Time for a Twitter Tweetathon to get out the vote! If you're on Twitter, tweet this to your followers:

RT #ultracoin Win 500 UTC! One random voter for #UTC on https://www.coinpayments.net/vote  wins. Find out more at https://www.facebook.com/ultracoinnet

Retweeted you, tweeted myself and asked @MrCashKing to tweet.

  • Please can we get this message on all the pools where we have a connection, like Ultracoinpool.info and nitro?
  • Please can we change the frontpage of this thread and the banner line?
  • Please can everyone add it to their signature?

CoinPayments Contest Update!

This just in: Michael has offered to double the prize for the random winner of the CoinPayments.net voting contest.

If 100 votes are cast by this Saturday, May 24, 23:59 EDT, the prize for the winner will be 1000UTC instead of 500UTC.

So, cast your vote, and tell everyone!

And  remember - your vote is not counted until you click the confirmation in the email sent by coinpayments. So check your spam folder if you don't get it - it is sent as soon as all confirmations come through on your deposit. Once you have confirmed your vote, post your confirmation link here, or in Facebook, so you are eligible for the giveaway.

 https://www.coinpayments.net/vote

And, one more incentive - if we reach 100 votes by Wednesday, May 21, 23:59 EDT, I will add in another 500UTC. Vote, people! This is a very big deal.

Hi all,
long-time silent supporter here.

Is this the confirmation you want for the giveaway?
https://www.coinpayments.net/index.php?cmd=status&id=752226799d0357706197feff4480026a3ffe25c24ea490b2028b8361171d80c2&key=6c1905a79e925ec7113e7dee986e76f8

I have one small problem that I think I should mention...
I've been mining UTC for a few weeks now...  I have mined a good few coins but I can't cashout from the pool as I have not been able to make the client stop crashing at startup.  I am on Windows 7 ultimate.  I have tried everything I can think of except compiling it myself...  I was waiting for the update thinking that this issue would surely be on the fixlist, but the new version (1.0.3 i think) crashes just the same as the old.

This guy called zeded seemed to have had the same problem (from about page 52) and this was the response he got before it appears he buggered of to mine Cinni:

Quote from: zeded on February 01, 2014, 08:23:25 PM
how do i open the wallet please other alt coin wallets work fine. why is this like this?

"Cheesy you're my favorite! 17th time of asking the same question...."

Like zeded, all other wallets have worked fine for me.  I will probably just load the wallet on on extra machine at some point, but obviously not everyone has that luxury.

Thanks for the effort everyone.
LD

Thanks for the vote LD!!

As for your wallet issue... I'm guessing you've done a wallet.dat backup, and you've tried erasing all your other existing UTC wallet files via windows search or uninstall program like Revo uninstaller (except for wallet.dat)? And you are still having issues with the new wallet startup. Have you tried temporarily disabling your windows firewall or antivirus program to see if its blocking the program from loading up? Sometimes my system won't give me an indicator window pop-up stating that windows firewall or antivirus has a program on hold until I "allow" it's application.

Wish I could help more. I have Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on 2 computers. Didn't have any problems with the wallet starting up on both of them

Keep us updated! Undecided

I'll add  2000 to the pot if we go over 100 votes. But I think extra incentive to vote by the community could be created if there were 3 winners not just 1 - more like 1st, 2nd, 3rd place prize giveaway @ 65% for 1st place, 25% for 2nd place, and a 10% for 3rd place - or something of that nature?

Thoughts?

I was just informed that it may be against CoinPayments.net's rules to offer a prize associated with voting. I have emailed them and asked them to clarify this, and will post an update here as soon as I hear back. Thanks.

UPDATE

This response received from CoinPayments.net:

Hello DCGirl,

As long as they don't have to show proof they voted (like a screenshot or
TX ID) that's fine.

-CoinPayments.net

SO - if you have posted your transaction id, please remove it! We will have to go on the trust system here, please post that you have voted. I will track the number of posts against the number of votes. And track down anyone that tries to sneak into the contest without voting....

By the way, coingecko.com sent out their weekly newsletter. Again, thanks for all of you that helped get UTC as the first scrypt chacha in their system!

Quote
Hi guys!
This week we pushed out two new updates to CoinGecko:
1. We added the average number of online Reddit subscribers for a coin's subreddit. We added this to prevent coins from manipulating our metrics by buying fake Reddit subscribers. If a coin has a large Reddit subscriber base but very low average number of new posts, comments and online users, there is a high likelihood that these subscribers are fake.

It is just a one-liner on our main page but a lot of thought and effort went into producing this one line with the man icon.

2. We added 7 new coins to CoinGecko: Hobonickels, Whitecoin, Mazacoin, Gridcoin, Digibyte, Nautiluscoin and Ultracoin. We now track 41 coins on CoinGecko.

This week we also appeared on the front page of the Dogecoin subreddit. Go check out what the shibes have to say about us.

Most of our work happened under the hood this week. Because you guys are cool and subscribed to our mailing list, I will let you in on our development secret: We are rolling out a login feature with a private dashboard with price chart and 24 hours price, trading volume and market cap display for only your favourite coins. Do you fancy this feature and want quick Alpha access? Just hit the Reply button and let us know Smiley

Cheers,
Bobby
