Good morning BTCland. Still flat as a pancake... currently $6280USD/$8188CAD (Bitcoinaverage). Yawn. A little bit of math: If you bought Ripple for $ 1000 in January, now you would have $ 79. If you bought Bud Light for $ 1000 in January, drank all the beer and passed the bottles, now you would have $ 79. Ripple? Bud Light? Yuck. The former is a hangover waiting to happen and the latter is watery swill. I'll stick to full-strength beer thanks. I don't pay alcohol tax on water. As a German, both those offend me highly.

As a German, both those offend me highly. Yeah, they're pretty gross. I don't mind a good German lager but what I really love is a full-bodied Irish-style dry stout. Luckily there's one brewed right here in Ontario using local water so it's easy on my system. It's brewed to 5% alc/vol which is a little lighter than in some countries but standard for here so it's what I'm accustomed to. Cheers.

One should be mindful that the effect of the halving halves each time. We're going from a thud to a tinkle. When the reward is fractions of a bitcoin, who thinks the halving will still be driving price?

If you bought Bud Light for $ 1000 in January, drank all the beer and passed the bottles, now you would have $ 79. Actually if you drank $1000 of german beer you would have more. Because 9 (dollar) cents a bottle when you return it (pfand). And it usually costs no more than 80 euro cents per bottle, so lets say an expensive beer is 1 dollar each. Thats 1000 beers with a pfand return of 90 dollars Making you richer than the guy who bought ripple.

The only way its meant to be drunk is draught from a keg. Or at least a can with one of those little balls. Cheers.

Hodlers friendly beer: Less than $3 for 12 cans pack. I will tell you the very same thing I tell new coiners who become interested in altcoins: There's a reason why it's so cheap.

When the reward is fractions of a bitcoin, who thinks the halving will still be driving price? The effect of halving does not halve when you count fiat. A miner still starts getting 50% of btc measured in $$, unless the price react accordingly. Therefore, the effect is the same, unless the number of minable tx (or their cost) dramatically increases. As of this moment mining at a typical 10c/kwh is already unprofitable on S9 (Bitmain), but still somewhat profitable using newer equipment (M10). This is without even counting the equipment cost. For the industrial sites with the electrical cost at 3-5c/kwh the breakeven would come once difficulty increases 2-3 times, which should be in 3-4 mo or so, maybe even earlier.

Yeah, probably more than ONE reason..... but it has profited me awesomely if I consider part of the savings (literally thousands of $ for the last few years) indirectly went to Bitcoin. Also the taste is good or even better than many other "regular" beers so for daily (massive) consumption I find it perfect. As I said, it's just a (poor) "hodlers friendly" beer... and I don't think it's going to kill me any faster than other "better" beers.
