I have checked the Bitfence Twitter and found a post and a picture of a sting miner. It looks very small and will protect you from hackers while earning crypto. I want this tiny sting miner now.
https://twitter.com/BitFence_/status/994395208967249920

This is awesome to see, I'm glad the team have published and given us a insight as to what this miner actually looks like. I can't wait for the release, I myself; will most definitely be getting one.
I'm in love with this Stingminer. I like the fact it's small and not a huge bulky miner. Slick design and easy to mount or place anywhere in the house.

That was something which attracted me, the size of it is fantastic. Similar to a Raspberry Pi; easily can disclose it in a hidden location. Also the fact you can still mine on it from such a small system and generate some tokens is fantastic. Great workj
My friend made a miner once with a Raspberry Pi it did not last very long, how are we so sure that this will last long?

You need to read up on the whitepaper.  It's software running on a Pi, it is not mining coins like an ASIC.  The honeypot earns you coins by 'mining' hackers.
Love the idea of "MINING HACKERS".  You lure them in, trap them, and then update all subscribers to beware the Hacker you just caught.  And, you get paid for it.  Seems pretty cool.

yes, this idea sounds nice. i will take part of this and mine all day:-)
i am curious how this will work, but we will see soon. can't wait until the bitfence-shop is open, so that i can buy the necessary items

So this single small device can do both (mining and protecting network) Jobs? It's bit difficult to believe but I hope we can see the demo soon.

I've seen miniture routers that also mine before, not with any fancy firewall capable device but have seen basic router with a miner for some specially chosen coins. Will be interesting to see if they can pull it off, i'd like to see better finish on the router itself but i'd imagine finishing and casing etc will come once the actualy software is done and working and they move on to production

I am also excited to see the BitFence product. Is there any date mentioned by BitFence team when the demo will be available?

According to the roadmap, the Bitfence Team will implement the Bitfence Ecosystem and the sting miner platform in Q3 2018. One Admin told me in Telegram, that the sting miner will release a bit earlier, maybe end of Q2.

Wow it's really good news then. If team is ahead of the schedule then investors would like this. It seems that BitFence team is working with full force on this project.

It looks pretty cool and I like that it's small and compact, however can the small, little sting miner actually mine that many tokens, surely it can't use that much energy or produce enough power to turn a profit for investors?

Yeah, very cool and small. I have asked on their Telegram and one of the Admins told me that the sting miner will release soon (whatever soon is). The price isn't set yet, but will be "affordable"

It looks so cool and portable, would love to have one.. But is it known how many token you can mine per hour or if  it requires large amount of energy or how effective it is?

im pretty sure that is a Raspberry PI 2 or 3 model they are running it on, im very interested to see if it'll run on one of the Pi Zero models, those are even smaller. And that's a honeypot remember, it's not a conventional 'miner' like an ASIC.

Oh.. Now this makes  a lot of sense i was thinking how something this small can mine tokens, i don't know if there's a small mining machine as this tho? And also you seem to know a lot about raspberry pi are you familiar with python programming language?

i found another youtube review of bitfence (they posted it themselves on twitter)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uen9xDquXJQ&feature=youtu.be

this guy explains the whole thing very well and above all in a very quiet way:-)

Honestly I think these video are like narrations to the website or the whitepaper Cheesy. I understand that some just go through the video instead of actually going through the whitepaper; I personally do my own readings to know where my money is going. I mean I am not sure if those youtubers charge for the review or not but Personally I feel there are many details on the whitepaper that are really important. Especially how the idea would be carried out.

Ive just seen a gif of one of their sting miners in operation, very cool.  Cool

The on that's currently floating around the thread is just a picture of the sting miner. It would be cool if you can post a link to this gif you have seen so that we can actually see it in action even though for a short while.

Would love to see some actual pictures and videos even as it would be pretty amazing to see in operation would do a lot for the ico as a whole I think to give some exictement

A live video footage of the performance of the stinger will without doubt be good, it's almost as good as being physically present and watching the stinger perform.

Yeah i will like to see a video as well, i just a saw a gif of their sting on BitFence telegram group with a detailed explanation on how it works you guys can check it out cool stuff.

OH it was posted on Telegram? I sent looking at their Twitter account initially and found only photo. I wonder why they delay posting the stinger gif on twitter too.

Yesterday evening when I visited website I found 597+ ETH raised yet. What I seen today, 615+ ETH raised yet Shocked. I am sure they will achieve their MAIN SALE also in minimum time.
They have raised a lot of ethereum already and the amount keeps increasing. I think that this project will be very popular if they continue to grow at this rate.

The sale has been going quite well; the community is also starting to show attention to it. I think the last video of crypto for the people (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bb6_L1WwjIk) made a good impact currently at 1600+ views.

1600+ views and counting on YouTube means it has got a lot views in other social media which equally means the project has a lot of exposures as well adding up both qualitatively and quantitatively as per investors, I like project like this Cool

THis is pretty good for such a new project like BitFence, it goes to show the advertising they are doing is helping and need to keep pushing on the marketing and advertising to show how the potential of this project. 688ETH raised so far

Oh nice they're upto 688 now? Looks like they're getting something like 20 ETH a day in investments, about $500k so far then (As the market crashed a little this morning)

20 ETH a day are not bad, but it is still a long way to the next goal of 2000 ETH. A few big investors would not be bad now

Regarding small crash this morning, do you have any idea why this happened today?

I am not sure where the honeypot (software) is at right now; I have seen their twitter publications on the OEM devices they set for bitfence. The concept is great to have that small device do the mining; I would love to see the software and I think the software would yield great exposure.

Great workj

I do agree with you on that, having something tangible do something as magnificent as that can be eye catching and that's the focus of the new coming technological age, no one wants to implement or use something bulky, no matter how great the product is, if is bulky, the sales will be low compared to a product with a small size, i'm glad the product development team of BITFENCE kept that in mind during development

it's because it's not an actual miner, like an ASIC.  From my understanding you are not confirming transactions on the blockchain, you 'mine' a reward everytime it reports a 'hackers' activity to the main network.

For my understanding you are right. I f a hacker attack your network, the sting miner will identify him, noticed and blacklisted the IP. Therefore you get a reward in form of HNY Token.

Pretty damn awesome, sounds like a nice procedure and it's so cool to get rewarded for running the sting miner yourself. Will take not much electricity and evidently doesn't take much room/space up

if it can run alright on a Pi zero, that thing can run on one of those external power banks for days it uses so little electric, great for if you wanted to take it with you on a business trip or something!

Because they update stuff a lot faster in their telegram than on other social media's that is why it is necessary to join and be updated.

Its funny, will like to know on which basis you are comparing bitfence and the likes of McAfee, fireeye and rsa. I would only predict maybe in the future but no i think all those companies are far ahead.

Let me get this straight and i'm sure some people in the community will like to get clarification on that, so what this means is, if a network was attacked by a hacker, is it BITFENCE that will automatically flag the hacker's IP as bad or will the report be done by the individual and secondly, will the sting miner do the mining automatically or does it need to be authenticated first by BITFENCE before the mining can be done?
