Is it wrong that I'm enjoying watching CSW and his shitcoin self destruct? He just needs to blow through the rest of Calvin Ayre's money and then I'll be happy to see the BTC price to rise again.

There's a suspicion that perhaps Craig is playing this, knowing very well that it'll fail and the direction of the market. Perhaps short positions on bitmex?

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

4600 is the new 6400. Who would have thought after so many months there we will dream of this price so soon.  Huh Anyway, this is a loss for the weak hands and bonus for the hodlers who can endure such drops and buy more. When the train starts again, I am sure all these people will wait until its too late to enter again. Imagine how weak hands are 'making money': They buy at 15k$ and above because the charts looked so hot and sexy and their analysis shows it will stay that way. Now at 4K they sell because the chart looks horrible. They assure themselves that they will enter again when they are certain the bull run is on. But when - at 6k? No, not confident. At 12K- no, its too much of a price. But the Bitcoin will not stop at 16K, 20K... and finally after 30-40K they decide to enter again... Just before the next drop to 20K when they panic sell again...

This is the explanation why there are people never profiting, while others are making huge money. I am gloating with the anticipitation of the next bull run when all these noobs will bite their tongues for selling at 4K, while the price goes above 40K! Mark my words!
I would even merit you if I had enough! Cheesy

There are also another reason people sell at those prices though, and that's margin-calls for people who trade BTC in margin. I don't know why would anyone do that... margin trading in an already high volatility market makes no sense to me! It's probably only addicted gamblers who do that.

But there are such services and if they exist, it means that some people use them.
Unfortunately that's another reason for the market makers to drop the prices, trigger the margin-calls of people who though that the price would NEVER drop after a certain level, and grab their money.
That tactic is hard and expensive to perform in the usual Forex market with fiat-currency trading and shares, but in a low liquidity market where whales exist, it's theoretically still easy to manipulate the market. I'd give it at least another 2 years before the wealth of BTC is more evenly shared and the price is less prone to manipulation and sharp movements.

Nobody thought it would happen. But here it is, happening.

You're right, NOBODY could have possibly seen this coming.  Dec 23, 2017:

Chart indicates 2 shakeouts before the pump, then price returns to the average of the bottom of the 1st and 2nd shakeout.  So bitcoin around $4200 incoming.  Probably won't happen till after Martin Looter Coon day.

Bonus round:

Please, no one trample JayJuanGee in the rush to the exits, as he will be hodling all the way to $4200:

Mmm probably you Made that prediction right after when torque sad (@ around ATH) many Will be crying when it Goes back to below 5K and it Will he said...... we need this kind of shakeouts etc

So your prediction Will be based on that i guess Roll Eyes

Or just trolling and accidentaly come true also possible

One thing is for sure guys.. with Ayre said he pushed legal action against them all (and always mentions Kraken) and Kraken saying they'll "socialize their losses with SV holders", do not keep your SV on Kraken plain and simple. Yes it is trading at -30% of Binance price but if you really want to buy it, there's still poloniex or bittrex.

Actually, BCH derivatives on bitmex only account for the ABC side of the split. Or you mean BTC shorts?

I'm waiting to see what happens when the some of the hashrate on the BCH chains goes back to BTC.

I understand dropping hashrate is causing slower Bitcoin blocks, but does anyone know why there's sometimes huge gaps between blocks, then loads mined within minutes of each other? Is that just random chance, or miners playing tricks?
I don't know the answer to this question. Can it be that lower hash power brings higher variance? I somehow doubt it.

However, if Roger is really scraping the bottom by selling Casascius Coins, it might mean his miners are about to switch. My own implicit question gains weight: what can reasonably expected to happen now?
Oh come on... is the basics of mining lost to us? This is basic bitch newbie tier shit, or at least it was when I joined. Look it the fuck up.
Do the basics of mining cover the 3-body problem too? I was trying to stir some discussion about short term ABC/SV balance and possible effects on the BTC chain.

Where do they get these company names Cheesy

I would have an extremely cautious approach towards a company with such a name, doesn't raise much trust.

You joking? It sounds FUCKING MASSIVE. If it's big it must be good.

Here's an interesting metric - Casascius capitulation - https://twitter.com/realLudvigArt/status/1064832260124303360

There's also a tweet in there which reckons one of them is Roger Ver's, though I've no idea how they know, which makes it desperation instead.

Should we be worried?
I don't think there's any more room for not considering underestimating the importance of beginning to start the process of mulling over the conceptualization of starting to worry.

And the time to do it is... very soon.

 Naaaa, surely not?

We crossed the prior ATH of $1166 in April 2017.

Is it really out of the question that the price could go back to April 2017?

We are already back to August 2017.

I remember people calling double figures as we fell down from the Gox debacle. I think $1500 is equally as dramatic a prediction. Way too bearish imo.

So what kind of special does it take to hold any BCash at this point? The second they decide that burning money on a day to day basis isn't such a great idea the chains will nosedive to zero. Why even bother taking that risk for minute potential gains?

Yes, BTC shorts. Someone else mentioned it here shortly after the split.

Yes I have decided that Roach was really right all along.  I should have paid more attention to the Essex pyramid.

Unlikely that we meet 200w SMA in one move.

It just hit the 200w EMA.

More likely first up, ... then down again later ...

 ... then up ...

... and then even more up.

- something like that
