Mine have 5 sets of 2x2 pin headers located along the edges of the board.  The boards each came with a little PCB jumper board plugged into one of them.  Any idea what they do?

So right now, assuming we had working K16, you would need one USB port per K16, as the klego connectors and the firmware to drive them properly would not work.

Right?

Are there any updated github forks I can follow? I am also looking for PCBs, but I'd like to have some made accounting for the size difference with the replacement for the 38L361C, MLC1260-401MLP (Part # L1-2), and possibly add backplane power and/or USB, maybe stackable klego connectors?

So after 157 pages is there a working Klondike available? It's a bit sad to see this Open Source Board fail.

Is there any firmware that lives in the device in NVRAM of some sort, or is everything loaded at runtime?

It's all precompiled and sits in the flash memory on the pic.

Are there any known updates for the firmware that might help me?

Mine still won't hash using kano's klondike cgminer branch.  They just produce HW errors.

I believe there is but the boards cannot be chained together yet.

If the price is right on Avalon's firesale gen1 chips, and if there are enough available, this project may get new life.

I think your going to need a hardware change.
Can you find someone near by that can replace a few parts for you?

I can probably change parts if I know which ones.

@bogart, replace C274 with a 220p, or 260p capacitor

Is that the proper mod?  I downloaded "K16+Assembly+Drawing.pdf" from the bkkcoins github and found C274's location on the board.

Buying anything from avalon after all that has happened is sheer foolishness.

There are still a bunch of bag-holders that need Avalon asics to power their miners (if the K16 is ever going to mine). Starting anything after with Avalon, that is foolishness. But, also, business is business. If they turn things around, money will be talking.

C274 is the correct part to replace.
I would also recommend that you replace R45 and R46 with something lower that the 1K resistor that is already install.
Change them to some thing between say 350 to 500 ohms.

If any of you fellas need some extra parts for the task I have a slew of em.  Spare no expense...

I've been thinking about putting together K16 part kits but there's probably not many people building them at the moment. It would include everything on the K16 parts list except the pcb board, Avalon ASIC chip and the PIC controller.

Actually, his assembly pre-buy customers own a bunch of parts... they aren't his to sell unless he's gonna refund the cost for them.

Yes,  I meant so that he could pass it on to his customers.

Yeah, sorry. I guess I'm just feeling a bit grumpy about the assembly/parts situation over at the SB group buy. :/
