Will it help if I replace the PSU, or is this cube dead forever ?

you probably shorted the cube when you opened it up 

Is there a way to know exactly what's wrong ? Is it usually only 1 light on when you plug the PSU. I don't have another PSU handy to check right away. Will have to get another one from the store if you think that can help.

Not really, the error codes aren't well publicised. Best bet is to get a beefier PSU you know is working. May be the 'spike load' protection on the PSU.

Yes, will try that. The red LED is for the ethernet connection, right ? it shows my cube is connected to the network, correct?

You should have 2 green power LED's I presume the it s one for each PCIE plug. I am not sure if the green LEDS are pre fuse or post.

If the LEDs are powered post fuse then it may be the fuse that is the problem. In my cube the fuse holder or the soldering to the MB was faulty, the fuse over heated and destroyed itself, the fuse holder and burned a hole in the MB. I had to solder in an external fuse holder to resurrect the unit.

And you pretty much HAVE to strip the cubes BEFORE powering up to ensure that the blades have not become dislodged in transit and that the heatsinks are secured properly. The latter problem will cause overheating and the former could smoke the whole unit

I am just trying to run the board by itself first (or sometimes just 1 blade mounted). Will update when I get a newer PSU today. Hope that works!

Verify any firewall on 192.168.1.10 has port 8332 open.

How do you do this? Sorry i am a bit noob on this?

Perhaps this can help someone else.

I followed this guide when I got my first cube, and found it easy to set up.  (I actually read the entire thread!)
I did one thing differently, however, and rather than the recommended Corsair PSU, I tried to save a few bucks by buying this one instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171084  (Cooler Master 700w)

On the spec sheet, it looks like it should work - 55 amps on the 12 volt rail.

It runs one cube, at high clock speed, and seems to do it pretty well.

My 2nd cube arrived today.

Short version:  That Cooler Master power supply will not even start up 2 cubes at high speed, and with both cubes at low speed they will start up and run for for about three minutes, before the psu shuts down.

I found a Corsair CX750m at a local store.  I've been running both, at high clock speed, for a couple hours now.

In short, don't try to cheap out like I did.  Pay the extra $10 or so for the Corsair.  It seems worth it.

Additionally, I found a Dell Latitude X1 in my "I don't use these but don't want to throw them out" stuff.  It's running 2 copies of the slush proxy (one per cube) on 13 watts when the screen is blanked.  It's running Windows XP, and peaking at about 70% utilization on the cpu.

If I find any issues with either of these setups, I'll post more information.

In the meantime, however, my thanks to all who have participated in this thread and contributed to the information that makes it so easy to get one running.

Replaced my PSU. Just got a new one from frys, still the same issue. Don't hear any clicking sound now. Any other tricks, or should i now say my main board is finished!

Ok, so now I start the PSU (after an hour or fiddling around) and I see this. There's a clicking sound and cube turns ON. Looks like all the lights are good. 2 lights on the power, 1 green/yellow light from inside the ethernet port, 1 red status light.


After a minute or so, this is what I see on the cube. I hear one click sound and some lights are gone, and only 1 green light is ON (the top green light where it says "SB power").


I did turn off wifi on my android phone. Have 2 apple devices connected, 1 chromecast, 1 laptop, and 1 desktop (using a USB adapter) that runs the proxy.

Hi guys, just got my cubes today and having some issues... All setup etc. is done and works fine. My first cube is the only one on a 500W PSU thought makes only 17GH/s and i can't see why The second and third share one 750W PSU and don't work both at the same time. If i unplug one of them the other start to hash and after a few mins all the ooooo on the top turn to xxxxx and it stops. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

My cube just stopped hashing for no apparent reason. All settings are the same and usually a restart would've solved it but it's been weeks now that it's inactive.

It started a few days before I moved from my place and continues to be inactive in my new current location.

Can you please help me put it back to work. BTC tips to show appreciation for solutions that work.
