It Could Take Bitcoin 22 Years to Retest Its ATH: UBS Analyst

Quote

Quote
The fact that Bitcoin saw its price breaking above $5,000 at the beginning of April made everyone highly optimistic about the prospects of a full-fledged bull run. However, crypto bulls shouldn’t hold their breath since it could take decades for the number one currency to recover from its epic downfall.

Bitcoin compared to other bubbles
After comparing Bitcoin to other bubbles, UBS analyst Kevin Dennean came to a conclusion that BTC will most likely follow their lead, Business Insider reports.
However, here’s a catch – Bitcoin will have to undergo a long-lasting recovery, so it is not reasonable to expect another bull run in the nearest future. For comparison, it took the Dow Jones Industrials 22 years to reach its previous peak.

Bitcoin moves five times faster than gold. So... four years and a half to ATH, at worst case scenario.

Even more so, the majority of people out there that still believe that BitcoinTM the Company had a CEO Mark Karpeles that got arrested.  So the original CEO and founder, Craig Wright, had to come in and set the company straight.  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

The FUDsters have hardly had to work at it, the misinformation works on it's own... it's no wonder that after 10 years we're still where we are.  Roll Eyes

Very Very sad because I am from Bangladesh bitcoin illegal but I Love Bitcoin  Cheesy

On December 24, 2017, the Central Bank of Bangladesh issued a cautionary notice that
cryptocurrencies are illegal in Bangladesh. According to a news report, the notice states that
“[t]ransaction [sic] with this currency may cause a violation of the existing money laundering and
terrorist financing regulations.” The notice states that bitcoin transactions “are not authorized
by the Bangladesh Bank or any regulatory agencies, and do not conform with the provisions under
the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947; Anti-Terrorism Act, 2009; and the Money
Laundering Prevention Act, 2012.” Also, according to the notice,
  • nline transaction [sic] of virtual currencies with any unnamed or pseudo named parties
may cause a violation of the above-mentioned acts. . . . .[T]ransactions through online
networks involving cryptocurrency are not approved by any central payment system and
as such people can be financially harmed and may face legal consequences.
Under the circumstances, the citizens have been asked to refrain from performing,
assisting, and advertising all kind of transactions through virtual currencies like Bitcoin to
avoid financial and legal damages.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Foreign Exchange Police Department, Bangladesh
Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), and Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission
(BTRC), have reportedly already held four meetings on “hunting down those
using cryptocurrencies.”

Bangladesh

Yep Fucking this rules it is only notepad show.
https://robikex.com/ Looking this site this site is Bangladeshi bitcoin and other some cryptocurrency Buy/Sell/Exchange available at this time.

A US man and his partner could face the death penalty after they were accused of building a "sea home" off Thailand.

Chad Elwartowski has gone into hiding with his girlfriend, Supranee Thepdet, after the navy said they had threatened the country's sovereignty.

Their home, which sits atop a 20m (65ft) platform, is located around 12 miles (19km) off the coast of Phuket.

But Mr Elwartowski insists it is 13 miles from the shore and therefore outside of Thailand's jurisdiction.

"The navy and its team... found a concrete tank floating on the sea but there was no-one on it," police colonel Nikorn Somsuk told AFP news agency.

He added that the navy would meet local officials "to consider what to do next". The navy said the couple had failed to seek permission from Thailand before constructing the home.

If the couple are found guilty of violating Thailand's sovereignty they could face life in prison and even the death penalty.

Bloomberg: Bakkt May Seek License from NY Regulators to Let Bitcoin Go Mainstream

Bloomberg reports that in order to overcome the resistance of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Intercontinental Exchange, Inc (ICE) intends to seek a license from the financial regulators in New York to get the Bakkt project finally going.

The major problem the regulator names here is the issue of storing customers’ assets and avoiding hacks along with possible market manipulation.
ICE considers solving the issue by getting licensed by NY financial regulators. They can officially allow Bakkt to set up its own custodial service for customers and store their digital coins for them.

Thinking about Elwar and Nadia's position. One thing we know about most of SE Asia (Thailand included) is that many problems can be paid to go away somewhat unofficially.  Elwar didn't hide the fact that he was an early adopter in BTC also Bangkok Post stated
Quote
"Mr Elwartowski was rich from bitcoin trading".

There's a fair chance of corruption in any case here. Turning themselves in receives the greatest chance of this, less likely if the US embassy gets involved first. I don't think the death sentence threat is really on the table but if they run and get caught I guess we'll find out or the extortion gets larger.

Here's hoping he doesn't get extorted, jumps the fence, and comes back to tell a wild James Bond-(Bonnie and Clyde) escape story purely for my entertainment!
But really, I hope it becomes clear soon for them.

Gambling with ones life is as high stakes as it gets and would you really take a chance on that countries ruler to not kill to set an example?

Alot depends on what the US official stance is on this.

The canadians are not good people.

Also I note from the map above that crypto is legal in the part of the world that is heading towards cultural and financial suicide. What do we make of this?
