"In a nutshell, the network works like a distributed
timestamp server, stamping the first transaction to spend a coin. It
takes advantage of the nature of information being easy to spread but
hard to stifle." -- Satoshi

https://dero.io/Whitepaper.pdfTLS implemented - not in the fucking code. Ultrafast optimizations verifies Dero bulletproofs 10 times faster than other/original bulletproof implementations. These guys claim they got bulletproofs 10x faster, are they better than nchain? DO NOT TRUST THIS PROJECT

Almost like a paid "hero" status doesn't mean much.

I find this coin really interesting. What should I be aware of, though? I've seen a lot of FUD about it, but it's also one of the few from-scratch blockchains.

I wonder why Nick Szabo suggested removing TLS It was pretty clear in his tweet. He did not think that Dero should rely on a trusted third-party, but each user can use exclusive nodes to work around that for now. It should be noted that TLS was an additional feature added to help prevent mass traffic analysis. Captain stated in his reply to Nick Szabo that another solution will be researched after SC/DVM implementation. The start of the 2019 Roadmap.

Dero is an excellent project... very interested in the theory behind the dag structure and how it affects liveness. There must be a max depth at which point it won't accept duplicate blocks on the same height?
