I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential
I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well
But what do you think about it after 100 years ?
bitcoin have ability to survive longer but too many people try to destroy it. i will say bitcoin will end before 100 years

bitcoin will be developed into brand new form with basic principles but will have updated security and transaction aspects. Electronic funds will be average all over the world (for those who'll be able to have freedom lol I've watched a lot of anti utopic films)

The chance is there for a certain reason of having many investors and as the most establish cryptocurrency but because of bitcoin weaknesses like high transaction fee and others complaining of slow transaction this also could be lead to the competitors to find a way to bit bitcoin. But who knows this my words are still an opinion.

Such a question. Nobody knows what will happen to mankind in ten to twenty years, but what about the crypto currency, which can survive in 100 years? Well, I can not answer this question with accuracy, since I will not be around by this time, and this will not concern us in any way.

It might be possible for Bitcoin to survive that long, though it is starting to feel difficult since some country started to ban the use of Bitcoin...
Can't say for sure right now

Yes I do believe that bitcoin will survive even after 100 years because firstly it has come a long way since it had started and in this journey it has gained immense popularity and users through out the world. Secondly it’s success is evident from its regularly increasing prices. Which signifies that bitcoins demand is increasing day by day. So by keeping all these things in mind I think that bitcoin will survive even after 100 years.

100 years later? I hesitate to assume that in 100 years our generation will, by and large, be absolutely the same as what happens with bitcoin Perhaps our children will finish all our affairs to the end and they have a huge work to do so that bitcoin would stay afloat.

naa, i don't think BTC will survive another 100 years, for sure it will be replaced with something different based on the same idea. Shame we wouldn't be here to discuss the new coin or new technologies unless we get frozen and defrosted after another 100 years

100 years I dont know because many things cam happen tomorrow as you are saying future 100 years. I think it can not judgement. it can judge 5-10 years. It may come another technology after 20-30 years because people are running their alternative earnings. It is too hard to live with a single and limited income. So people are thinking unlimited income which can come from crypto market. after 10-15 years it may come another technology. any thing can happen.

I think it's possible that simply because no one thought in 1995 that Bill Gates could develop the internet so far, so it would be possible for a bitcoin to survive for 100 years, And if bitcoin can survive for 100 years then its price to $ 10 million is absolutely possible kaka

..Well 100 years is a very long period, we will not be here to see if Bitcoin will survive after this period or not. We can only predict and that's still not sure. In my opinion, if everything is ok in the world for the next coming 100 years, most likely Bitcoin and the crypto currencies will survive. But if something happened forcing connection to cut for example it would be impossible for Bitcoin to survive as it is dependant to Internet.

Bitcoin is going to survive even 500 years. The currency has evolved to stay and nothing is going to stop it. Just like every currency that has survived the since times of old. Bitcoin is going to reshape transactions and also reshape the world.

Our world is really dynamic therefore our environment is changing from time to time and I think bitcoin will survive after 100 years as long as there are people who will continually use bitcoin. Bitcoin will not be replaced but it will just be upgraded and continually patronize by people because of it's unique and very more secured system of bitcoin.

Well Bitcoin will still be mine-able after 100 years It's believed that around 2140~ish there won't be any bitcoin left to mine. However even if bitcoin runs out and no new bitcoin is mined that should only make it more valuable. Another thing to note is that if lightning network succeeds and other similar implementations ontop of the bitcoin blockchain or even a rather hard-fork that would solve the problems of high cost fees...etc of bitcoin then I don't see why it wouldn't last another 200+ years or even more as long as there is demand and users Bitcoin will be fine. Also I wonder if bitcoin will be the currency on other planets.. Okay maybe I took it too far but hey in the end it's bitcoin aka MR Unpredictable

Yes, Bitcoin is completely based on technology and value. People are showing interest towards Bitcoin for its price and the technology, even till now many companies are launching blockchain based technology, so Bitcoin is going to be a future currency until human being alive on this earth.

I agree with you. The number of companies that implement blockchain technology indicates that bitcoin has stepped up to become the world's currency even though the current state of bitcoin is still a polemic in various countries because of the rules applied by each country to the currency they use. But, I'm sure bitcoin will last as long as this earth has not endured from its age.

It will be hard to say that bitcoin will survive for 100 years or not but if it succeeds in doing so, we can expect it to replace mode of payments like PayPal.

Everyone of us might be gone then but bitcoin survives.
A good opinion and I support with what you give opinion. Satiap will surely survive if seeing bitcoin is very profitable and yielding, but if they are less knowledgeable about bitcoin then they will gradually leave the bitcoin, so we as equally bitcoin followers are less aware of the existence of bitcoin for the future.
