Matt, the company spokesman explained, “We are in the final stages of signing a groundbreaking deal with a leading Bitcoin ASIC manufacturer. Leveraging their 28nm chip technology

This really hinges on what chip they are using.

What do you mean exactly?  I wouldn't care if they had monkeys with abacuses calculating the hashes, as long as they are providing me with $6/gh/s.

I wouldn't care either if the farm was up and running. But it isn't. There are lots of 28nm chips in various stages. Which manufacturer they are using will greatly determine their ability to deliver on time. Has the chip taped-out or not? etc.

Yeah, that's a fair point.

Ok I used to support Terrahash, but this is a delay tactic. Get your money back, and walk.

They genuinely have a natural talent at getting screwed over, or they really are very shady.

This is marketing BS.

Sorry to bring up the protected payment method stuff again, but if they don't continue to offer it, stay well clear, unless you lot like getting burnt as much as they do.

They did give a 100% refund in 3 months option for anyone that wants it. That's not too bad.

Dude I respect you. I appreciate this, but every man needs to realise when it is time to stand-up and walk away from the table.

These guys walk around with a target on them, or perform zero due diligence in terms of negotiating business agreements.

Anyone dealing with Terrahash especially require the secutrity of third party payment protection, as you know full well they partner with the wrong crowd, consistently.

They definitely do nothing to cross the t's and dod the i's.

This is over.

Stand up from the table, and turn your back.

Walk, nay run.

Now.

They did offer this third party payment protection for their Avalon units.

As far as I know they've only "partnered" with Avalon and I'd say over 50% of this forum did as well through various group buys and everyone got screwed.

I do agree that they could have handled this mess a lot better and they are total shit in communication.

I still think they have time to figure out what exactly they should do for their avalon customers and are waiting til they know exactly what they can offer.

They also still have some time left for their "two week" timeframe for getting a board populated and sent out.

I'll take back everything I have said about Terrahash if they fail to deliver that working board at full spec or better.
Too bad the firmware is not even working 100% and BKK has not logged on even for 6 days, at this rate even with populated boards they will not be working unless BKK comes up with some finalized firmware

They also partnered with cloudhashing, which didnt turn out so well either.

From Zefir's thread...
Update: Order Status Change, future Refund Requests

Order Status Change
Today, the order status of our three remaining batches changed to 'Prepare-shipping', hope this means we'll see the chips soon.

Terrahash any updates on your avalon orders status ?

I don't like the offer TH provided for 6$/GHs in November. It is too far away to predict if it is worthwhile.
I will go for 100% refund.

Undecided  so that's the 'big announcement' ...  not so impressed.  if they offered smaller packages like 100/250/500ghs that might be something, but when i see something pushed as 'affordable' i think not only in terms of gh/$ but accessibility for the little guys (like myself).  $6/ghs is awesome, but if we have to spend a minimum of 3k to get that price it still excludes a lot of us small time hobby miners.  for example look at the saturn: they could offer something in the 200-250ghs range at a slightly higher price per gh, which would bring in more people / make them more money, and still be undercutting the competition by quite a margin.

here's to hoping our avalon powered boards will have some sort of historic/collector value someday!   Roll Eyes  lol

I would love to hear an update from TH. When can I get my refund? What's going on? When are you thinking of delivering? What happened with the chips? Did you get them? Etc etc etc

Fingers crossed.  Terrahash, what is the status of your avalon chip order?

Zefir and Sebastian ( may 11 ) got a "prepare shipping" for their  orders.

One of the assembled K64s, that I am trying to get running. Individual K16s are working with less than 1% error rate. There is some issue with I2C (board to board) communication, that I am hoping to iron out by tonight.

What's connecting the boards together?  I see an orange, yellow and green(blue?) wire connecting the 2 lower boards along with lots of red and black power wires, but they aren't connected to the 2 upper boards unless you've hidden wires on the back of the PCB to tangle into the fans.

I do not suffer fools gladly... "Captain!  We're surrounded!"

Probably working on getting it hashing with 2 boards...before 3/4 +, while you are online TH can you tell us if your chip order was updated?

That would be the prudent thing to do, I was just confused as it said the pics was an assembled K64, which I took to mean completed.

No update on our orders yet.

By the way, I am glad to see you guys moving more towards the future with hosting. Lets face it, hashing/mining BTC ourselves, is out growing all of us just way to fast to make any real profits. As in most things, there will be strength in numbers, such as 2 peta hash! and thus hopefully on going/continuing profit for all involved. So far I like the concept in theory. But, it will take the working miners in place for it to become reality. keep us posted! Smiley

Presumably their deal is with Cointerra.  It could also be ActM.

If you want to wait till November to hash, I'd get a refund and buy ActM shares. eASIC put out a press release talking about their chips.

http://www.easic.com/vmc-uses-easic-to-achieve-24-756-ths-bitcoin-miner/

I still think Labcoin is a better deal, but for people who JUST HAVE TO HAVE 28nm, this proves ActM has a real chip in the pipeline.

Yes have been watching cointerra, very impressive, but so is easic. They both are going BIG in design plans. This will get real interesting before the end of the year.
