I think their is some connection about btc and criminal cases rather their is true and many connections about btc and criminality, because bitcoin has no tax and no fee people wanted to use it in a bad way,and i think that is the other reason why other countries banned bitcoin and that is the biggest disadvantage of btc. It is used for drugs, illegal recruits and other, thats why it is very crucial.

https://www.deepdotweb.com/2016/01/23/bitcoin-playing-an-increased-role-in-crime-europol-says/

Would you believe that the existence of bitcoin has increased the number of criminality in  some countries in the world. This is the issue that was being thrown by the EuroPol and the UK Metropolitan Police. According to them bitcoin has played a huge role on the increasing criminality in their area. They added that a huge number of cybercriminals were using bitcoins in their activities.

This just shows that as bitcoin develops both advantages and disadvantages will tag along.
it can not be denied if bitcoin is widely misused as a crime tool. but we have to go back to see what is bitcoin? A virtual money. 100% of these are wrong perpetrators, not the tools. If we can all use bitcoin well and correctly I do not think there will be any more crimes like this.

i doubt it.
criminal activities were happening even before bitcoin. for example the ransomware that everyone is talking about these days have been around a very long time before bitcoin was created!

and besides since bitcoin doesn't offer real anonymity it can not really help the criminals as much as things like hard cash helps them.

Criminal Activities are always happening in the world, it is done everyday in our world. And with bitcoin, it is more easy to do some transactions to buy something without knowing who you are and where you are. I think they are not using bitcoin, but they are more like abusing the use of bitcoin

As long as it's provide more positive things in the market I think many people are still want to support cryptocurrency bad people need always find a way to continue their vices but for those good people out there want to share what bitcoin brings positive development in the community they always talked about it.

Actuallly we cannot deny the possibility that bitcoin is being used or being linked to criminality. These is one of the reasons why some countries look at bitcoin as a treath to their government. Any other currencies are for sure linked to criminality not only bitcoin.

I don't agree much with it. Crimes has been on since long time. Bitcoin had just been around for like a decade only.Though most crimes were done for money, Bitcoin has nothing much to contribute.

I don't think bitcoin has played a huge role in the growth of crime. when there was no cryptocurrency, they paid with another currency. previously, they did not say that the currency affects crime

I dont believe that bitcoin is guilty that the criminality is increasing. There was a criminal network on the internet long before cryptocurrencies. And they already had always a way to pay. So bitcoin and cryptocurrencies make it much easier, thats true. So its like with every other thing that was invented for good things. You can always use anything for good and also for bad thinks. So they are people who killing other people with cars. So do we have to ban cars now because some small amount of people abuse it?

Bitcoin has become the currency of choice for cybercriminals. Its distinctive characteristics of decentralisation and pseudo-anonymity are also attractive to criminal actors in general, and yet Bitcoin has been assessed as representing only a low money laundering risk. In many respects, cryptocurrencies are still viewed as an unfamiliar, marginal phenomenon restricted to the purview of specialists.

You are right, crimes are already everywhere with or without bitcoin here in the world, we cannot eliminate crimes, criminals will do everything they can so that they can commit crimes here.

Indeed, crime depends on people. Bitcoin is not a crime, but some people use bitcoin for crime

if you go back to just before the last major spurt in the price of Bitcoins about 14 months ago then
the ransomware WannaCry virus was at it's peek with payments being demanded in Bitcoin !

Well was this seed money needed for the pump-en-dump because interestingly I am told it's back again
so does that mean prices are about to go up again or that the miners are desperate again having become
accustom to the high-life.

Drugs, Sex, Gambling and extortion were built into Bit-Coin from day one so I find it mute to be asking about this
now.

Mining is CPU-wars and Intel, AMD like it nearly as much as big oil likes miners wasting electricity. Is this what mankind has come too.

Cybercriminals use the same tools and schemes as targeted attacks against banks or their customers. One of the most popular methods of attack is phishing. The rogues create sites-clones of known exchanges, like two drops of water similar to the original. A potential victim enters the resource by mistake and enters his unique keys. Passwords become known to intruders, thieves enter the electronic wallet and transfer crypto-currencies to their hacker addresses.

There is no denying that bitcoin is used by anyone including for criminal transactions such as drugs, illegal weapons, money laundering and so on, this is because in just 10 minutes people can make wallets and can be used for bitcoin transactions.

I think that bitcoin bears more advantage than negativity, and as for criminality, it has always been, is and will be, and nothing can be done about it. In any field, you can find scammers trying to cash in on others.

I think Bitcoin will be used less for this in the future, as Artificial intelligence might find ways to find correlating addresses with people. I think Monero and other anon crypto's might take over that job, leaving bitcoin with a cleaner name.
