That pastebin was taken completely out of context. The user on here who posted it also apologised to gmaxwell on IRC for posting it

As I said earlier on IRC, I did not mean to step on anyone's toes, especially not gmaxwell's. I had no context, since I joined the channel just moments before. I did just mean to provide information and don't have any $/BTC on Gox. Didn't mean to spread FUD/fear and have no agenda, the post was meant to be informative in nature only.

Should there be any relevant context, that changes the perceived meaning, someone please post it.

But the information that was posted, is believed to be true? So whats wrong with the context?

I only provided the log, which is real. I'll leave the drawing of conclusions to others.

Any alleged missing context has to be provided by those who claim that it's missing.

EDIT: I think an interesting question is: What information is actually in there? Many might conclude that it highlights a certain degree of incompetence on Gox's side. It might be a bit more far-fetched to draw conclusions on whether and how many coins have been "lost"/"stolen" from Gox (purely from the log).

EDIT2: E. g. they could have automatically reissued the same transaction as a double-spend (using the same inputs) and not lost anything to this automatic reissuing (I am aware there have been various reports to the contrary (them resending with different inputs), which might or might not be true, I am just commenting on the log). Whether that theory holds ground in light of malleability issues, stuck transactions and other reported inconsistencies is another question altogether. Maybe malleability could still only be exploited (if at all) by complaining to customer service and have them manually resend your coins (again: there are reports claiming otherwise, might be true, might be not). Someone who feels inclined to do so could maybe dig up some more information on what most likely transpires from this log (if anything) from publicly available transaction logs. I only provided the IRC log without any speculation or interpretation.

I mean, what the hell? If it's on IRC, you're free to show it to the rest of the world, simple as that. And "lack of context"? What the fuck. It's a pretty long log, so it's hardly a single line or two "taken out of context".

As said on IRC, that was my initial thinking, too. It seemed some didn't agree and I just meant to highlight that I intended no harm or offense.

About context one thing that could potentially be interesting is what gmaxmell is replying to (he's addressing wumpus). Maybe someone can add that who has been in the channel a little earlier than me?

Please note that this reddit has not been posted by me. I will refrain from further quoting and leave you to read nullc's comments for yourself. I think the context that nullc finds is missing is pretty clear from what has been posted already and with regard to some of his comments I can only emphasize once more I did not post this to manipulate, cause harm or offense.
