I tried them because somebody else told me they are not playing nice.

bitcointalk is big scam, this forum is fully biased agenda. I do not care to if there is a need for scam accusation or not if it is obvious.

They are based in EU in Malta, you can get full info about the company. If they scammed you, you should write/inform according institutions in Malta. This would be way more effective if it is true.

For now, they keep bets which they will probably claim to be technical issue. I was reported they scammed other people.

Before I make any accusation, I would like cloudbet to reply first before blowing dust into the wind.

I was looking for F1 betting lines and I came across Cloudbet.  I did my research about it and found out that one user had a complaint that his withdrawal was blocked and will remain so until he uploads his ID and proof of address.  Now I don't mind doing this, but for a BTC sports betting site, is it really needed?

ID verification? On site which seems to be scam? What do you expect then from them if they have your documents, names, address etc.? That's probably joke of the day, but yeah, I did not hear about that. I guess bigger problem is them holding user funds and not paying those out. I do not expect any good of such people and would never leave any kind of verification on such sites.

Can you post verification of this claim and that they asked for verification after the payment was initiated.

Not always, it can be based on local law too. Big amounts need to be reported and in EU bets over 10K are forbidden at all, meaning the value where according to the word "big win" I assume you mean >10btc win.

Mostly, especially in gambling, you need some time. Asking for verification and the process itself could take up weeks. This is how those small companies try to get some time. If they are successfull, then they pay out and brag about it. If not, they go belly with customer funds because they know it is the only option.

I've never looked at cloudbet as scam or gambling site, I looked at it always as very interesting blockchain based project where blockchain changes the way of how betting works. Whatever is going on with them, it was interesting project.

Cloudbet and many other casino are registered as company in countries where gambling is legal. To offer their service to worldwide users they need to have KYC policy, so ID verification is almost mandatory there. If they don't do this, they will get legal problems and may even have to shut down.

PD like dice site don't have any registered company or aren't registered anywhere so they don't have any KYC policy because legally they didn't exist anywhere in the world. There is no any body/authority that will ask PD to provide their users details etc.
