I feel like a fool too!

My btc did make it through send shared within 2 minutes however it didn't show up in my wallet.  I had closed and reopened my walled app (multibit) and even "reset the blockchain and transactions" twice without the btc showing up in my wallet.

Today when I closed and reopened it the transaction was magically there.

Unfortunately that did not solve mine, but Piuk has responded and I have provided my information to hopefully sort out my missing BTC from the shared feature. I will keep this thread updated.

bug report: the rpc api is frequently non-responsive and requests time out.
feature request: let the importprivkey rpc method accept non-WIF private keys, just like the web interface does.

The site is still using MtGox for its exchange rates; pretty much nobody else is doing that at this point as MtGox rates are consistently above everyone else due to withdrawal issues. I'd recommend using https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-exchange-rates instead, as BitPay does an average of several major exchanges.

For this situation, it would be super-useful to have a "panic-lock" feature, that allowed you to "one click – no questions asked" to lock your account for a set period of time (say, 12h).

Sure, you would kind of risk denial of service, but if your wallet id is already compromised, you're going to lose your wallet anyway sooner or later.

This is quite silly, someone will make a script and perma lock people out of their wallets. A better solution would be that if you have a static IP, or can access it through a static IP (your own VPN for example) to just IP lock your wallet.

Yesterday when I logged onto Blockchain.info, I noticed the 40+ BTC I had in my wallet were gone and had been sent to this address 1GvmpUY1RdR5zf7jDZnpjfuBnoCz3S2xSS at 12:20am Aug 2nd.  I'd appreciate some help to understand what happened, and if possible, how I can get the BTC back.  I'm not a tech person, so it's been a struggle to learn what I have about Bitcoin...

I had previously used a paper wallet, but transferred my money back to Blockchain to enable easier transactions.  When I imported my paper wallet back to Blockchain, it was to my original wallet address that I'd used from the beginning.  I was using 2 factor authentication with an SMS code being sent to my phone to be able to access my wallet.  I did not notice this at the time, but now that I checked, a wallet authentication code was was sent to my phone at 12:17am Aug 2nd.  I do not recall ever seeing this until now.

After doing further investigation and digging through old emails, I've learned the following:

When I first signed up to Blockchain, I stupidly emailed myself my Blockchain username, password, mnemonic/security phrase, and wallet address.  Later on Blockchain emailed me an encrypted wallet backup.

After reviewing the IP addresses that have accessed my Gmail (https://security.google.com/settings/security/activity), I noticed one that appeared to access from an iPhone that I did not recognize. It was also a Verizon network iPhone and the IP address was mapped to about 30 minutes outside my city. This was on July 18th (and the theft happened on August 2nd).  Potentially also of note, I used public wifi at a hospital on July 30th.

Is this the likely scenario? That my Gmail and/or iPhone was compromised?  And would this explain why I recieved an SMS text from Blockchain 3 minutes before the theft?  If so, is it possible to locate the person who accessed my Gmail from that IP address?

Hmm, if the thief convinced blockchain.info to give him the 40Ƀ, yeah, this is a blockchain.info issue. For such a sum (any sum actually) they should do everything to get your real world identity and charge you for the process or cover your loss if they didn't take the effort. Else anybody could harvest one account after the other.

If I "steal" my money now by forgetting my password and forging proof of identity from publicly available data and claim the theft after that, what would they do?

Where are the TOS anyway? They brag they transferred $5,000,000,000 but have no TOS? Just some FAQ? They are being trusted with millions of $$ and hide (I can't find it) the TOS?

**Update on missing coins through Shared send**

Well after 2 weeks I have still not heard back from Blockchain.info support or Piuk. I saw Piuk logged in today but either ignored my message or chose not to take care of it.

~2 weeks ago I sent 75+ BTC through the shared send and only received half back....still have not heard from support at all or got my bitcoins. Both verified that 75BTC made it through to the shared address and only half went through, the remainder was moved out to other accounts after.

Pretty dissapointed with customer support at this point and I'm out $3500.

EDIT: This error 157 most likely means that one or more of their MySQL servers decided to disconnect from the cluster. Resetting that MySQL instance and letting it reconnect should resolve the problem (aka. error 157 is a legitimate database-error)

I noticed a bug with the way p2sh addresses are handled. According to blockchain.info, this transaction is paid to the p2sh address 3JNaZ9A1yMpRTGyoG9Vq9MvvjKcECYbSoo.

However, according to bitcoind, this transaction was sent to 3FB2DitED3VT1rWjnMkd6LFpdYS36oCWcH:
