sorry to ask a newbie question, but I'm a bit confused. In the wallet there is balance, stake, and unconfirmed. I'm wondering what is the stake part for exactly? as an extension of that, when does the "20% per year max, if you have wallet running 24/7" pay out? as in, randomly, weekly, monthly, or every year? And furthermore from that how can you tell that your connected as a part of the stake at all times. I know you have to have your wallet encrypted and then open it up and run the command to allow minting or whatever. I mean, do you have to do that every single time you accidentally close the wallet? or you restart your computer? Just want to make sure that I'm not letting it go un-minting for any period of time.
also, if I had the wallet open and set to mint on say, my desktop as well as my laptop, would those not interfere and it would help ensure i was always minting?

There's a very good description of how it works a few pages back in this thread.

There's a very good description of how it works a few pages back in this thread. thanks, I found the post and it was very helpful. It explained everything. I have another question though, you wouldn't happen to know how the ultracoin cg scrypt-jane miner works, would you? I mean in terms of the nature of the algorithm. I'm getting 200 less hashes today on the same intensity I was on a few days ago. does this have to do with the coins difficulty and something about scrypt jane or am I having issues? everything seems normal with my gpu.

yes, go back a few more pages and look at the discussion about intensity, you'll need to adjust it probably.

ty for the find and post! Seems to be correct with what bit I understand of Jane and adaptive N. Didn't know the timelines but knew 13 was last N w/GPU.

So basically 150 days max coin mining?
No, It just means after N13 that CPU's are more "cost effective" in terms of Kh/s per Kwh of electricity. ty for the find and post! Seems to be correct with what bit I understand of Jane and adaptive N. Didn't know the timelines but knew 13 was last N w/GPU. What did you think I was bagging all those coins at cryptotrade for? Anyone could have figured where this coin is going by doing a little math. Nfactor will basically double this coin value every time it kicks in. ye I wish I was in a better position to have bought more. I bought what I could and have been mining the rest, with my miner. Those coins will have to do for me, then it's time to sit and wait a bit.

well I got emails back from exchanges

We periodically pick the top coin from this list & BTC will not guarantee you a place on the exchange.
So is it still worth trying to buy votes ?

Did anyone "burned" his GPU while mining scrypt-jane ?
I thought I had when I saw the hash speeds drop , was a hot day here in Australia and my air cooled R9 290's were hitting high 90's ( 200 CFM 120mm delta fan on top of them ) liquid cooled were in high 70's ( work in progress need bigger tank / heat exchanger cards submerged in Oil with water cooling ) 20x rigs of R9 290 6 packs around 40 kw worth of heat yes I was one of the hard hitters on launch day at least difficulty dropped so I can back off the clock speeds I will keep GPU mining UTC as long as I get ~100 coins per 1 kw a day ( 4k coins a day ) currently it looks like everyone has left , which is good back to solo mining

with new N factor kicking in drop Intensity by 1 level , and again on next n factor change tho I would have thought -I 13 would be safe .... but you will have half hash rate now personally I would have a higher thread-concurrency I don't have acess to the miners i was renting with R9 280's but i believe they were using 12XXX range

You have 20 rigs running? Each with 6 R9 290's? Man am I jealous. I've got 6 running now with 4 x R9 280x's each. In the process of building 12 more. Have everything but the GPU's at the moment. Its difficult to come by 48 at a reasonable price. The gouging is killing me!

Ahh, yes, MasterCatz. A deal's a deal. Sending 500 now for good measure. When the coin is actually up and listed, I'll send over the remaining 500.

Its difficult to come by 48 at a reasonable price. The gouging is killing me! I am not so jealous , the mining rigs I was renting ran 270 / 280's the 280's were doing numbers pretty close to 290's on SJ and I paid top $ for my R9's due to supply and demand UTC launch was a disaster . PSU's kept blowing up because my shipment of brand named PSU's was delayed and did not make it for the UTC weekend start I got them following monday so missed a few days of low difficulty but I also had rented around 100 MH/s worth of rigs ThermalTake 450W Toughpower Power Express ( what I am using for each card atm 2x 30 amp rails 1 rail 6 pin 1 rail 8 pin its interesting watching PSU's as they show what rail is being used power drained from 6 pin first them the extra oomf from 8 pin ) ThermalTake 650W Toughpower Power Express ( what I am using trialing Twin air cooled R9 290's still not game to OC as it might hit its limits if it wasn't so hot I would un cap them from their 900 mhz limit to default speed around 940 but due to temp pointless they sit around 73 deg 700 mhz 280 kh/s 170watts each aircooled ) those are dedicated 12V GPU PSU's the towns generic 550watt ~ 1100watt literally were blowing up running 1x card 500 watts dieing in seconds the 1000+ watt lasted 1 minute running 2x R9's the 450's are pretty efficient the 650 is inefficient with 2x cards unsure if they are worth while for 1x card tho :S but only like $15 diff between 450 and 650 versions also using asrocks BTC mainboard 6x GPU's a breeze with SMOS ( tho working on a netboot cause thumbsticks are dying for some reason ) http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/h81%20pro%20btc/thankfully I got mine pre ordered before the price hike seen them going for $300+ mark and I paied under $100 like $60 - $80 range
