Yeah got a notice they will be delivering my L3+ on Monday why are they shipping them so early?

supposed to be Oct 21 to 30th not that i am complaining that its coming 6 days early.

Mine are on customs hold somewhere before being delivered to me in the US.  Did you have to do anything to get that through?  I got the email saying they were waiting clearance, but it didn't ask me for anything.

Side note, I wonder why the difficulty of litecoin just dropped off a bit. It's been a while since the difficulty has dropped because of all the L3+ machines being released. Curious, especially with them being so profitable right now with the run up in prices.

Probably because people switched to other altcoins? The pools might be directing part to the LTC chain and the other capacity to everything that seems to make money.

True, forgot about that.

Do you guys reboot the machines on a regular basis? Or just let them run forever?

I let them run. I check them once I receive a notification they are offline or every couple days to see if I accumulated xxxx on some chips. But thats really about all the work i do lol
OK, thought I was lucky but after about 12 days of mining both my L3+'s are now suddenly showing ASICs going offline (xxxxxxx) on different boards. One L3+ had a complete board go south.

CRAP!

Already did the reboot trick, but they are in a far-away-DC so going over to take them off power is tricky. After the first one showed issues I set the fans to 80% manually to cool them more, but no succes.

After a reboot it all seems fine for a while, and the number of HW errors is low.

Maybe the PSUs overheating after this long?

Any ideas?

By "DC" do you mean data center for hosting? If so, why not just run the fans at 100%, and why is there a problem with temperatures for the miner or psu if they're in a data center? Just curious.

How are your guys OC working out for you?

What is your highest and most stable HR at what frequency?  I just pumped up my miners and so far the temp is doing ok. Only time will tell what will happen but from temp side its running smoothly, just want to know if you guys are a lot over 550 and how its behaving

Yes, datacenter indeed.

I have two L3's, second one had a board go all "X"'s on me. I reboot it, looks OK. And I decide to lower the temperature by setting the fan speed at 85%. Then I think, let's do this on the other one as well. Now I have X'es on that one too! They're only ~12 days old or so, not overclocked and in a very good environment.

So the only thing I can think of is that the PSUs are suffering from exhaust heat and messing up the miners somehow. Increased airflow making the PSUs heat up more or something along those lines...

Are you using the APW3++ power supplies directly from Bitmain? If not that could be your problem. Those are server power supplies and really shouldn't overheat, and the heat they exhaust shouldn't be getting sucked into the miners intake fans either.

hey guys, about L3+...

I've been renting the power on nicehash, but it's shite nowdays, like $17 daily...
Do you think there are better places to rent L3+?

Some multipool which supports scrypt and pays in btc?
Any ideas what to do?

Thanks a bunch

Hey guys, I'll ask again - where is the best place to rent the hashing power of the L3+?
I'm giving it on nicehash, are there any other stable places to rent, which give out more?

thnks

nice one! did not know of it before... will give it a try with an L3 to see if it does better than pro hashing. GUI is a bit weird though ;-)

my conclusion about my L3's is that the PSU's are getting to much heat. They're installed behind the miners in the DC, which was fine for 2 weeks. My best guess is the temperature in the DC increased somehow and the PSUs are causing different banks of ASICs to switch off.

I'm surprised that they placed them behind the miners and not next to them. It should have been obvious to not have the psu's sucking in hot air from the miners, lol.

Well 3 out of 4 of mine are now showing shipped with tracking numbers.

Dont know what is the reason behind so early shipment for L3+
