Communism on the rise?  No - see China and the former Soviet states.

Totalitarianism, yes - lurching that way - but it is appearing in the form of nationalism and as far as I can see it seems to be coming more from the right wing than the left in the West.
We know you are a leftie so your opinion carries no weight. But for general information, culture always moves from right to left over time. Nationalism is a right wing thing. It is on the decline, and has been for decades. Multiculturalism is the opposite of nationalism.

*coughing*

So, well, then i'm a leftie too Smiley
Look at the hippies, a growing minority to make a statement against what the majority stood for. Nothing was really achieved. Today it's not much different, but this time it's esoterics. So i guess we are going to the opposite what esoteric folks are wishing for, and totalitarianism quite sums it up, imho.

On the other hand, every radical movement or shift in societies was followed by a counter-reaction, in pretty much the opposite direction.

If there's one thing that homo sapiens sapiens (or pan narrans) is best at, it's fucking up.

You are attempting to introduce terms that have no meaning. Nobody here is quite that stupid.

So your prejudice about me wins the argument?  And who is this 'we' you speak for?

I am a capitalist and generally libertarian actually, but no matter. However, just because I am not as jackbooted as you does not make my opinion of no value. I was attacking your sloppy and farcical arguments, not you. You, I pity.

If you think nationalism is in decline you are plainly deluded.  America first?  Brexit?  AFD in Germany?  Ergogan in Turkey... Poland's Law and Justice party... Orban in Hungary....  Seriously?  The liberal consensus of the post-war West is in decline, not nationalism.  Everyone printing money, 'strong men' in politics with idealistic simplistic solutions often involving stretching the truth..?  Sounds more like a reversion to the politics of the 1930s to me.

And if you are leaving the West because of communism, as you advocate everyone should - do remember to shut the door behind you on your way out?

Back on ignore.

I am done even entertaining anyone on the left. You, and people like you, do not understand human psychology or economics. You are worthless.

If you have an argument then make it. You have as yet not done so. There is no argument to win.

Not to mention Brasil, Italy and Austria's last - and hopefully not also next government. They even kicked their fishy prime minister out, to pave their way to new elections! That's some totally fine democracy, or isn't it?

Nice to hear your contrarian voice again.

According to this tweet:

The way he analyzes through Elliot coincides with a criterion I have about it, in trend Elliot is always met, and according to Wyckoff's theory studying the Bitcoin graph, we are already in an initial stage of Bullish trend, it is very It probably can happen.

Communism/ socialism has definitely gained popularity among the younger crowd.  Doesn't take a math genius to look at where all the new productivity gains are going to, heres a hint: its not going to hourly workers on the bottom the totem pole.  Wealth disparity is similar to what it was in the gilded age.

Really?

As far as I know there is a resurgence in nationalism.

USA, China, Russia, Brazil, Italy, Spain / Catalan, Even Hongkong ffs.. and the big daddy of all - INDIA.

As much as I hate far right stuff, it seems the world is suddenly right again.. I wish your theory of right to left was observable in the real world.

Wealth disparity is not the worst thing...historical forces that typically remove the disparity are much more disagreeable.
I am reading a book that systematically looked at what reduces inequality..and turns out only major wars and deadly pandemics (plaque in medieval Europe) were able to temporarily reduce inequality.

All societies "naturally'" trend toward increasing inequality in relatively peaceful conditions (over centuries).

I'm giving 4 merits away to whoever posts the half-millionth post (#500000) on the Wall Observer thread -- the last post on page 25,000.

And the first post on page 25K?

I should have mentioned the one rule: no double-posting to game the count  Cheesy

Congrats tho on having this one. I thought about erasing my last post to spite you, but I won't.

Edit: Upping the prize to 5 Merits just because its a nice round number.

4 is round.  Roll Eyes

You seem to be indicating the mass pandemics / disasters that make the wealthy less wealthy and taking that as some kind of an equalizing force. The truth is, the real disparity between the rich and poor keeps on increasing. At least that was the case until the industrial age kicked in.

And now only thanks to the advent of internet and perhaps to some degrees, cryptos, the wealth that was accumulated by the rich for eons, has trickled down to the economically weaker sections of the population.

As far as I know, there are very few instances where the poor are given a solid way to claw out of poverty.

I got no problem with wealth disparity in itself.

I do have a problem with people being treated differently under the law, and we got some problems on that front.

Quick update on my bank situation. They booted me.

No real reason given. They demanded insight into my bitcoin transactions, I told them they get nothing bitcoin related, done.

This happened a mere few days before I'm going on a global tour, starting with asia, then eastern europe and finally south america. No big. I can buy plane tickets directly with btc, my only bills are my cellie which my family can handle from their accounts, there is the occasional btc atm around the world... it will be interesting to see how well it works to be bankless.

Presumably they will write you a cheque totalling your account balances so you can cash it when you get a new bank?

Asking for future reference.
For the moment I have simply moved my money to a family account. I don't intend to actually use that account for anything more than simply storing my money, but it is there as an extra emergency backup if needed. This is ideally a temporary measure. I have not looked for a new bank and do not intend to.
Merited for cutting edge reporting. And, what if they go after your familly account because "it did receive the btc-tainted kroner, ha!" - how likely do you reckon such an event is?

Hey speaking of, the entire west is heading towards communism.

In germany a baker was faced with a 25k euro fine for having KG instead of kg on the signs in his shop. We are already living under stalinist conditions.

I'd like to hear the facts from two sources. It's not the commies IMO. It's obsessive insistence with The Rulez and the stantarts that neet to be folloft. The Germans are chronically prone to it, as are some other people, each in their own way. There must be a way for a peep to carve himself some slack. I would start to look for any specific reference to minuscule g's in the letter of the law. As for the spirit, typography apart, it's probably meant to ban unconverted pounds or ounces.
