That's a little misleading... the payments arrive immediately when the block is found.  They are generated coins, so they show as "Immature" in your wallet.  You must wait the 101 confirmations before you can spend them.
Depends on the wallet?  Or maybe I never really checked into it too much.

I run Bitcoin core as my wallet. Every time we hit a block my balance didn't increase until all confirmations  were done.  Now maybe the funds were "there" before but didn't show and I just didn't know how to discern the difference?
Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

It's not wallet dependent, however many wallets (and exchanges) do not handle generation transactions correctly.

The 100 transaction wait is built into bitcoin core, and all nodes using the reference client will reject transactions that try to spend a generation transaction before the 101st block after they were generated.

An example of this is TREZOR, originally it would try to include generation TX's before they had 101 confirmations and the transaction would be rejected by the network and held in limbo on the mytrezor site indefinitely.

They fixed their UTXO selection to correct for the problem, and now it works fine.

Edit: You can always check you mining address on a reputable block explorer, also my site will show all p2pool earning to any address that has ever received a p2pool reward: http://minefast.coincadence.com/miner.php

Here is a scanner from your browsers point of view.
With its help you can find the shortest path to a v14 node.

At the current share difficulty of 4.340.000 you should have about 200...300 GH/s to get one share a day.

but do you really need 1 share a day? isn't the sharechain 3 days 'long'?

It was only a hint.
You don't need one share a day.
With 100 GH/s you have to wait about 2 days for a share.
With 10 GH/s you have to wait about 20 days for a share.
And so on.

edit:
And if you got a share you are paid 3 days for this by every block that is found by P2Pool.

you need share to catch the instand of P2Pool finding a block ...
but, on a month, irrelevant because you receive the bitcoins that you mine with your power.

nothing less, nothing more.

If you want to mine on P2Pool and you don't have a high enough hashrate to submit accepted shares at least once per block period, you should try mining on NastyPool with the NastyPoP payout method.  It will allow you to receive weekly payouts no matter your hashrate.  Here's the page to get started: https://nastyfans.org/nastypool/ No signup is required and it is still a P2Pool node.

hah, just  was checking what that gbt latency would go to with max block size set to 1MB and noticed that p2pool got a block,

from a share that was orphaned on the p2pool chain.  hoho

Was reviewing the code and came across this one part:

https://github.com/forrestv/p2pool/blob/master/p2pool/data.py#L152

Question: Why limit it to "50 kB of new txns/share"?

good thing to notice, since default tx size limit is 100kb in client, or used to be anyway (i've not looked in a year or more)

suppose you'd want to change that to 50,000, to avoid having some otherwise valid p2pool share orphaned out

.... but there'd be other transactions too, maybe i'm missing something in p2pool code? boggle

Always nice to get one of those "surprise" blocks  Cheesy

Seems to be a lot of miners panicking on other pools due to bad luck recently, which makes it even sweeter  Wink

just a note - it seems probably some p2pool miners, merge mining huntercoin may not have updated for the hardfork.
