thats pretty much the same so far but over a week we should get a meaningful number.  All bets are off !

yeah it is a fair test  as far as I can tell.

I see BTC as the super highway and alt coins as taxis and trucks needed to move transactions.

Scorpio, pools do not know your hashrate, they only estimate it.

Hi Bimmber

would you please explain to us how the pool works? usually how pool estimate the hashrate?

Scorpio, pools do not know your hashrate, they only estimate it.

and a 1 day test is not accurate as 900 sols could simply have a bad day  and vary a lot  as much as 10%  since the pool decides your rate by the shares you submit

May I ask how many days test would be more accurate Huh How to make the test more accurate? How about 3 days?

Okay
for testing bminer against dstm to test the software you need 2 identical rigs pointed to the same pool running simultaneously

you need 2 identical rigs..  test 3 days  in a row at the same time on the same pool from the same gigabyte switch

rig a on bminer rig b on dstm  after 3 day test reverse

rig b on bminer rig a on dstm after 3 day test reverse

rig a on bminer rig b on dstm after 3 day test reverse

rig b on bminer rig a on dstm after 3 day test stop and tally

in theory bminer should do a  better avg.

now I have two identical rigs  both are omen hp rigs with a pair of 1080ti's in them.

I did some testing with a lot of rigs pointed to   nicehash  but I will set up the omens  and leave them

running.

So I just  set up 2 rigs on simple mining

both are omen hp.co with
i5 8400 cpu
8 gb ram
750 watt psu
2x 1080ti's
clocks are
 130 core
 600 ram
  69c  temp
   73 fan
155 watts

clocks are the same

they  are pointed to new btc account at nicehash.  all that matters it the btc number all other stats are bullshit.  I pointed them within 1 minute of each other.

I will come back and show results in a day.

I will then show results in 2 days

and then show results in 3 days

the one one the left is dstm

👍really impressive

I will stick to Bminer.

There is nothing impressive, difference between them two is very very small as you can see from Nicehash screenshot. Even bminer can handle higher OC, shows more sol/s in console, in reality in doesn`t translate in much higher valid share count on pool side.

Hi Bminer team,
is it possible for you to include some more information in the API response? Maybe in the next update?
I think it would be nice to get the GPU name, the pool and the user in the response.

Let me know what you think about it.

I realize I can do lots of tests here to show many software programs against each other and how they stack up.

Having the 2 identical machines purchased on the same day and shipped to my house on the same day allow for a chance to fairly compare the various programs used on smos simple mining

test has just started about 9 hours.

bminer is better so far.

but that could simply be one omen dual 1080ti is better.

after 24 hours we switch software and see if  the better rates follow bminer to second omen

To Developer: It would be very useful to see in statistic how many shares were send to developer too. And we need to see an exact time of working miner, because when the miner work about 20 hours the API report "a day" but not 21h 20min for example. Is it possible to add it in the future update?

This tests don't have power consumption comparision.

yes they do  wait for screen shot
all gpus are set to
155 watts

all settings are the same, but  for the  actual power drawn  I need to stop at friends office and put the same meter on each one.

that  will be done in time  as I have to use the same k-watt meter as no k-watt meters are identical. so to test power would interrupt this stage of the test.

I SEE THAT bminer is reading higher cores with the same settings  look at screen shot .  this indicates how higher hash may be acheived.  it may also mean  the higher you do tdp and set the core clocks there will be a difference  between the 2 softwares.

Ie in a closed case at 155 watts  a  1080ti bminer wins
in an open case at 205 watts a 1080ti dstm wins
Much more complex  to test for but I can do it with the two identical pc's if I can cool the cards off

Hi Bimmber

would you please explain to us how the pool works? usually how pool estimate the hashrate?

well you don't need to know that  and it varies pool to pool.
But it is a good question.  So here is an attempt to explain it.

They all count your good shares submitted to them.

They then  devide them by a time limit

and they say a rate.

That  is only an estimate  because you can toss  lots of (7's)  in a give time frame  and look like you have a higher rate then you do.

Of lots of good shares in hour 1 = high hash
followed by no shares in hour 2 = low hash

the reality is your tosses of the dice  per hour are your true hash rate
but pools only count  your good shares per hour  thus it is an estimate.

19 hours into first part of the test.

and bminer is 5% more earnings.

now  this is one of six parts to do a decent test.

part 1 24 hour test -------------  19 hours done

part 2 24 hour test flip the software
part 3 20 min  test  check power use on rig 1 with bminer
part 4 20 min test check power use  on rig 1 with dstm
part 5 20 min test check power use on rig 2 with bminer
part 6 20 min test check power use on rig 2 with dstm

Hi everybody! Smiley

Dear developer,

please, do something about permanent "updating" at the start of miner.
[INFO] [2018-03-15T23:11:01+06:00] Checking updates
[WARN] [2018-03-15T23:11:31+06:00] Failed to read from the network: Get : net/http: request canceled while waiting for connection (Client.Timeout exceeded while awaiting headers)

and so on.

bminer.me and bminercontents.com are unreachable because of provider block or something similar - downloading somewhere.
i suppose that is the key to the problem!

really many people got the problem with this "updating" feature.
its a problem because when "updating" finished, mining simply could not start with probable error. you waiting 5+ minutes - then an error. and starting over with config changes.

thank you!

1st 24 hour test shows bminer is a clear winner  5%  on the plus

new test I flipped the pc's

so if  the pc was the reason  for success  and not the bminer this will show  the totals to get closer
but if the  bminer was the reason  and not the pc    the totals will get further apart in the favor of bminer.

be back in a day!

Hello!

You performing nice test.
Already made this test on 1080Ti and got +9,6% and +2,6% after flipping tasks (in ZECs).
More Sols in miner, less Sols on pool, but more shares and money on pool as the result.

For good statistics we need more tests, especially when the winning not so high.

If it is to believed pool hashrate is correct, then Bminer does overstate hashrate in console by a big margin...

I think it would be nice to get the GPU name, the pool and the user in the response.

Let me know what you think about it.

We would love to help:
Just understand your requests, you want to include the following two information in REST API response:

1.Device name: Something like "GTX 1080 Ti"?
2.Pool/User: We can put the whole uri path in REST API. This should contain all information include pool address and the user name. Is it enough?

there is a really detailed answer to this problem here.
