Good idea. But drinking lemonade with bitcoins would be very expensive. Here the cost will be 20-30 times higher due to the increased transaction fee of Bitcoin. So I consider it totally expensive. Business can be profitable if cryptocurrency other than bitcoin can be set in this business.

Dude, they just need to buy a raspberry pi and set up a lightning node and preload their channel with a couplea hundred bucks and they're golden once the blockchain has synced.

raspberry pi is a terrible choice to run any btc node of any kind

https://www.ebay.com/itm/115807198208?

just put in a 1tb ssd

for like 80 bucks

$220. for a far superior way to run a node.

This is from April 2022. Fees were actually much, much higher then than they are now, and it hasn't been wise to use BTC to pay for something that costs 25 cents since 2016.

Illegal cab company? You mean Uber?

Uber isn't illegal. It is a scam though.

I hail a cab on a street corner, get dropped off at another street corner, and pay cash, my ride is totally private. Nobody takes my name, address, destination, banking information or any other sensitive information. The driver gets his money and has the choice of declaring his tip or not. I get to go where I'm going. No problem.

As soon as you start using phones and credit cards anonymity is lost. There's permanent record of who you are, where you came from, where you went, and how much you paid. No thanks.

Same is true with subway in NYC.

Used to buy a token for 35 cents drop it in the turnstile and no one knew if you were on any subway.

After they install CCTV cameras in every subway car, I wouldn't say it's all that anonymous. Maintaining anonymity becomes more and more difficult over time.

Same also in Toronto with the whole public transit system but they're trying to change that. They recently stopped selling subway tokens and they want to phase out tickets and cash on surface routes and get everybody using "Presto" smart cards. Their excuse is that 90% of passengers already use the cards. I haven't checked out how difficult it is to obtain a card anon-/pseudonymously. I still use metal coins.

I'm a big baseball fan. I used to be able to walk up to the box office and buy a ticket anonymously with cash and then pay for a beer with cash. No cards or identification required (although I did get carded buying a beer when I was 60 years old). Now they've discontinued paper tickets and even scannable season ticket holder cards. Now you're obliged to bring an Android or Apple device to the ballpark and use their "Ballpark" application to display a moving barcode to be scanned at the gate. Last year you could print the QR codes for your tickets on paper and scan that. Not any more. Now you must physically bring a device to the park. The last thing I want to bring to a ball game is a telephone, especially one with a GPS that can be triangulated by cellular towers . To add insult to injury, they don't accept cash for beer anymore. Now you have to keep a permanent credit card record of every beer and hot dog along with the time of purchase.

There is no freedom without anonymity. I'm constantly amazed by how many people don't care about freedom anymore.

Observing 27,413@stamp.

In the meantime, Bitcoin difficulty reached another ATH:

Ordinals had a massive shift in incentives toward miners, who profited from the elevated fees associated with latest blocks.
Network nodes, on the contrary, suffered all the costs of an heavier blockchain, trough heavier blocks and obvious consequences in terms of hardware requirements and bandwidth usage.

The difficulty has exploded since adjustment: still too early to have a reliable extimate, but we currrnrlty are + 17% forecast, being 8 blocks ahead after 22 blocks in the new epoch:

Observing corn@28,340.

Classic WO game.

Where am I?

Pretty easy I must say.

Given the provided information, where am I going in the next 20 minutes?

 No more hints?

Turning 180° (detail)

Is my mind playing tricks on me or is part of the quote in my reply disappearing?  The talkimg.com images behave strangely.  Not why I was posting though...

Anymore hints?  I know more than I ever wanted to know about David Colville and his sons, John, David Jr and Archibald but it didn't help me to figure out where you were.
