Gore invented the Internet at the age of 15 or so while messing around on his macbook, but left implementation to the military and academia. Berners-Lee invented the web and implemented client and server at 34 YO.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

My mistake was in that i was thinking that Mr market would try to push banks up after FRC supposed "rescue", but it lasted for a whole 2 hours, then reversed.
My plan was to buy puts into a rally, but I am not buying those into a sharp decline and increase in premium and volatility.
Hence, still flat in the money market with about 5% returns (plus some long term time horizon stocks).

Pro tip:  Don't be fucking around with that shit.

Buy bitcoin and don't be whimpy about it.   Tongue

#justsaying.

Nothing to report re btc (no change in position whatsoever).
BTW, I read (with a big surprise) that there are only about 1 mil wallet addresses with at least one btc.
I thought that there were at least 2-5 times more.

Well.. that seems to be great..... that on the bright side, you have not completely forgotten about dee cornz.   Wink

Taking equity out of ones home, another thing you can't do here (and people wouldn't understand). Of course we saw in 2009 that it led to plenty of people losing their home...

You can't easily do it in Texas too because locals were burned on this before anyone else in US (in 1987) when people were mass-mailing the keys to their houses to lenders, apparently.
Typically, no cash-out refinancing. I know some people in CA that did multiple cash outs and now have a gigantic mortgage.
Still, there is some equity, but the cushion is much smaller that it should have been otherwise.

if you have a 700,000  home with 100% equity. You do not take out a loan on it.

Unless rates drop to 2-3%

My example is 2,000,000 wealth

700,000 home
400,000 bond driven 401 k gets 5%
100,000 gold, silver

that is 1,200,000 wealth
and you have 800,000 more wealth do do as you please.

that adds to 2,000,000 wealth

Wow!!!!!!   Shocked Shocked Shocked

The more you explain it, the worse it gets.

 Cry Cry Cry Cry

the 401k earns 20k a year

Of course, you know that if you are drawing down more than 4% per year, then you are likely depleting principle (to the extent that NOT depleting principle might matter?).. since the presumption would be that ONLY 3-4% per year would be sustainable.. but sure, maybe in these high inflation environments, we might be able to presume that the interest that we are able to earn will be able to keep up with a 5% per year withdrawal rate, perhaps?

you have 7,000 take home in pensions. since I said you have pensions you have to use some of the 401k eventually maybe now so 20,000 is the juice it gets. pull 4,000 and that is 2,000 a month but it is taxable so pull 30,000  this means the 402k will last close to a lifetime and you actuall income after taxes is 9,000 a month

This person has the ability to fuck around with 800,000 anyway they want to. Stock ,bonds, btc shit coins what ever.  But they are rare and they are dying every day as I type this out.

They can do an equity loan if rates drop to 2 or 3%. I said the chances are likely less than 1 in 25 Americans are in this spot.

They can have a mixed blend of what ever the they invest.  They are rare.

Most Americans are paycheck to paycheck and will work way past retirement ages. 70 or later is common.

For these people savings in a bank are meh at best. They need to do 3 or more different  plays even if the plays are $25 a month for each month.

There is a bit of an irony here Philip.

You seem to be describing most Americans as living paycheck to paycheck and for that reason unable to retire before 70; however, you also choose to continue to work (even if it is largely managing various mining arrangements) for fun - even though apparently you don't have to..

And, sure many of us live with various ironies....

Perfect! Lol

Off the top of my head, I recognize two possible solutions in order to resolve the matter with ONLY one knife stroke..

My DCA buy, originally scheduled for monday, got delayed for tuesday, when it slipped into the little $28k dip. Nice.

Hm?

Don't you gots ur lil selfie a lots of cornz by now?

By the way, I will admit that in some sense, I can relate to what you are describing, especially since sometimes, I will create tokenly small orders, just for funzies, and I will get a wee bit worked up regarding whether and/or how such order(s) fill.. and whether there was a lot of good/bad luck involved in the way that BTC prices ended up moving, even though in the whole scheme of things, the order(s) hardly even affected my "stack" in any kind of significant or meaningful way.

Exactly....

let me guess... it wasn't you who created this meme...

It seems the only way to get rid of these spamming farmer accounts

I am pretty sure that forum admins will not tend to consider images as plagiarism - even when no source has been provided - of course, when there is substantive written content contained within the image, then it might come off a bit more ambiguous regarding who was the creator of the idea(s) and whether proper sources had been cited.. . but still I doubt that forum admins are going to presume that the poster (even if a newbie merit farmer) is misleading other members regarding who created the image (even with written content contained therein).. ...

Personally, I do consider that it is probably a better practice to cite some of the sources, especially when there are words on the pictures, or at least to disclaim having had made the image.. I do not make any of my images, and I post images all of the time and I rarely (if ever) provide any source for my images, which I tend to just get by doing a google search that relates to some funny (or not funny) point that I might want to make and I find some random image that seems to represent my point... never created by me and hardly ever sourced.... yet I do not tend to cite images that have written content contained therein, so personally it seems to me that having written content on the image might be a bit more necessity to cite the source.. or where it was found (came from).

Dude, I am not selling bitcoin for consumption (as someone else does,  Cheesy), hence no need to generate cash flow: salary is nice, but sometimes I want a little extra, hence playing with a play money on the other markets.
Money market is different since I have too much exposure to "risk" already (via bitcoin, mainly).
Therefore, money market acts as an "anchor" to fiat portion, counterbalancing "risk" in btc.
But, to each their own and I would understand even a 100% btc position if someone would say that this is what what they think is proper.
