I am neither a bear nor a bull but wish to arrive at a realistic likelihood of various outcomes. ....

There are 3 main ways to view the future.

1.  BTC will aways be the leading digital money, increase dominance, and large returns are still possible.

2. Technical failure or crippling of some sort (low probabilty, but still possible)

3. Another crypocurrecy ascends to dominance.

I would put odds of perhaps 10% on #2, and 45% on each of #1 and 3.

Price targets for 2021 for :

#1  30k

#2   sub-1k

#3   8k

Conclusion... good odds of positive ROI from current level.

6920 then 5200 then 6500 then capitulation around 3K in january 2019

Just about possible, but timeframe looks wrong for that. IF we are going to $3k (hopefully not) , then it will take longer. The market may be too mature for that type of volatility.

A stall in the 5k to 7k range for another 6 months, then a slow roller-coaster climb to 12k in 2020 is perhaps more realistic. 100% ROI in 15 months is pretty good.

Ultimately, with the numbers of large alts now becoming more globally viable, it is worth considering the possiblilty that BTC has seen its ATH already.

Even some of the more optimistic predictions back in 2013  had 10k as the final target, and a steady decrease in volatility as that price approached.

oh JESUS !  we are not going to 3k ok?

(there ya go... now my son will take care of it...)

I don't believe so either, but nobody can be certain. I believe that price volatility has continued to decline, and therefore it is a reasonable assumption that 5k may have marked the bottom.

On a positive  note, a fall to 3k in 4 months would indicate volatility is still very high, and therefore there is a lot more adoption to come :  ie.  much higher future prices.

Full credit to Awemany.  Just goes to show that not everyone involved in BCH is a criminal and fraudster.

Actually everyone involved in BCH is a criminal and fraudster. The bug was introduced in the code before Bitmain Cash fork took place. They revealed the bug because they couldn't exploit it in any other way.

As HairyMaclairy said a little bit upthread -- albeit in an erroneous context -- extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

You likely have your finger on the pulse of the bcash community more than anyone else here. How's everything looking in regard to the possible hardfork?

Nice song. It seems I couldn't appreciate that style of music until recently.

Bcash doesn't deserve such a nice song though. It's just a shitcoin for fucks sake!

Full disclosure: I still hold a few BCH (single digits), because of reasons.... but I wouldn't mind wiping my ass with 'em.

You are a BCH whale compared to me. I have some dust scattered here and there.  I was nice and purchased .01 BCH to give to Awemany, today. I'll get some more BCH when and if I actually find that I can use it, and there are no other alternatives that are more convenient. After all, one of the narratives is that BCH is not supposed to be used for a store of value; so why hold much unless absolutely necessary?

My only use is (or was)... well... trading the pump and dumps... A big part of the BCH I have left is basically profits of trading the original ones given to me for free. I will keep trading 'em until they have negligible value and/or converting to BTC any profits (if any) above 10 BCH.

There's no other use for it. We are not talking about Litecoin, XMR or DOGE here that MAY have some usage in some scenarios. It's Bcash you know.

P.S.: Oh, and nice on you for giving credit to where it is due (awemany). That's really meritable, more so after reading his full of drama and anti-core post.... Which we better ignore and just credit his good action.

This shit just cracked me up, too bad I'm outta merits.

Apparently, according to Luke-jr who's subscribed, Bitcoin Core still hasn't even bothered to use their announcement mailing list (specifically set up for security issues and new releases) to warn about CVE-2018-17144 yet (a security issue fixed in a new release no less!). That's pretty incompetent if you ask me.
The announcement of the new release and fix was sent to it.  You mean the guy who controls bitcoin.org isn't subscribed to it? That' s pretty ... suboptimal, if you ask me. Smiley

It's easy to point fingers and assert that the world would be better if other people acted according to your will instead of their own free will,  harder to look at your own actions and contemplate what you could to to improve things.  To risk making the same mistake myself: Instead of calling people who owe you nothing incompetent, you could offer to help...  Just a thought.  It's the advice that I've tried to follow myself, and I think it's helped improve the world a lot more than insults ever would.

All this sideways action, for so long, is making some of us go all bonkers 'n sheeit.

Know what I mean ?

Feeling despair and malaise for so long is starting to take it's toll.

Will this suffice, until morale improves ?
