Just beware everyone. Proof of stake blocks are flooding the network due tothe long pause on cryptsy ect. Pow blocks are getting orphaned but the difficulty will double in 4 hours and we will begin to see imrovment. This is really a good test fro the fix. Going well overall Smiley

Those would be proof of stake blocks. The code to fix the 0 reward is already implemented it becomes active on 9-7-2013 00:00:00 GMT

Thanks for all of your work on this Mullick.

Yes, half the POW blocks I solo mined are orphaned. At the pool http://cap.coinmine.pl long strings of blocks are being orphaned. I have received several POS rewards, most flooding within 10 minutes of starting the client. ...Many after being generated repeatedly but not being accepted by the network.

Blockchain download/syncing was finally clean in in this version. No restarts needed.

What difficulty will double in 4 hours, POW? How is it possible to predict what the difficulty will be in 4 hours?

PoS difficulty will double in four hours letting the PoW guys start finding blocks again.

Due to conditions in the code the POS difficulty adjustment is based on a 4 hour window. It has a maximum adjustment of 200% every 4 hours. But it adjusts every block just like the POW difficulty.

 The POS difficulty will likely maximize its adjustment at least once more maybe twice. It will be interesting to see as this is the biggest flood of POS block I have seen. They will be gone rather quickly i would assume and the difficulty will drop again but much much less blocks will be generated.

This is exactly why 1 minute stake spacing is not a good idea. Its a good thing other conditions prevent the chain from generating them that fast. Otherwise it would always be like this. For now its not causing any problems since under normal conditions they cannot be generated quickly enough. It is an issue that will need to be addressed in the distant future. Its just due to everyone holding off on staking their coins and suddenly unleashing the coinage on the network right now

Thank you for the update with BottleCaps V1.5 - mullick, John's and others.  Grin

My BottleCaps coin wallet's appear to be updating OK.

addnode=80.229.2.127

which is currently downloading a fresh blockchain with 24 connections already - it takes a while to write to the SD card on an old Asus Eee PC, although it runs stable once downloaded.  Cheesy

Updated the link to V1.5 on the free web proxy: http://bottlecaps.cc.ai

Again, its a rather random free domain name, although the proxy host is a good one. If it gets enough traffic I'll consider registering a TLD. I'll start promoting it to some lists within 24hrs. Also changed the pool link to http://cap.coinmine.pl - will bottlecapspool.com be back online soon ?

Cheers!

Wow, instantly got 11 connections, without any "connect" hacks or even one addnode or peerlist...

This will be a fun next few days with all the POS blocks...

Raise your asking values, to adjust for losses of orphans... Don't settle for less than 0.0005 (at the least). Let those other guy sell for a loss, and swipe some of them up for yourself. Once the diff climbs back up, it will get back to 0.001 and higher.

There is about to be a big cashout on BTC, once it hits $150, or 20,000 BTC is available for $130/BTC avg. Those major ballers with the THs machines have been holding-out, because they just can't cash-out for less anymore, but they will cash-out.

Read up a bit the Proof of Stake is working now so the difficulty is low but finding blocks once the Proof of Stake Difficulty adjusts this wont be an issue. Its actually a good thing that is happening means its working right as the difficulty adjusts this wont be an issue.

Mine faster... Tongue

This is why I believe POS should be a completely separate chain. No competition with POW that way. Valid coins just move from POW to POS, and back again, as a normal transaction, with no ability to "spend" the POS coins in the separate chain.

That, or simply have POS as a special "NOTE", with a 0.0tx, with the NOTE being the POS hash. (The only 0.0tx allowed by the system, with the following one being the actual POS transfer that gets returned to your wallet when it expires, but the accumulated total used for POS reward.)

Thanks for the coinmine pool. I was using Big Verns pool but he shut it down. So I guess I will go over there. Even though he put it back on cryptsy who knows when the pool will open back up

I've been watching POS difficulty since I installed the new client and it's been pretty steady. It fluctuates from block to block, but doesn't seem to be trending anywhere. My proof of stake rewards have stopped personally. Let's see what happens.

22:50:05
{
"proof-of-work" : 1.37519673,
"proof-of-stake" : 0.00398760,
"search-interval" : 1
}

Still seeing orphans in the droves at the pool, much more than confirmed blocks. Not mining this obviously. Waiting to see what will happen. Here's something interesting though.  Block 97560 was orphaned twice at the pool. is this even possible?

Any way to get this block explorer updated? It's very useful to see what's going on with the network.
