Hey all. Been busy lately with the seastead and I just bought a sail boat as a commuter (my friend was our taxi while we waited to get the boat). Having the bottom stripped to bare metal (steel hull) and painted. Here's the first video in a series about us getting the seastead up. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tTXhgcXA1pMLooking forward to the day that I can sit back and relax and hang out on the forums again. But we have seasteads to build.

Bitcoin Whales Have Been Acquiring Large Amounts of Cryptocurrency in Past Two Months https://www.cryptoglobe.com/latest/2019/02/bitcoin-whales-have-been-acquiring-large-amounts-of-cryptocurrency-in-past-2-months/"According to the “top 100 rich list” for cryptocurrency, compiled by Bitcoin.com, there are certain “whale wallets” that have been steadily increasing their crypto holdings - with every drop the digital asset market has experienced since December 2017. When crypto prices plummeted on February 24th, a number of whales reportedly bought large amounts of bitcoin (BTC) and bitcoin cash (BCH). ... Between December 17th, 2018 and February 25th, 2019, the four largest wallets associated with the exchanges (mentioned above) had increased their holdings by 2,879 BTC, an amount valued at approximately $10.8 million. In comparison, the remaining top 100 largest crypto addresses accumulated 151,505 BTC, which is currently valued at over $577 million according to CryptoCompare data." Surely that's not a good sign ? It is the opposite of wider distribution. A distribution from larger wallets to smaller/new holders would be more bullish. Give up! We've already seen the bottom.

If we are going to replicate the 2015 year, then by the end of 2019 we should be at least double than the bottom, i.e., $6400, which was the 'boring' price of 2018 for many months. Of course, there are always news or unpredictable sells of manipulators which can harm the price. I am mentally prepared for the worst scenario and I will continue to accumulate. The question is until when? For me personally, the exact usd value is of no imortance. I will hold for the years to come, may be until 2021, or even 2026. By then the merchants should offer prices of property and cars in Bitcoins, so I can spent a portion of my stash to buy something. Bitcoin is here to stay for sure, so I am not afraid in long term investing. I remember 6-7 years ago, when I was very glad to put my savings into 5% interest deposit in the bank for 5 years. These years have passed pretty fast, and in 2017 I terminated the deposit 1 year before its end, to buy Bitcoins. If I could happily wait 4-5 years for a 5% gain, why not wait 5 more for, say 1000-10000%? Yes, I can and I will do it!

There's quite a few of them coming out these days starting at the $1000 mark. They look like a lot of fun, and also useful for checking on boat hulls and such. Have you ever used one or do you intend to get one for when you are out on the seastead?

I'm so freaking bored.
So bored, in fact, I'm thinking of dumping 10 BTC of additional liquidity into my LND node, and start opening some max-value channels...
... and then I think about "How in tarnation am I going to find the time to balance all them there channels I'm fixin' to establish ?"
And then I cry inside, and die a little bit more, at how excruciating it is to presently manage that.
My kingdom for better channel balancing abilities.
Right now, I'm basically all "hurr durr imma gonna raise the rates for one week, then imma gonna lower them for another week" across all channels.
It's all very stupid right now.
Or maybe it's just me.
It's probably me.
I have no idea what I'm doing half the time, and just winging it through life.
Mostly.
I remember when I setup my first web server around 1994 IIRC. Looking at the access logs was almost like watching the paint dry. I remember my obsession in reducing the image sizes and even *EVERY* HTML code tags to the bare minimum, saving every byte and continually doing all sorts of optimisations basically for no reason because almost no one was really USING it. I would say LN is basically in that stage now. Give it time.

That's a beautiful picture - this happened in Moldova a couple of years ago too which reminds me, tomorrow is Mărţişor for Romanians (and their Moldovan brothers). It's a day of love, friendship and respect. I'll celebrate with you guys early - I better get out today and find something nice for my wife now or she'll be jealous

We are curious about the bottom which is 60 meters down. At the very least I can see if a few dropped wrenches and my GoPro are down there. I did dive down to the bottom of the seastead for some pictures. https://ocean.builders/a-view-from-below-the-seastead/
