pricing model is appealing. S/W not H/W...
H/W too. Add some flavor of SoundGrid server, and you've got HW acceleration just like the UAD stuff. And networked IO to boot. Ah.. I meant H/W as in iron. Mics, preamps, etc. But Soundgrid is interesting. That said my relatively new/cheap i7 runs endless amount of plugins now. The whole DSP thing is sort of uneeded now. I guess unless you want to track through the plugin... Even then my MADI card has low enough latency I already could if I wanted to.

DAMN, I had to look that shit up! I've never seen conciseness spelled like that nor concise used in that form. Its a new word everyday or my memory is getting substandard, poor, inferior, second-rate, second-class, unsatisfactory, inadequate, unacceptable, not up to scratch, not up to par, deficient, imperfect, defective, faulty, shoddy, amateurish, careless, negligent, miserable, sorry; incompetent, inept, inexpert, ineffectual, awful, atrocious, appalling, execrable, deplorable, terrible, abysmal, crummy, rotten, godawful, pathetic, useless, woeful, bum, lousy... (google ran out of synonyms). wow many new pages HOPE to have a good laugh tomorrow...., for today the session ended , all in a good ending. some go to BITMEX casino and so..... i prefer my BTCincreasing manners, especially when i run like today. goodnight so f***ing tired of just screen watching today. Grab a Beer and watch the game! I'm about to run out and grab some now and meetup so cya all l8r. JJR I release you from the logic trap. For my professional career I was UAD guy. I don't conclude that he is retarded, but he does have a few kooky ideas. A couple of kooky points that he made. First, he largely argued in a conclusory manner that it is likely that the government created bitcoin (or coopted it) in order to be able to trace every single aspect of our financial lives. Regarding the creation, I don't think the evidence adds up because bitcoin remains way too disruptive to government and traditional financial systems to have been created by them. Perhaps a central error in his thinking in this regard does relate to his possible inability to distinguish between bitcoin and the other cryptos, and therefore he does not really understand bitcoin. Second, which builds on the first point is that he concludes that financial institutions are going to be able to rehypothicate (treat as fractional reserves) bitcoin in the same way that they have been able to do with many other assets, including gold and silver - and this point is still yet to be seen whether they can be successful in that direction... and if bitcoin is going to cause an accountability that has not been possible with any other asset class to date. Of course, time will tell on this, and it could take 50 to 100 years to evolve these kinds of manipulation systems. I do not put it past that manipulation is an ongoing occurrence, but I do believe that the dynamics of bitcoin are much different than any other money (and even the hardest form of money that has ben witnessed to date), so we will see if financial institutions and governments are going to be able to sufficiently infiltrate bitcoin in order to achieve some of their manipulation objectives. I would like to supplement my earlier post with a couple of links to interviews from this week with Trace Mayer, by Max Keiser. Each of the interviews with Trace Mayer start in about the middle of the clip, at about minute 14. Part 1) (E1293) https://www.rt.com/shows/keiser-report/441368-trump-cnn-bitcoin-effects/Part 2) (E1294) https://www.rt.com/shows/keiser-report/441602-us-china-tariff-war/Surely, in the interview, Mayer is spending a decent amount of time referring to current events in bitcoin and trends including the financialization network effect that is coming through BAKKT's introduction of new products that are going live (at least some of the products) in early November. Even though Max Keiser can act a bit crazy with some of his entertainment value within his interviews, Max is ultimately a fairly strong bitcoin maximalist, OG and early bitcoin evangelist. He does sometimes get caught up with investing in some other questionable projects from time to time, including alts, and he even created his own alt coin. Nonetheless, it is a bit interesting about how Max becomes a bit giddy while interviewing Trace Mayer... mostly in the first half. In the second half, Max is a bit less giddy, yet Max and Trace still talk about bitcoin in a way that seems to be more understandable to bitcoin OGs rather than for the understandability of newbies. Of course, anyone can get to the level of understanding the conclusory points of these interviews, including the fact that the networking effect around financialization is really being battled out in bitcoin at the moment and through some of the latest financialization developments, including BAKKT, stable coins, and custody issues, and it seems that some bitcoin HODLers are going to be more prepared than others when there are likely going to be attempts at shenanigans from BIGGER players in the Bitcoin financialization space. Trace observes that the HODLers who are holding their own private keys are going to be in the better position to weather through some of the possible upcoming shenanigans in the bitcoin financialization space. Probably really no need to go into altcoins, here, but in the interviews, Mayer does make a pretty few insightful digs regarding the ridiculousness of some of the alt coins, such as Ethereum and some of the alt coins that seem dumb enough to built upon Ethereum, when it takes either a computer genius or a multi-millionaire to actually be able to synchronize a full ethereum node (my characterization, not Mayer's... He just refers to ethereum scaling as "absurd" which seems good enough to capture an overall assessment about the current state of ethereum scaling, for all intents and purposes hahahahhaha ).

I've been weaning myself away from the racks of H/W, trying to go all software. I've only dabbled in the last few years, but have been using Ardour for ten years. I've not done it completely yet, but one of the things that is interesting about Ardour is that it natively supports it's own hardware slaves, on a dedicated ethernet interface. Spin up that cluster, and you could do a lot more. It used to be Linux only, but I see that it has Mac/Winderrs versions now. I'm using a Presonus Audiobox 1616 VLS for I/O. It's not the latest and greatest by any means, but it's 24/96, and pretty kickass compared to the interfaces a few years ago.

Where is my hat?
think Homer is overloaded with work but with that avatar ..... just a MUST HAVE HAT AVATAR I really enjoy the hat-making gig but I have to work at my wage-slave gig today... for 12 hours starting about now. If you would like a digital hat, I would be happy to make one but it would help if you send me a PM with a link to the image you would like and a colour preference. Gave you some nice merit, I hope that goes someway towards some kind of reward for your kindness and effort. Thanks very much for the compliments and the merit. You wouldn't believe how much of a reward it is just to see people wearing the hats!

What was before the universe popped into existence? Where did the matter and dark matter come from? Can there be life made of dark matter, where matter is the "mysterious" one? I doubt things are really over with us expanding into oblivion
The observer effect of quantum mechanics to me is no real difference to backface culling, which has sort of scary implications: 1) Evidence of some type of universe designer instead of it's attributes being random dice rolls. How could backface culling exist through a dice roll? It's a load balancing process designed to conserve resources should a designated person of importance (any consciousness) not currently utilize said environment. 2) Life likely not being accidental if the universe is designed to contain it instead of the typical natural selection idea of raw material adapting itself to fit the universe's attributes; it's the exact opposite in reality. 3) It indicates some type of universe administrator, designer, or creator, which can either lead into religious doctrine or something like the universe as a simulation theory - which would be the same thing as 'god' for all intents and purposes since the simulation was created by something. 4) The earth seems to mostly be a closed ecosystem, caged deathmatch in practice, so that does not exactly spell out a benevolent god if such a thing tosses you into a caged deathmatch on purpose; unless it's some type of test to work together with others instead of fight them to venture into space which turns it into an open ecosystem, but the speed of light seems to turn it back into a closed ecosystem deathmatch anyway. So the motivations of said creator and purpose of life itself is mostly a mystery. Unless you turn it ultra-biblical like the Stephen King movie "The Stand", where 50% 'good' and 50% 'evil' fight each other in a cage match indefinitely.

Better?
I don't like to be the one to break this to you, but you're never going to be better. But that's just the nature of things. Some win gold and some come last. You make yourself into a loser when you take matters personally on the interwebs and then you interact with guys and gal in threads such as this with your feelings on the line (and perhaps concern about respect), which seems to be your current trajectory. Your situation is NOT necessarily a lost cause because any of us has an ability to recover from such negative trajectory, as long as we attempt to learn how to take a bit of emotion out of our expectations.
