Interesting - the US savings rate has doubled since the financial crisis.

Quote
There's another side effect of low or even negative rates, which is that economists are starting to believe they have the unintended consequence of boosting savings rates as consumers sock away even more of their earnings to make up for lost interest income.

At a recent 8.1 per cent, the personal savings rate in the US is double what it was heading into the financial crisis, when the target federal funds rate was 5.25 per cent. That can also be seen in the amount of excess liquidity at US banks, defined as deposits minus loans, which Fed data show has surged to $US3 trillion from about $US250 billion in 2008.

PSA:

The poll was only about what people THINK ABOUT.

TMI y'all!!!!

Now in BTC news:

The Bitcoin hash rate has broken yet another new all-time high, hitting a whopping 82.5 TH/s. Bitcoin investor Max Keiser reiterated his mantra in a tweet: “Price follows hashrate and hashrate chart continues its 9 yr bull market.”

These dumps are getting somewhat annoying, despite the buying opportunity.

I blame this dump on Bitcoin becoming sentient, over Lana Wachowski for going forward with a needless fourth installment of "The Matrix" series of films.

Transgenders ruin everything. (EDIT: Yes. I'm an asshole for this comment.)

That's fair enough. But regarding the Matrix, IMO, it was ruined when they made a 2nd and 3rd.

Out of curiosity, why do you say transgenders ruin everything? Being gay I figured you wouldn't care about that sort of thing. Or is it because they are now less attractive to you?

The whole woman in a man's body is odd to me, and I think is kind of similar thing to people with "body integrity identity disorder"

 Slippery slope.

I should not have derailed with my transgender comment, in retrospect. Many of the ones I've interacted with IRL are social justice monsters, and, in an attempt to tip-toe around the issue, many of them aren't entirely right in the head and haven't gotten help, if you catch my meaning. Dealing with their gender dysphoria is usually the tip of a potentially fatal iceberg, given suicide rates.

Can't agree more there. I'd say if there was no mental illness this world would be a damn utopia.
