Some people are using Bitcoins for illegal purpose but that happens with other forms of payments as well like PayPal.

Yes, absolutely.

Because bitcoin is not issued by a specific monetary authority, it is based on a particular algorithm, which is generated by a large number of calculations, but its total amount is very limited, and it is extremely rare. Scarcity value, and the currency to its global liquidity, concealment was deeply loved by criminal activity, it is not confined to the borders, ethnic and language is not limited to make it act as another name for "crime" of this task.

Although the trading of bitcoin is public, it is impossible to trace the flow of funds through coin trading. If delayed coin trading is done via a dedicated bullnose coinchanger (for example, if A1 is executed by A2, A2 by A3 is executed, and A1 is executed by A1, and the amount of disruption is delayed), the flow of funds Will be completely unable to trace.

I guess that most of the criminal activities involving Bitcoin are happening within the crypospace - stolen wallets, hacked exhchanges etc. In the outside world, criminals have been happy to use dollars, euros and other FIAT currencies for ages. Cash is far less traceable than Bitcoin, so why should they change?

https://www.deepdotweb.com/2016/01/23/bitcoin-playing-an-increased-role-in-crime-europol-says/

Would you believe that the existence of bitcoin has increased the number of criminality in  some countries in the world. This is the issue that was being thrown by the EuroPol and the UK Metropolitan Police. According to them bitcoin has played a huge role on the increasing criminality in their area. They added that a huge number of cybercriminals were using bitcoins in their activities.

This just shows that as bitcoin develops both advantages and disadvantages will tag along.
I think that some of us knows about it, that Bitcoin is used for crimes and one of these is the terrorism, I was thinking do they get their much money to buy anything that they wanted, and I thought that they were using bitcoin as one of the reason why they can do that. On the contrary we should remember as people that we should used Bitcoin safely and enlightened our mind to have a knowledge to do good things which will not effect ourselves and our country.

Any form of currency or money as long as it has value can be used in crimes or any other stuffs similar to those things. The problem in here is not the bitcoin or other digital currency, it is those people who misuse this technology and use it on the way they want to use it without realizing that they can cause harm to other people or maybe they are just used to it. Even if the government regulates the use of bitcoin or other digital assets I don't think that they can stop criminality from spreading all over.  Smiley

Anything can be use for crime. But I believe bitcoin is not the source of this crime rate increase. I think the reason why they think that bitcoin is the source is because bitcoin had a bad record before. As we all know bitcoin was commonly used on the dark web for illegal transactions. I think that is the main reason why they see bitcoin as cause.

I believe that it is not the point here because crime are already here. Even outside crypto world crimes are there. Criminals will use you iether you are in a crypto world nor on our local areas as long as they believe they can get something from you.

I think we do not need to be hypocritical that bitcoin is really used for illegal activities or crime. bitcoin is perfect for this. decentralization and anonymity are very supportive for this action. so nonsense if bitcoin is not used for crime. although some users I know do not use bitcoin for crime. but the fact is that many people are not seen using bitcoin for crimes such as money laundering from corruption or crimes they commit, funding terrorists, and so on. and that is in line with the data presented by many governments and news

Bitcoin is being used for illegal asset transfers - buying Bitcoin in its own currency, selling it on a foreign exchange and then taking it out in U.S. dollars for a few minutes to complete the transfer of assets.

i doubt it.
criminal activities were happening even before bitcoin. for example the ransomware that everyone is talking about these days have been around a very long time before bitcoin was created!

and besides since bitcoin doesn't offer real anonymity it can not really help the criminals as much as things like hard cash helps them.

Attention should be paid to lawless elements who use bitcoin to do bad things: you may be able to escape but can not possibly disappear. Law enforcement officials can now use the public general ledger - the blockchain to learn where fictitious currencies are going and to track the whereabouts of alleged criminals.

Not all criminal activities can be linked with Bitcoin
Bitcoin cannot be used with any kind of criminal activities
But we can can agree that with the use of Bitcoins, those who are into ransom has increased their chances of not blowing up their cover.
Those who use money as payment to drugs, gun smuggling can use Bitcoin to pay and remain unknown
However, not every criminal in this world are into this kind of technology, keep in mind that there are more small time criminals out there that those who are big time and small time ones prefer cash and fast money.

Bitcoin's Global Circulation, Low Transaction Costs, Anonymous, Duty Free, Regulatory Immunity and Low Transaction Costs determine that it is vulnerable to criminals.

It is very wrong, it is wrong that the crimes are expanding with bitcoin. As the offenders are utilizing their money and any cash they find. It is a victim, it is exploited by criminals, they use bitcoins as a means to carry out their evil deeds. A lot of people think that bitcoin is only created to serve deepweb, but in fact, bitcoin has more uses, what is happening in the world is the way to prove it.

All i can say is, it's all possible to happen and i have no doubt of it. Criminals used everything that they think is useful for every illegal activities they do. Even crypto currencies, specially bitcoin which is decentralized and anonymously that makes untraceable every transactions they do, that can be a big help for them to hide their identity from the sender or receiver.

That is right, before bitcoin was ever created, fiats are being used for criminal activities, either paying people to kill people, laundering and other stuffs. If bitcoin is the reason why criminal is ever growing then why was there lots of crimes even before Bitcoin was created.  This is just dumb's reason to prevent Bitcoin to be in mainstream.  Probably those who are spreading news like these are scared that they will be put out of business if bitcoin became globally adopted.

No doubt that other bitcoin users use their bitcoin in a wrong way such as buy illegal drugs, firearms and it is also used by the criminal for some gun for hire(hitman) as fee. But it depends on bitcoin users where they will use their bitcoin. We can not do anything because bitcoin has two faces, all of the users have a freedom to use it wherever they like.

Of course bitoin is used for buying illegal stuff in deepweb and money laundering, but that, however, is only one side of the coin. Bitcoin is a techology and technology can be used for good and bad things, don't blame the weapon blame the person.

I think BTC is actually solves all the money laundering and criminal things.
Its open to see. All the transactions are there. That's what they always wanted, all the shady deals with cash are now public.Sure you can have many wallets, but its easy to figure out money flow.

To be honest, bitcoin is partly connected with criminal activity, there are criminals who, for illegal activities, they hide their cash flows, evade taxes  Roll Eyes
Partly that's true. Right now the US is even selling purchased bitcoins that had been taken from criminal elements. But if criminals use them - that's just an indication of their reliability and anonimity.

Just today I have read an article about criminality Bitcoins. It was informing the readers that each 10th BTC was stolen. However, the same things happen with fiat money, and ATM machines are often broken as well. I do not think Bitcoin affects criminal activities much.
