.
.
.

those cards have a nice price but I would prefer something on the level of a 1070 vs a 1060 for a mining card at ther $270 price the charge for those.

I have seen 8GB rx 570 cards for $265 lately , not as good wattage and heat control though for that tiny board.

Are you are worried about putting nanos so close together ? I have 40 nanos dual mining eth and DCR and they run Hot as hell even in my new well cooled garage
73 degrees or so at 55% fan.

On the flip side 400 series cards run at 70 degrees 40% fan, I guess its not a huge difference.  I would not like to place them so close together though.

The Nanos are modded with Heliox ROMs, -100mv undervolted and slightly overclocked, served me well close to 2 years now, ROIed at least 2 times ... glad I kept the Nanos - its a powerful ZEC GPU, come life after ETH.

My GPU farm is in a high-ceiling leased warehouse, so cooling is pretty much under control. I can put them Nanos with razor thin spacing and get them cranked up within 70s temps - with back fans.

The warehouse has 17 units - floor fans - blowing upwards to circulate heat towards the exhaust. I use 6 x huge industrial metal fans to redirect and exhaust out the hot air and aided by 2 x air extractor/blower units when temps hits the threshold.

Will post pix if possible - but my co-investors are paranoid about sharing pix of the farm on the Internet.... LOL. I will take some pix discreetly.

I noticed that GPU and mobo pricing are looking "normal" at Amazon and Newegg.... my suppliers in China are also doing more bundles now - I suspect they are overstocked.

Oh i see your Nanos are modded and you have a great cooling setup so this might be a go to setup for you.  Yeah my nanos are around a year old as well and have ROIED for sure.
of the 30 i have only 1 ever died and RMAED it with no issues.

The dream setup for you and others like me who need more spacing between the larger CPUs are those colorful boards with 8 nicely spaced PCI-E slots.

Yeah pics of your farm should not even be a big deal but you have to respect the wishes of your investors lol I feel u.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Hello everyone,

Has anyone here experimented with the immerson cooling technology from 3M? https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/novec-us/applications/immersion-cooling/

Seems to me a very effective way of cooling  and leads me to many questions:
  • If a is water block system can be filled with such liquid?
  • Or is is available in small quantities to small miners?

Greetings

Novec  is the chemical

it is not available on small scale.

And you don't put it into a waterblock

you dip your gear into a tank filled with it.

the pipes carry off the heat see below

Yeah here's a video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIbnl3Pj15w

It's a efficient way of heat transfer. Copper pipes in a sealed tank carrying water, then using an external radiator to cool the water.

But the liquid and startup cost alot. Better to spend the money on more gpus.

I saw a video about how this dude transfer heat from his GPU farm to heat up his swimming pool using a old car radiator

I know it's a lot, but the perfection of such a system is spectacular:D Just think about how many Gpus without cooling boards would fit inside such a case ....

Why?

I had about 4 BCC mined at ViaBTC BCC pool the other week but sold all them for BTC.

@Marvell2
My guy in China said that it was briefly in the market the Colorful 8 x slot board but was gone fast - rumors was it was bought by some HK company -- conspiracy theory was to do BTG mining.... so they say... that would have been a perfect board with the 2400w Deltas.

Normally I would say no for this.

As you should be using an exchange.

I have .8888 bcc. And I am miningsomeas I type.

So I could sell some to you.

Pm me for details.

Maybe he wants it to buy a s-9

If you post pictures of your mine, remember to strip all information from the photos first.  some photos may have location data imbedded (phone pic with GPS), etc.  Its not being paranoid, some people in the crypto world are try-hard criminals.  Although the risk of such things happening are very very very low.

That's what one of my co-investor said and not taking pictures of the farm for Internet distribution.

There is a feature in Android to disable "Location Tags" (don't know about IOS) which I use when sharing pix here.

there are tools that will strip exif data from pictures in bulk, or you can do it in windows one at a time via the properties option. also, as you mention most android phones have an option to not include that data.

Hi guys, i need help with my rig.
Long story short, I have 5 cards instead of 6 showing in windows and i don't know why. Huh

I don't want to hijack the thread so here is the link to the topic I made with more details, if some of you can drop by and offer wisdom, it would be much appreciated. Smiley

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2247989.new#new

i'm off but i'll read when i get back in a few hours.

Ty guys  Smiley

This worked on my Zotac P106 x 6, on older H81 mobo.

Before only 4-5 GPUs were recognized using latest NVIDIA drivers - then again, risers are probably also the likely culprit

Apply this P106 specific NVIDIA package - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-_jcpU1s5dgejJJZzBTWVFJYzQ/view?usp=sharing

You can push it to core 100, mem 800, PL 99 to achieve ETH 22-23MHs

small update here, got the 6 cards showing, i installed your driver (same ones as i have on my computer to mine with my 1060 6G)
I got others issues but fixed it.
Now, i have a new problem. Miner is not stable and it seems i can't OC to what you advise me to do.

here is the problem:

when i let the rig on and mining, at one point i get this :

http://imageshack.com/a/img924/8324/GOew4p.jpg

and/or this :

http://imageshack.com/a/img922/1346/KgYv9J.png

It's hard to screen because when miner crashes, it's laggy as fuck. It takes me like 3 to 5 minutes just to save the screenshot... next time i'm gonna use my phone and take pictures of my screen like a fucking retard Cheesy, way faster than waiting for nothing.

I read driver error somewhere (not showing on the screen i think). One time it lasted 4 hours, next time not even 30 minutes.
Do you have any idea what to do?

hmmm... on smOS, the rig is running 2 days straight with full OC (but XMR mining, 406watts last time I check)

Are you ETH mining? Dual or Single? for P106 - I think best to get to do ETH only (no dual mining).

Can you try non-OC settings 150 core, 500 mem and PL 65 ?

ONDA D1800 BTC board on 6 x R9-Nanos

Looks like spacing is sufficient with a back fan - got to power these workhorses on this mobo tomorrow.

I need to do a lot of cleaning first... these little guys did heavy lifting most of 2015/2016.

Will work on 1080ti tomorrow....

Nice, Citronick.
Is there enough space between these cards? Them being blower-style probably prevents most heat "cross-contamination"... What temps/fan speed are they mining at?

Hi guys! Thanks for the thread, I enjoy reading it every day Smiley

I've just bought 2x Delta's 2400W with 2x PICO adapters so I can connect the PSU's to my MB's, but both MB's won't start when I press the power on switch. It just spins for 2-3 sec the CPU fan and that's all. I see the PICO has a 4 pin connector for CPU and motherboard has a 8 pin connector... but on parallel miner site says that should work. Both MB are Biostar TB250-BTC Pro v6.0, so I'm thinking I've miss something.

PICO adapters: http://www.parallelminer.com/product/160watt-24pin-atx-power-module-included-sata-molex-cpu-power-connectors-bypass-your-atx-power-supply-entirely/#close

MB: https://www.amazon.com/Biostar-Motherboard-TB250-BTC-PRO-Supports/dp/B0736PV196

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks.

The rig is not powered up yet - will continue tomorrow - for illustration only to show the spacing.

The Nanos have big compute cores and HBM Gen 1 - so they can do very well in ZEC and XMR but likely will sell Cryptonite hash at NH.

They can do 31-29MHs ETH during the early 2016 days. All my Nanos are undervolted -100mV using Heliox ROMs, so they can endure decent abuse without overheating or high power consumption.

These Nanos has lived through hell before with only chopsticks in between them - LOL!

I have an old pix of the Nanos below - notice the chopsticks - the mobo used is Biostar GT7 Racing boards.

With the migration to D1800 board, these Nanos will surely love their new home.

Are you powering one Delta per rig?

I have the same board and 1 single delta can power up 12 x RX470 (modded and undervolted, slightly OCed).

I suspect not enough power to the motherboard.

During the first boot - get 4-5 cards working first and ensure 4G is enabled on mobo BIOS.

After successful boot up with 4-5 cards, then get the remaining cards's risers inserted.

Yes, one Delta per rig, I wanted to build 2 rigs of 8 Vega64, but it seems I'm stuck. For the moment I have on both rigs 1 x Vega, on one rig it's in the 16x slot and in another is on riser. Still no luck, both are not powering up.

How did you connect the Delta from 12 x Rx470 rig with the Biostar MB? Also with the 160W PICO adapter?
