A friend of mine argued that Bitcoin consumes too much energy for mining that can be used for something else. I told him that the blockchain technology is used all over the world as a substitute to bank transfers. And the mining of the gold also consumes energy for something that actually is not used for something except to lay in tresors and r0ach basement  Grin

Madame Alexa knows how many Bitcoin you have

i will never own an alexa/google/amazon voice activated device, unless there is an actual physical switch to cut the mics out of circuit.

i didnt really understand fully the ramification till the other day when i was going over with my wife  how to recover my btc stack in case of my death. i was going to tell her the passphrase to my trezor (it would be written down also, this was just for discussion). but when i was going to tell the the passphrase i stopped. because while i dont own an alexa/google/amazon device, i do have a smartphone and smart watch, which have mics of course.

so here i am in my own house, wondering if anything i say might go out to servers that humans can access (humans review random snips of voice data).

wtf, my own home, which i have spent considerable time and money hardening both physical and electronic networks, is useless if the closed source algo that trigger sending data for no fully understood by the end user.

btw many modern tvs have mics and web cams built in now. and IoT stuff like security cameras, some of which have mics so you can use then for intercoms, are notoriously bad at security and most will never get updates.

so much the attach surfaces are pretty big.

now i dont assume my phone and watch and compromised, but with the amount of money i have in btc it would be foolish to at least consider these scenarios,

like any smartphone or laptop with a built in mic is powered off and put in another room when setting up wallet seed words. paranoia? sure but it is based on failings of the current tech used.

Faraday cage room and Cryptosteel. Wink
Thinking of it, I'll probably just have to build a room like that when I bother getting a new property. Just in case I ever need to have some serious talks with somebody. Faraday cage + no electronic devices inside (smartphones could still record and send the audio later).

I think these kinds of problems are good to have though. They keep you on the edge if you consider them and keep you from turning into a potato and they're not as bad as having to worry about getting shot or eaten by a bear.

sure i understand Faraday cages, even built a couple as projects back in the day.

even if you put the phones/tablets etc in there, that doesnt mean they cant record things (some have batteries so will still be "on", store in local storage on the device, and send that out once its connected back to the network.

i would have to move them to the Faraday cage or another room in either case, so another room is fine for my purpose.

so, being the lazy sod i am, i fall back to the easier route, and adhere to KISS principal.turn off, power down, put em couple rooms away.

i have long realized how stupid and forgetful i am, and now make allowances accordingly.
and sometimes the old tricks are the best tricks.

To much time and effort is being put in CSW as online as IRL .... to much attention is what he gets Roll Eyes

As how I see it, satoshi created an Unique “thing” (where still Some have an other opinion of in how to exactly calling it)
But all of us BTC’ers can agree on is that this “thing” is decentralized and world changing as we know it.

This is been given by the name Satoshi Nakamoto to the people of the world to use it, if the people wants to.... and is just been given out of his hands to help the world of the past-2008- and just the world of today.

We all know CSW is a fraud, a scam, an idiot and so much more, especially if he try to take on this fight to every single BTC’er, cause in the world of today every BTC-believer “HODLER” = Satoshi....

The most nobel thing ever did was releasing this on the people and just let it grow, evolve etc whiteout claiming to be the one created it, this is probably 1 on an unknown number that is capable of doing that (its just not in human nature a not willing to have any credit for such work IMO)

Now CSW is willing to be Satoshi while we BTC’ers all are Satoshi.... WTF is this dudes problem??

How can he get this much attention while he Will never be able to back up his lie...?

I’m Satoshi “or i mean a participant of his amazing idea”

In last 2-3 days I converted 2 noncoiners into bitcoiner. One is my art director and the second person is my hopefully future father in law (he's cop and  it's kinda risky move lol)

Baptisted them with couple of BTC 😎

Ps: my gf warned me in advance that make sure this thing is solid otherwise we both are fucked Cheesy and get ready to run together lol.

CSW has no proof, can't do it, doesn't have it. Proof has been said so many times already and is very simple. Sign from genesis block. Sign from 10 out of the first 50 blocks. Sign from known PGP key. Move coins from second to 99th block. Move change coins that were originally sent to Hal Finney.

So simple, yet he won't do it. Because he can't.

Did CSW pull some new stunt recently though or what's the deal here?

He inferred he would pay $5k for the dox of one of his most vocal critics, Hodlnaut, so that way he could sue him for saying he's not Satoshi.

For a man who's supposedly very smart, he sure is retarded.
Wonder what the fuck is going on in that guy's head and how he became such a clown.

Probably the billions of dollars worth of Bitcoins he sold cheap years ago to start retarded business ventures that all failed between 2011 and 2013 has driven him mad. He could have been a Billionaire just hodling but he never truly believed in sound money, just his own ego.

Now he lies cheats and steals in an attempt to regain what he squandered.

He never had anything.  He is a phoney who is just making shit up.

Im not gonna dig up stuff I read years ago, but it was pretty well documented and verified that he was an extremely early miner of Bitcoin and sold large amounts of coins for peanuts based on todays prices. Yes he is a phoney, no he isnt Satoshi, but he and the deceased Dave Kleinman(likely the real Satoshi imo) were mining Bitcoin before most of the world had ever heard of it. Craig was on the cypherpunks mailing list in the 90's and its not hard to see why someone into cryptography for so long would find out about and mine Bitcoin so early. Here he is on the mailing list talking to Assange, another very early adopter of Bitcoin and also a cypherpunk https://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/674448945381249024?la .

To say he is a phoney is accurate, to say he never had anything(in regards to Bitcoins) most likely is not accurate.

Most likely he had what at the peak would have been valued at billions of dollars worth of coins, but was selling them for chump change to start his business ventures that legal documents, Australian tax authority documents, and employee statements show were failures. His failure to Hodl has driven him insane. Not everyone can squander many millions of dollars on a pizza and keep their sanity down the road.

6k soon. BTCaby BTCull is growing.

Bought £250 worth today, I was waiting to see if we went sub $5,000 but we didn’t (yet) so I pulled the trigger.

I’m impressed at the solidity & strength of the supposed, psychological support at the $5,000 barrier. Hopefully we stay above $5,000 over the weekend & push higher, testing resistance’s next week.

[edited out]

Somewhere Roach is reading this and pissed, but too ashamed to come fight us Cheesy

I doubt we are getting rid of Roach so easily.  He will be back spouting out his pm pumping nonsense.. and racial baloney.

He has no shame, even when he is 100% wrong.

He is too ashamed right now to comment. I used present tense and its an accurate statement. Nobody said we got rid of him for good, so perhaps you misunderstood what I wrote. I predict he will eventually be gotten rid of for good as BTC climbs in the next year or so, just like Stolfi was completely broken in 2015, never to return.

As for shame, his life is a never ending self torture of shame and misery.
