have tried to mine lbry with x10 with giant b image all share discarded Sad

Can some linux expert modify giant B image for giant X10  ?

There seems to be an assumption that the Giant X10 and Giant B use the same or very similar hardware. Do we know this to be true?

Without all the source code, it will be difficult to do anything as decompiling will just create a mess.

http://www.lateralfactory.com/scripta-litecoin-mining-distribution-for-raspberry-pi/   We have only this source code.  I look into .img file - There are soo many files, that are 100% same as giant x10.  Good thing is to sort files by last modification date.

Ok - that's the open source stuff. What Baikal source code do you have?

Does anyone have any Baikal Giant X10 or B red miner blade boards that are bricked and wouldn't mind parting ways with (since they're not doing any mining for you anyway)? I'd like to do some testing with at least one board from each miner (X10 and B) but don't have that hardware on-hand. Thanks.

I tried the same thing and got the same result. All shares discarded. Interestingly, it does up the clock speed of the chips to 400MHz, so this offers some hope for the overclocking potential.

If anyone has access to a Giant B and is willing to run a few commands on it for firmware testing, please let me know.

no just the stock image

but it recognize the board, i only plug one board to avoid that others get damaged
i get a hashrate of ~13 ghs which fits to the data sheet 3*~13=40ghs for lbry

i think the is a line of code which avoid mining

Some people may not have the slightest idea of how this works and yet try to hack stuff from Baikal-B into this. These machines are FPGA based, it's not the software the one doing the hashing, it's the FPGA chips. There is no "decompiling" or hacking sgminer that can help you there. If the FPGA chips are different, most likely the bitstream for the FPGA just won't work on the other chips.

Yes, but that brings me idea... Giant x10 will support two more algo. So ? Those chips are allready programed to do these algos. OR There is way to re-program stock giant x10 image to do another algo.

Yeah, I believe that for algo change firmware update should be performed too, not only Orange PI Zero image. There is firmware published only for Baikal Mini. When Baikal decides that it is enough money for them, they will release firmware with two more algos for X10.

Even if the FPGAs are identical, if the PCB layout is different i.e. expects an input and you program an output... fireworks.

Hi,

Restore the X10 image on the X10 SD card
Boot the X10
Rename folder /opt/scripta to /opt/scripta2 on the X10
Copy folder /opt/scripta from Giant B image to X10 (with winscp)
Reboot X10
And try lbry again ...
This will run X10 image with scripta Giant B miner  Wink
Thank you very much for yours tests

Dude, if you need a tutorial, you shouldn't be testing this!

Wait for someone else to see if it works and then see if they will share instructions. I don't think it will work, but I would love to be proved wrong!

Anyway, why change an X10 to Giant B? X10 can still make lots of $$ daily!
