In the next year ETH will overtake BTC as the number 1 cryptocurrency.  I would unload your bitcoin while you still can.

I'm not sure that this will happen this year. Moreover, I think that this will never happen. Bitcoin is a pioneer, it is understandable for society and its success does not depend on the development of technology. Yes, no matter how trite it might sound, it plays the role of digital gold. This is the most liquid and desirable coin.

I doubt it very much, as for me it is unlikely that some kind of crypto currency will be surpassed by bitcoin. It is the world's equivalent to gold in the world crypto currency. But the Ethereum is not so, it's for sure and will not be so.

I think ethereum has the best technology and it is completely different when compared to bitcoin. It's smart contract platform is unique.
It will take a long time for it to overtake Bitcoin.

ETH is definitely one of the best altcoins. And better than bitcoin is some ways. But I don't think it would overtake BTC. Recent Bitcoin dips have put many in doubt but Bitcoin is first cryptocurrency ever. Hence I think it is kind of unlikely for Ethereum to overtake bitcoin.

I think that ethereum is really strong alt and it have proven it's strength with the days but I am afraid of that the technology of smart contracts will be challenged by other technologies.

Crypto World is unpredicable but ETH can not take over BTC because whole crypot market is governed by BTC.When BTC fall all other Altcoins including ETH fall and vise versa as you can observe now a days.If in future ETH evolve itself with something unique and recognized worldwide then we can think that BTC time is over but right now there is nothing to compare.ETH is more improved in technology than BTC but can not overpower BTC.It will take time but its possible.

When you compare Bitcoin and Ethereum, I'm surprised. Yes, Ethereum is a promising token. But the difference in their price is too great for comparison.
It is interesting to see how the situation will change in a few years. But today Bitcoin is simply unattainable for the rest of the coins.

I think Ethereum don't have chance to overtake Bitcoin. However it's price won't go down so much. Because there a lot of tokens and when you sent them you still need to have ethereum in order to pay fee.

This may happen, but this option is unlikely. Now when the cryptocurrency market is falling BTC domination grows. So, bitcoin shows who's the daddy.

Personally I agree with anyone who says that etherium can replace bitcoin, I think etherium is very popular lately., but maybe it will not happen since no one knows what might happens in this markets of cryptocurrencies because it is very hard to predict. Last year people said Ethereum will reach 100usd in 2018 but it reach 1000usd instead so It is almost impossible to predict the crypto market, the market is not stable yet.

ETH might overtake BTC in a number of ways:

- Highest value

- Highest market cap

- Largest community acceptance

Of these three, only the last one might happen in a couple of years due to the fact that a large number of tokens are ETH based.

But when it comes to price/marketcap, ETH has a loooooonnng way to go  Grin

I think that even if this happens, bitcoin still remains the most liquid and convenient coin. Bitcoin is the foundation and symbol of crypto. Perhaps he will always remain first. People who are far from crypto will always buy bitcoin.

I doubt that the Bitcoin will be in second place. I do not think that Ethereum or some other altcoin will take its place. After all, who is the first one, that is the leader. For a long time, they want to move Bitcoin from the first place, but nobody can do it))
