+100500 for the committee-idea. The power of the community cannot be underestimated, it must be utilized! I start keeping eye on this thread...
PS Heard rumors on other forums, that vertcoin and monero devs...are the same guys. Huh?

I'm in with 2000 vtc. Let me know when you're ready...
Nice, thank for your support. It seems in one day we would have probably more than 5,000 vtc...

Thank you all for the spontaneous and financial support.
Vertcoin is fortunate to have a stronghold of supporters. Yeah. That is how I started, fell in love and still believe in Vertcoin. We need more support for the committee to have a good mandate. To the rest of the moderate and quiet members, please freely voice your support (or not). This is the time. Your support is crucial to our success.
I have a few names in mind for well-trusted community members to take part in the committee. One of them is BBristow79. If you have a good candidate in mind, please nominate him/her. And I will be contacting Bushido to seek his view.
I have C programming knowledge, unfortunately not in cryptocoins area, I know I'm a not very good coordinator (much better engineer, than manager), and my english is not perfect (I usually try to write in simple way - just to be better understood, and get similar type of response) you Cubevtc maybe could be good coordinator, I suppose fyi: I have a Skype contact to Bushido, but now it is very hard to catch him there and to get few words from him online... I haven't already chances to ask him about access to this: "we already have implemented code just waiting for integrating and testing.", yesterday I have send him Skype message with this link: http://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/comments/2hv7se/lyra2re_development_fund/ with asking about his opinion - and no answer until now...

.. 2. we should strongly avoid at the beginning any hard topics, where there are many different, competitive opinions (e.g. inflation) 3. we rather should start from one and already promised step: Lyra2RE (small steps strategy, even if hardfork with new PoW seems to be actually not small at all)
The committee concept is part of the 'Option 3' I mentioned earlier. It is a role formed to support and complement the current Devs' effort. The committee should consist of well-trusted and respected community members, the founding Vertcoin dev (Bushido), and a few other active and contributing devs. The work by the committee includes accessing the current situation (eg ASIC, competition) and current asset (eg the partly implemented Lyra codes by Bushido and devs), before drawing up the plan. The committee should focus on what would make Vertcoin _successful_ and not be distracted nor bogged down by any controversial 'hard topics' that really do little to no benefit to the coin. Topics can be in the form of what other benefits/features Vertcoin needs to have and which it can bring to the world. In summary, the idea behind forming a committee is to help Vertcoin succeed with a wholistic approach. And this is what I was talking about: http://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/comments/2hz2ku/why_lyra2_should_not_be_reduced_efficiency/I suppose we should try to convince unconvinced if possible, and then complete first task - in case of many parallel topics/tasks - such complains will grow exponentialy and will lead straight to the failure...

Developers can develop but without a network of people to share the information and features all the program the developers created goes widely unnoticed. Heck I'm a software developer by trade, I code 8 hours a day and I'm still not the best person to help the dev team as I'm not fluent in the languages they use. I work with mostly C#, SQL, WPF, Action Script and html based languages. I can however help with knowledge flow, funding and getting the word out. I can also help with testing the software and help more within the systems analyst side of things. mega - you've done much to help already by staying positive and looking to improve VTC. If we all had that mindset we'd be golden. I know were all looking for a way to give back to the developers. I'm thrilled that we seem to be on the right track.

In fact, this is what I expected to happen. Never saw vert dying. Yes, as price dropped we all saw some disbelief, but deep in my heart I knew that we would see us more active again. Im trilled with the idea of the community step forward and do what is needed to do. I will continue to aware the new members of my gaming team about VertCoin. VTC its a GPU coin after all. Thank you for the kind words.

Hi, I think the network of people to share the information should start to share the information that Vertcoin comunity is probably looking for developers, who are able to handle new PoW implementation. Now is the right time for it, I'm affraid... If somebody have such type of contacts with developers around cryptocoin area - please ask him/her and inform us here, if there is some interesting response.

Vertcoin market cap at $480k is so low it's comparable with joke coins like Karmacoin, and dropping like a rock while Litecoin has remained stable for 3 months. No one cares about ASIC resistance, try explaining that to the man on the street and see what reaction you get. Perversely you may see some renewed interest in the coin and a value boost from the Titan owners when Scrypt-N capability is added to the firmware.

to guy on the street, you need to explain the usability of crypto
to the miner you explain the asic resistance.
Don't mix both, don't be technical with someone who don't know anything about cryptos.

I agree and find ASIC resistant analogous to decentralized. I think the guy on the street can appreciate a currency that is not controlled by a single entity like the government or large banks.

Unfortunately there are still dudes around thinking our politicians print money and manipulate inflation for our good. I personally spoke with a m*er believing it was totally right for money to be centralized and have those guys borrow money to banks at 0% interest while they drain our blood with credit crunch.
Blockchains alone are too difficult for them, decentralization too subtle I'm afraid.

Yes, please do spread the word. The Vertcoin community is interested to look for experienced C++/C developers preferably with experience in crypto/encryption algo. Finding suitable candidates is not easy. It may take some time.
