I have seen some news regarding hackers, terrorists, and other criminals using bitcoin for illegal trades.
How the police can find about these transactions?
Even if is hard to track illegal transactions, I don't think that Bitcoin can be a danger to society, since the problem is the society and its people.
Since the beginning of the internet this is happening ( the bad people committing crimes)  and no one is willing to shutdown internet because of that, so in that matters Bitcoin should be equivalent. I think those illegal transaction are one of the reasons some governments and the media are trying to depreciate bitcoin, but the problem is not Crypto/blockchain or Bitcoin, is just the society.
I think it is true that there are criminals who are using bitcoin as payment. Bitcoin is popular in the black market, there are many people who are using bitcoin to buy illegal things in the black market.

I have seen some news regarding hackers, terrorists, and other criminals using bitcoin for illegal trades.

Everything that can be used by criminals is or will be in the near future. THat's a fact.

How the police can find about these transactions?

By tips? Investigations? Bitcoin has to be spent somewhere.

Even if is hard to track illegal transactions, I don't think that Bitcoin can be a danger to society, since the problem is the society and its people.

It's not. It's like saying that dogs are a problem to society because once in a while a dog wounds or kills a man.

Criminals are existing before bitcoin discovered bitcoin is helping to lessen poverty.

that's right, that's how hard people are, they know that they know as big as bitcoin so they use and scam it because they're getting bigger than people do not know what bitcoin really means.

Criminal activities are of all times. It's not because of the internet, nor because of dollars or bitcoin, that crimes are committed. Humans are to blame, they commit the crimes, not bitcoin. The government just uses this as excuse. Governments will not allow a decentralized currency, they cannot control. And the authorities  can not just bluntly ban bitcoin. That's why they use this excuse to get rid of bitcoin.

Criminal use cryptocurrencies in their transactions because it may not traceable or undetected. Since the first use of internet Criminal activities are all over with it as you said, Humans are to blame. As the government make this danger to their centralize power. Governments will not accept this decentralized currency that they cannot control, and many outlaws lurks and using this to their illegal transactions they wan to get rid of it.

I agree with that. Its the society or people not the bitcoin itself as Bitcoin and criminality diverse with each other. Bitcoin was created for its good purpose. But those people are running their purpose too by the use of bitcoin and that's really devastating.

Criminals were among the first to explore the Bitcoin. They understood the potential it gives and also it gave them anonimity. In the early days Bitcoin was much more anonimous and transactions were hard or even impossibe to trace so it was easy to cover the criminal activities.
That is also the reason why Bitcoin got negative reputation and many people thought it is illegal.
Today law enforcement has much better tools to trace the transactions and exchanges are obliged with KYC and anti money laundering regulations so criminals don't have so easy job anymore to misuse Bitcoin.

You see, it's same as with cash. Terrorists don't need bitcoin to fund their processes, they have other ways of handling the transactions even with fiat. So bitcoin needs to be handled the right way

Bitcoin shouldn’t be made illegal by nations just because it is used by criminals, just as cars or dollar bills shouldn’t be made illegal because they are used by criminals.

People care to much about criminals using bitcoins and i don't understand why, If there was no bitcoin, they would use the dollar, euro and other types of currencies.

And everything would be the same.
This kind of discussions are pretty useless.
You can't blame the tool (BTC) for some person's actions.

Correct, Only ill minded people will blame a tool that being used on a crime by criminals, For example if a person stabbed another person with a kitchen knife who would we blame? The knife? No because we have intellect and we have brains and we know hot figure out things in the correct way and manner. I think those people who blame tools like Bitcoin being used by criminals are group of people's who just want to spread FUD in the crypto currency community. Cheesy

I think there is nothing wrong with bitcoin, the wrong one is the one who abuse it. bitcoin itself is free, all transactions can not be tracked by anyone, with so many people using bitcoin the wrong way.

We all know that bitcoin is decentralized, it is possible that criminals are using bitcoin. I am sure that the criminals are using the characteristics of bitcoin as advantage because they know that the transactions are anonymous.

We cannot blame bitcoin for being use by some bad people as still thousands of good people are using it for the betterment of humanity, as now charity is being done with bitcoin and bitcoin is making poor people highly rich, so if a few of bad fishes are using it for their own way the whole bitcoin will not get dirty with it, so let them be one day they will pay for their bad act, but apparently bitcoin does not have any connection with criminals.

it all depends on our own behavior ,, if already have intentions to act criminally, whether it's anywhere will definitely do its ..
because the crime will happen if there is a chance and the opportunity is also in bitcoin ..
and i hope everyone can think positively about bitcoin ..

Its quite unfortunate that the independence and freedom of Bitcoin has earned it association with criminal activities, Bitcoin doesn't chose who uses it and what they use it for,It just performs its duty and that's it, with o without Bitcoins, criminals would still find a way of perpetration their activities, as they have been doing long before BTC,can therefore not beheld accountable for the activities of the outlaws, Its just a medium of transaction

The most crimes in the world are financed with $ and I don't see $ slowing down because of it.

Yes exactly, money, guns, knifes, even cars, they are not evil, just some people are evil and they can use anything to do evil things. There's nothing to be blamed on bitcoin.

I agree bitcoin is not a crime, the crime is truly in the people who wants to commit crime while using bitcoin.
