2.  IDK (is that really a good idea?)

In most cases no it probably is a very very bad idea.  However I am planning to experiment with immersion cooling.  If the chip uses 250W nominal and there are two regulators that is 125W each.  It is 88% efficient that means 142W in (12 VDC) and 125W out (~0.8 VDC) which leaves 17W converted to heat.  Eyeballing the diagrams they look to be roughly 2.5 cm2 so we are talking a heat flux of ~6W/cm2.  Fluorinert critical heat flux is > 15 W/cm2.   I would prefer to remove the heatsinks if they can be removed.  They look to be pretty tall (40 to 60mm) and that limits how closely I can stack the boards.

Quote
3.  AFAIK the radiator they're using is

Thanks for the links.

In the review it looks like it performed @ 10.7 W/C.  That should be more than fine for a single chip (250W) but two chips (500W) would mean something like 46C above ambient.  Then again maybe they plan on upgrading the fans or the chips are fine with higher operating temps.

They indicate the chips clocks up and down based on temps I do wonder what is the targeted operating temp.

Before purchasing the "upgrade" I would like to know a few things, because after all the "sales" and not really much information provided, it seems that all HF cares by the moment is getting more and more money. So:

- Really aproximate shiping date of the babyjet batch 1 ? Batch 2?
We dont really need an exact day and hour, but as it seems that you have already ordered the pcb manufacturing, everything goes as planed with the chips and I suposse that you have an estimate number of babyjets to assenbly per day, just please give us a real date of both batches so we can estimate if it is worthy to purchase this extra or not.
- This special and extra chip will be given by the same time as the 2 batch of babyjet and sierras shipped, right ?
So if we make the purchase of this extra, which will be the queue we are added on ? We are going to be added after or before the people that already purchased that units ?

- With the power supply included in this extra unit, will be enough to make OC to both chips ?

- Notices of the  hosting plan ? Hosting fees ?

And I thin that with that is enough for the moment  Cheesy

The stock PSU's ability to overclock depends on your local temperature/humidity and the (random) silicon quality of your chips.

Hosting is being negotiated.  HashFast probably doesn't want to make profit on hosting, I think they just see it as a great way to add value for customers (and thus increase sales).

Everything is going according to plan.  Chips are still on schedule for delivery the week of Oct 20th.

Literally acres of capacity have been arranged, so the assembly/testing/shipping phase will be brief and without bottlenecks.

I believe the special extra chips for batch one customers will ship around the same time as batch 2.  So the queues will be separate, and not in competition for fulfillment.

Don't worry, HashFast will have plenty of chips for everyone's orders.

The adults have arrivedTM.

This seems to be the best around.

I think I'll get a first batch with Express Shipping (the cheapest is like 370$, this one is 400$).

Seems legit right?

it is the best around.

chips incoming around Oct 17.

The Updated Order Chain for Batch 1 Baby Jets,  Batch 1 Baby Jets Backorders, and Baby Jet Upgrade Kits are now available on our site. Batch 2 Order Chain coming soon!

I'm sure you're already aware of it, but the upgrade kit order chain looks like this for me:
Order IDDateTimeNo. Baby JetsTotal Sold
Complete9/24/20131:33:00U19441
Complete9/24/20132:00:00U19472
Complete9/24/20132:00:00U19481

From that I guess the No. Baby Jets column is actually the Order ID and the Total Sold column is the No. Upgrade Kits

There's definitely a few BFL jokes there...

I talked to Cara on the phone a week ago regarding the details of several HF Group Buy orders for our Miners Cooperative.

She said that they're still on track for shipping out the last week of October. My understanding is that the first Batch chips will be hand carried and personally flown over from Asia by one of the HF team members.

We should have went with KnC miners.

Figures that I chose another BFL.

Ha! I'm hardware neutral and I've dealt with both companies. One (BFL) is permanently banned from my at-cost Miners Cooperative Group Buys, and the other one has about $30K of our Co-op's BTC for 2 Baby Jets and 2 Sierras thanks to the MPP and pricing.

HashFast has been *nothing* like BFL in all of my dealings with them. John S. doesn't go out of his way to belittle or berate his paid customers on forums, and I've found him & their Customer Service to be professional (if a bit slow, at times, due to their small team size).

Please don't toss HF into the same boat as BFL and Avalon until they've actually done something, anything, that intentionally hurts the miner community like BFL and Avalon.

We will see how it goes. I dont much care how they treat people in a niche market. That is emotional and irrelevant. Simply perform. Thats all I ask. I've seen absolutely no performance from HashFast. I've seen words. When I see people getting the product they paid for, THEN its performance. Until then, I see BFL. They hold they key to their own cage.

I don't understand why you are so bitter. HashFast claims they are on schedule. They never promised to deliver before Oct 20. KNC did promise shipping in September and their first units did not go out to Octoboer, so while it was a just few days, they were actually late. Also KNC was priced significantly higher than HashFast. I personally have a order from both companies and I'm happy with them so far. I also own Avalon and BFL miners and I am EXTREMELY unhappy with both of them.

OK, i never get screwed in these deals. And i am also invested in hashfast. So...
