So I'm trying to get a summary here.. most of these no-riser boards look to be only nVidia happy? No AMD support?

Hi Vosk - Congrats on getting 12 x 1080tis with the H110 - thats a monster rig!All my H110s are powered by a single 2400w Deltas with standard 150w PICO kits. All my GPUs are RX470s, which uses a single cable with dual heads - one 6pins to the risers and one 6+2 pins to the GPUs. These are custom cables that I got from my supplier (captminer) - very handy and avoids having to have multiple cables using additional ports on the breakout boards. So total ports consumed is 13 for GPUs and 1 for PICO kit. The board has NO molex power installed because its runs at aggressively undervolted to hit about 1700-1800watts total (also I want to avoid any ATX PSUs on these builds). During ETH mining it does about 26-27MHs per card as I intended it to peak so that the whole rig runs super stable and the Deltas runs strong but not too hard ~ avoids getting the Deltas triple fans going apeshit berserk producing that jet engine sound. This will also enable me to keep each rig under 10A, so I that can run two 13 x GPU rigs under single 20A circuit with good safety buffer. The rigs are all selling Cryptonite hash currently at Nicehash - so the total wattage is even lower. I have 5 of these H110 based rigs in production - very stable but it wont win the fastest rig under its class. That "fastest" title will be on the 1070s - each hitting 31.5MHs. Hope to get the Colorful riserless boards going with the NVIDIAs soon.

Have no amd cards to test. maybe citronik has tested a rig with them.

At least from my testing -- yes, looks like NVIDIA only..... however that doesn't make sense because the OS should pick AMD too. Will post results soon. Have no amd cards to test.
maybe citronik has tested a rig with them.
My main intention is to upgrade my older farm with Nanos, 390s and 480s -- so I will select a few unlucky AMD rigs from the old farm to be dismantled to do the testing. That will require some downtime so I am going to lose a few bucks

That's why I'm confused.. it's just PCIe bus.. why would the board only be good with nVidia and not AMD? Oh well, I look forward to everyone's updates.

yeah there are now six or seven boards. I have tested this one and can do 8 1070's with ease. This may be the best one for a guy like me: one 30 amp 240 volt mining line in a garage. I believe 4 of these can run on a 240 volt 30 amp line with 32 1070's at about 4000 watts pretty much perfect for a garage setup just 4 rigs. this comes today will start to test it today

Ahhh! wondered what caused the +~$400-500 price bump overnight lol! That bump aside, this alleviates a lot of worry for me. I had read some very disturbing things about what could have happened if this was executed, which had me seriously considering liquidating a decent % of my portfolio. At least now I can rest a bit easier. Thanks for posting!

Don't be too sure about that... as of now at least, most alts making a nice comeback. BTC dropped back down to about $7500 but many alts starting to tick up at the same time... many approaching double-digit % gains!: ETH - up to $311 XMR - up to $107 ZEC - up to $247 Dash - up to $305 if this holds/continues... it will be the incentive i need to finally start upgrading my RX 470 rigs ;-)

And they're still chugging along nicely. I've been contemplating a Vega56 rig for a while but I just can't seem to make the step. Mostly for logistical reasons... But time to breakeven is definitely a big factor.

Vega at this point only seems to be good with Monero - and only then on Win 10 as the bloody blockchain driver needed to get good Monero hashrate DOESN'T WORK on Win7. (Perhaps LINUX, as I think AMD finally got around to updating the LINUX driver). Thank goodness I didn't get my Vega 56 card with the intent of mining on it.

any new news about VEGA AIB versions? Till now I would expect some cards with better cooling but nothing seems to hit the market yet.

Update regarding mining on the balcony ~ Fans run ~50%. GPU temps ~64C I am able to OC core clock to +200 (1080ti). No noise issues It seems like a good idea to mine on the balcony

There's a big question mark when it comes to nVidia GPUs however. Many algos that nVidia GPUs are better at seem to be targets for ASICs. The best example is what the new Baikal is claiming to achieve. Algos like ETHash or Cryptonight (or whatever HBM2 seems to excel at) are probably more future proof for GPUs. At least that's what I'm reading.

XMR is what I ran my 470 to Vega-56 ROI scenario on as it appears Vega can get close to 3x the hashrate of my 470's on Cryptonite algo. Assuming I could get $200 each for my 470's and replaced them with 4 Vega56's, I figure my ROI at only about 60 days. That is also assuming a total at wall wattage of 1KW for the 4x Vega's. Anyone here know if that is close? I'm assuming that I cannot go any higher than 4 Vega's mainly due to lack of extra 8-pin PCIe power connectors. My 1200W PSU only has 4 x2 so if both power ports need to be filled on Vega's I think this would be limited to 4 of them. But, if those 4 will take anywhere close to 1000w then I wouldn't have enough headroom to add a 5th Vega anyway. This isn't quite a no-brainer yet but if XMR were to have a few more good days and hold, it's probably a worthwhile endeavor... at least on 1 of my 4 rigs to start.

Okay the second board came today. I dropped an i5 7500t in it and a 16g sodimm ddr4 stick of cruical ram this board cost me more . about 200 for the sample. the good : on off button no cpu 8 or 4 pin no 24 pin 8x 6 pin pcie in the photo i have is wrong so I have to try to take a photo. give me a bit of time. this new board is 100 % server friendly I need to figure what he sent to me as it does not match to photo above. it is better not worse. now the m12 I have been testing has an issue or two. it will do 8 1070's it will even do 1 1080 ti and 7 1070's but it does not want to do 2 1080 tis and 6 1070's it throttles 1 card. my suspicion is the board senses the draw in the 8 slots and caps so you don't melt the molex or the sata feeds. so for now I am doing 5 x 1070's and 2 1080 ti's about 3550 sols. the new board seems nicer then I thought I ordered. almost perfect. I don't think it is going to do 8 1080 ti's we will see.
