Uhm, if the ancient post from BKK is still right, I come up with 55x63mm..

Does this look right?
Ente
Just checked the pcb file again and 55 x 63 is still correct and more accurate than I stated somewhere up above.

Use 55 x 62 now.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Eeek. I just checked a third time as I wondered how I got it wrong last time. And now I see that the holes for the left set are NOT the same distance for right set from right board edge. So in fact it was the old info that was wrong . The hole centers are definitely at 117,77.5mm and 179,132.5mm which means they are spaced 62mm and 55mm apart. And this time I checked the other 2 corners as well and they do line up correctly so please ignore my last post and go with 62x55mm spacing.

Sorry for the confusion.

(Anyone can verify component positions by hovering over the part and pressing "e" key. It will show the edit part dialog which has actual x,y co-ords, and you would want to subtract the board edge at 98.5, 50 mm to get on-board position - don't ask how that ended up as 98.5. Seems it was a relic from Eagle.)

Perhaps I could get a show of hands from those who think they would actually buy a kit or board that would require assembly docs?

Yes, this would be my preferred way to go Smiley. But I'm obviously not buying large volumes since it's gonna be done manually.

This might be a weird question but whatever. On the k1 miner board photos you linked, is that the official klondike miner logo that is on the boards? If so can you link me to an image of the logo itself? I am wanting to customize my cases a bit.

Thanks in advance
It is the logo but I'm not sure I'd call it official. I just found it on google images and decided it was fitting and it'd be nice for a graphic on the board. There could be someone out there who's going to be stompin mad I used their pickaxe and shovel graphic. So if a talented graphic designer here wants to make up a similar or even different and better one that can be released as CC licensed I'd be open to that.

For the time being I'll see if I can dig up the image and put it up on github.

(... done)

Thanks...I can put up a small bounty to try to get people to design a really cool one. Is that okay with you?

Maybe a Klondike SE with WHITE solder mask. I always thought these looked pretty cool. Something mounted under clear plexiglass as a working art object but it would have to wait for later when I have better hand assembly worked out and all the dev work is finally done.

I'm ok with that but I don't want to get too distracted with it myself. I'm quite fine with the one Laserhorse made up above - though I forgot to reply, Thank You Laserhorse. At least I don't have to worry about infringing anyone's copyright - assuming Laserhorse states it's CC license or public domain. I like the simplicity and if nothing strikingly better pops up I'll update the Kicad library with it.

Keep in mind it needs to be simple enough to show monochrome on a PCB.

I somehow didn't even see laserhorse's...I guess that one works perfect. Alright well I'm off to make stencils to start customizing my Rpi and cases and such. Thanks again for the help.

Hey Bkkcoins,

Just so you know who/what you are dealing with regarding Terrahash.

I hate to see people's hard work being taken advantage of.

Hold up there Scary, now you are blurring lines.  You just call a poster out about his attempt to sell hardware that he does not have and now it looks like you are blaming that on TH. So which is it?

BKK: I'm not sure if you saw it but Yifu posted on another thread (where someone got an Avalon clone board working with a sample chip) this:

Quote from: BitSyncom
hint hint: the chip has a much higher clock cap.

I don't think anyone knows details yet, so just an fyi.

If it turns out the ASIC can be significantly overclocked then we may only want to stuff 12 or 14 Avalon chips on the K16.
BkkCoins is developing the firmware in a way that will efficiently utilize less than 16 chip configurations.

Samples showing on Fedex as being in Bkk this morning. I'm leaving later today for pick up tomorrow. I'm assuming they'll get delivered this afternoon but will check later. The K16 boards are already there and the catch-up parts order is showing same as samples, should arrive together.

The prices on eBay for ASICs can be totally absurd, scams are the rule. I would pretty much ignore it, eBay is not the way to sell the boards.

Yep, me too.
Have the skills to do it so i'd like to make a 16 chip Klondike and 4 little USB ones with the 20 chips I have coming soon.

Have you got a plan in place for supplying kits to people? (for ordering and logistics) I'd assume there would be a fair bit of demand. Most people would probably go for a pre-made option though.
