https://www.deepdotweb.com/2016/01/23/bitcoin-playing-an-increased-role-in-crime-europol-says/

Would you believe that the existence of bitcoin has increased the number of criminality in  some countries in the world. This is the issue that was being thrown by the EuroPol and the UK Metropolitan Police. According to them bitcoin has played a huge role on the increasing criminality in their area. They added that a huge number of cybercriminals were using bitcoins in their activities.

This just shows that as bitcoin develops both advantages and disadvantages will tag along.

In terms of criminality in general, I believe there is no direct correlation between that and the existence or growth of Bitcoin. Criminality has always been present. There is direct correlation between human existence and criminality instead. That, we cannot deny. But if we specify crybercrime, then perhaps Bitcoin will have some role in there, but definitely not the factor causing its increase. Perhaps its role is a minor one. One of which may be is that cybercriminals choose to ask Bitcoin instead of fiat because of tracking issues.

bitcoin has nothing to do with a criminal person, beside criminal activity has been taking place before bitcoin and any other crypto related business currency stated, bitcoin is a crypto currency that any body can invest on.

Either way, Bitcoin has got nothing to do with crime. The majority of Bitcoin users are law-abiding people motivated by privacy concerns.

well i think the perception of criminality rate in bitcoin also applies equally to fiat, much bitcoin use only leads to internet technology. It really doesn't make any difference and this is not the main reason if bitcoin is must ultimately regulate by the government. Bitcoin crime does look more intellectual and we are trapped by anonymous and decentralized patterns, but this makes us more responsible and more qualified to maintain the security and balance of personal accounts and There are a lot of criminals out there in this world that they will not choose who will go to be their victims. Even if the person is not rich they will still scam people. So I don't think that you give criminals an option to think that they can use bitcoin

When Bitcoin-bashers claim that Bitcoin can be and is used to fund and sponsor crimes, they are not wrong. It probably is true at this point in time. Here is another question? What currency is an overwhelming majority of laundering or drugs trade conducted in the world today? Fiat currency. Both are true. And yet, this argument is never levelled against fiat currency to force a shut-down, is it?

I do not think there is anything to do between crime and bitcoin. if there is a crime committed with bitcoin it's a person's fault instead of bitcoin. Anonymous bitcoins are often associated with crime. then to avoid such news we should use our official identity in bitcoin transactions.

yes I believe it will have the opportunity of criminality that occurs, the more advanced technology and stronger in the criminality. only here bitcoin is developing for the security of one's transactions and ownership in bitcoin. bitcoin has a significant role in the world economy because of the ease of getting and having accessible wherever and whenever.
Therefore bitcoin and police experts are very aggressively doing security for the occurrence of things that are not in want that can harm many people.

These are all attempts by the government to blame bitcoin. They have already started a smear campaign of bitcoin. In fact the government is stealing perfectly Fiat and in my eyes they are greater criminals than those who uses for illegal transactions bitcoin.

Bitcoin has become the currency of choice for cybercriminals. Its distinctive characteristics of decentralisation and pseudo-anonymity are also attractive to criminal actors in general, and yet Bitcoin has been assessed as representing only a low money laundering risk. In many respects, cryptocurrencies are still viewed as an unfamiliar, marginal phenomenon restricted to the purview of specialists.

Criminals have been around all along, only a bitcoin is used as their transaction. Bitcoin does not cause criminal activity to continue to increase It's just that bitcoin can make it easier for them to transact without having to meet.
Well i agree with you that many criminals now is being smart and wise by using bitcoin for there transaction, and i am sure that right now many criminals now is engaging themselves with bitcoin, because bitcoin is the future and there identity is will not show with bitcoin.

I believe it's a yes although people will get some benefits by using bitcoin as a new form or way of living still it has a lot of negative impact of it to the society such as many cases has been reported to the authorities involving bitcoin.Scamming is one of the existing illegal act involving bitcoin in their transactions in which affects the perspective of people towards bitcoin. The existence of illegal activities which involves bitcoin is happening everywhere, that's why we should always be aware and prepared

Criminality is made about bitcoin. Such as cyber crime. Such as someone hacking  your account with cyber crime and transfer your money to your account.

What you have stated above has a point. Although criminality is widespread even before the development of bitcoin, it is true that the existence of it increases the misdeed of people. As a matter of fact, some media flashes a news about bitcoin as a scam. It is maybe also use as a tool to do or done some cybercrimes like hacking someone's account or money.

Some of criminals are really taking advantage of using bitcoin for their illegal activities. I heard bitcoin is using in the dark web.  Many governments would definitely take actions once these criminal activities financed by crypto currencies become rampant and banning them could be one of the options when push come to shove

I think bitcoin really helps financially that's the good side of bitcoin but it can also have a negative impact because bitcoin access that can be said to be free it refers to the easy access of funding for terrorism activities.

In fact,  the popularity of bitcoin now has emerged criminality, and it happens to my country. Bad guys in my country kidnapped a kid and asked his parents to provide bitcoins as the ransom of their son. Besides criminals invest in bitcoin by using money they robbed from ATM (automatic teller machine). Thus,  we need to be careful of keeping our bitcoins.
