Just curious to know what Bumface has been doing the last 7 days. Am I allowed to ask this? Apart for making Dawson Creek meme posters . . .

+1

...one thing I no for shore..

...he was very busy deleting serious but criticism post here and making treats of reporting because he and the other dev's only want to see very positive messages out here !

They want only the positive momentum here and have a big control of censure at this forum...

Even dcgirl (who I really respect) is starting to take here part at controlling and censoring off messages together with bumface

the reason i deleted your 3 flooding post ,was that you were offering a bounty to the person who can best "wake me up", while the general topic was how Elsa Hammond is starting an amazing journy and rowing on the ocean for 3 months.

Your comments were flooding the thread and were being quoted to a point were it took up 3 full pages, and thats very inapropriate and rude when the topic is about a person who is doing such an amazing thing......if you dont have anything positive to add, and can only point the finger and complain, please move on.

When people come here for the first time and read your cloud of doom, what kind of impression are you giving about the coin then? This coin is very strong and the team aswell,so please dont misrepresent us.

thank you

I would be interested to know why my post was deleted as well?
One short post, not flooding, responding to what can be done to improve the community & awareness of UltraCoin.

So.... I'm waiting.
Why was my post deleted?

Community can spread awareness.....

ok guys, i just sold some other coins so i could  triple my UTC holdings because i think this has the most potential to go up in price medium-term and damn this coin is fast...

NOW, i would like to start getting proof of stake on my mac wallet, to do this all i need to do is click "Enable Stake Minting" in the overview tab of the wallet? is that correct?

how long does it take for my balance to show up in "stake" on the overview tab?

please let me know if im missing something...

Thanks,

@ Jacobshm and jdh015232,
Yes, for the sake of security, first and foremost you should encrypt your wallet, which you should already be doing with any coin wallet. Then click on the "Enable Stake Minting" tab. Enter your passphrase and you are Proof of Staking securely.
The beauty of Ultracoin - (as some other coins as well) is that Ultracoin also has "coin control" feature. Proof of stake is a joke without "coin control" feature unless you plan on buying coin and sitting on it in your wallet for 365 days without ever sending coins to someone. Without "coin control" there is no way to know that you just potentially sent a POS block transaction that was just nearing it's 365 day maturity?
Please see my similar questions I asked and were answered on thread page 692.

Jacobshm ask "how long does it take for my balance to show up in "stake" on the overview tab?" I think it has to be 365 days. Correct me if I'm wrong Dev's.
Once you grasp "coin control" I think you will be able to better grasp how POS can work in a positive way.
Please research those links provided by Bumface from Hobonickels.

Coin control is an amazing feature, and will help your investment flourish.
I'm not a day trader. I wish I was, but I still have a full time job. Yet, with POS coin control, if I want to be a day trader on a Saturday or a Sunday, I have the ability to get into the exchanges with my weakest POS block transaction  (in my case mining transactions) reward potentials and decide if I want to utilize them to allocate the amazing features provided by our very own DCgirl's Ultra-arb.com website.
BTC will soon go into the bull trend again. Once BTC goes bull - in my opinion - the ultra-arb.com website will put UTC's already great future, into the sun!!
If you haven't already heard...

I'm sure this is an ongoing concern, but where is the transparency. I hardly understand what the devs are doing. The community supporters get tidbits now and again, but what I don't understand is the direction this coin is going. It's funny to say to the moon, but the community supporters need more. We don't need detailed information on what devs are exactly doing, but we do need a concrete plan or some form of step by step process for an end goal. Just a progress report or something since cryptocurrencies are based primarily on perception. If we were given two steps such as rocket and then to the moon, that doesn't explain anything. It would bring in more confidence to include steps, goals, until the end stretch of the moon is realized. Even if goals aren't realized, the community received enough respect to receive updates. Please update through bitcointalk because let's face it, the community isn't large enough to migrate to the forums.

Right now, the coin is hugely undervalued, it's already more or less tied to a fiat to crypto through crypto-trade. The only difference between the present and a couple months ago is that all the "hot" money has disappeared as confidence has waned. I think dev transparency will help towards the viability of UTC to the moon plan.

Ultimately the coins futures is not in the hands of the devs, but the shareholders, the merchants, and the consumers. Instead of always asking the devs to promote the coin, why doesn't the community take some of that responsibility into their own hands? Besides, Ultracoin is an investment, it is going to take time to grow, this isn't a get quick rich scheme or a penny stock, it is a currency.

You are exactly right, we the stakeholders add value to this crypto. It can be likened to a pile of sand. The devs add to the pile slowly as "value." It will fall and crumble through the process. Eventually more people, "sand", will gather to support the pile the dev adds. The dev can help shape it make it strong, robust, give it a good base so that one day there will be enough sand for the pile to support itself. I'm sure it'll be beautiful one day, but right now, supporters need to know there is something there to be a part of. Value is certainly built over time, but we see hecklers that try to tear down whats being built. What the community and supporters are drawn to right now are possibilities. We are more or less speculators looking for value in this cryptocurrency. I think transparency is key to this because it gives community members the perception to drive this coin further until those speculations cement into reality.

NEW WALLET giving me a headache. I can not send more than few hundred UTC in one transaction. WHY???
I want to send 27K UTC to someone, minting is turned off, In coin control a total of 28K coins are selected and the fee to send is 1.13 UTC based on 113kb transaction size (.01/kb). After I enter my wallet passphrase all I get is "ERROR CREATING TRANSACTION"....I checked, it not a problem with passphrase. I tried sending 10k UTC but still same error. Send a hundred and no problem....

weird, i have sent 10k yesterday without problems....did you update with the method provided in the post?
I will dig in to it after work and see what is up

Ok, I re-installed the new wallet as before and cleaned up all the small transactions in coin control. There were over 4k transactions and a lot of small ones from mining. Wallet works fine now. So sending 27k UTC made up of thousands of smaller transactions in coin control is more taxing than having just a few. Maybe the wallet has a limit on how many transactions can be included to make up one larger send request. Know what I mean?

I also noticed a new .dll file in the new wallet download that did not exist in the old one and the instructions said nothing about this file. it is libwinpthread-1.dll
Wallet seems to work fine with or without it but maybe it is for POS purposes.

We are working on getting the transparency out there, and i have already a plan for this in the works. It is important for the dev team to being able to communicate what our plans are, and also for the community to have an overview of what is going on. And also for the community to being able to be active as well and see what other community members are doing right now to help UTC move forward.

This is very important and i will keep you guys posted about this. Smiley

Hmmmmmm Bumface.... you sound really as a spoiled little whiney girl which can not take any critic and want only here the nice things and want's to hear how beautiful you are Tongue

Ok kiss kiss .....

...and for you the same dear nanoprobe;

... "do you even now what the discussion was ?
Did you even read the deleted post ?
So do you now what you are talking about ?
Or a you just a blind follower Huh..."

Seriously Marnie. If you want to ask questions there is no problem with that. But posting the same questions over and over......and over is not going to do you any favors. Not here or any other place on bitcointalk forum.
And also resulting into personal attacks in the end kind of shows what kind of maturity level you are on right now. It is not okay to act the way you do, not here and not in real life. So i suggest if you want a real discussion to pull your act together. We welcome it.

And also for you people out there who are a bit unsure of what is going on, there is a whole thread to read through. If you don't have the strenght to do that, i am working on a way for you guys to being able to have a better overview of whats going on and being able to participate more. I wrote about it a few posts back. Please have a little patience, we have a lot on our plate. If you are not patient and want things to go faster, you are welcome to participate in the development. We want you to.

Thank you

I think it doesn't. dcgirl posted here great infographics but it is gone now because explanation of POS was incorrect IMHO. As soon as she get more info on that she'll probably post it again. Just be patient Smiley

To all UTC team members; great work ya all doing!

Nice blogs, arb site, utccharts.com , UTC site, sponsoring etc etc.

I have an idea for the UTC sponsoring @ www.elsahammond.com. When I open the site I see a BIG DONATE BITCOIN logo. What can be done to place a nice DONATE UTC logo below this. With an link to a donate UTC page, just like www.elsahammond.com/bitcoin. That would be great. A sticker on her boat whould be nice, but I think it's to late for that. But more attraction on her site would be great.

And someone PLEASE make an Android wallet. That would be great, send UTC in seconds from your phone wallet. I see it is in progress, but when ETA?

once again; thanks for al your work.

Nice to see you in the discussion! We are working to make that happen as well!
It would be a whole lot better to have a qr code for the donations. But until then we have to work with what we got!

Guys - we really need someone besides me tweeting about #Ultracoin. This is just sad.

Sorry, I never got into tweeting.

But I did just send an email to coingecko.com asking them if UTC could be listed on their website. I'd love to see how UTC would rank with all their statistics - compared to other coins.
Anyone else want to help. Just email hello@coingecko.com and ask them to include UTC.

Thanks,
Craig Claussen
