Haha, I thought I was stupid for not recognizing this mark as average but if it's only used in German speaking countries, I understand. I also use the x with line above (or another letter).
To answer the previous question, no, Coino is not dead. The discussion has been happening at the coino forum for many days now. But we are getting more active here again.

Yep, definitely price manipulation. Notice how they are all for 10 coino and each order is undercutting the last by 5 satoshi instead of 1.  This is the sort of thing that admins of exchanges should be banning people for.

I agree. Does anybody here have contact with the exchange admins?

We really need to point these things out to them.

Hmm I think I'm missing something - why ban??

Free markets are suppose to be free...

If someone does this and it works, it is because the market supports it.

If the market is made of up stupid people, then that can't be helped.

If you want total control (any control) then it isn't a free market.

Please Explain to me why you think controls and rules on the "free capitalist market" is the way forward?

(this is like a government wanting to filter the internet)

also lets take this back to BitCoin, everyone is quick to point out how no one can control it unless they own 51% of the hash rate, that is the only place control is enforceable... everything else is agreements between people

Actually, your right Smiley

If they want to dump and bring the price down then it not such bad news for the holders. It means there is a steady stream of cheep coino for the rest of us to buy.

Saad.

Can we try your logo with just a single strike through ?

The reason I ask is that there is actually an ASCI/ UTF8 code that has a Latin character O with a single strike. This would make it really easy to price goods with a currency symbol.

U+00D8 Ø Ø latin capital letter O with slash

i.e.
Ø15,000

Just like the dollar
$15,0000

What does everybody think about this as a text based coino currency symbol ?

making that symbol is def. what we should do! thats one of the ideas ive seen yet! keep up the good work

yep! Ø (ALT + 0216) is better... You can use the ALT code! Maybe saad can make a version of that... Or what do you think?

sry but that is the symbol of the arithmetic average... lol -why not using this one ¢ or this ©

i like the versions saad has done so far, but I would prefer to use the current logo as well at the coino.org and all other websites... I think it is something special. Look at the whole other coins which have jsut these boring static brand logos...

If we talking about forms or static ads in newspapers - or if we have in the future a merchandising shop.. with t-shirts, longsleeves, stickers, cups and so on we should use the version saad had done.

I also like the logo Saad has done but for writing out a currency value on your keyboard it would be good to adopt an existing ASCII symbol, and the LATIN O with Strike is the closest symbol to the logo.
It doesn't mater if it's the mathematical average sign, there is no reason it can't be used when referring to coino quantities

I also like the ¢ symbol but maybe to refer to coino cents Smiley

500¢ is equal to Ø5.00

But I think  µØ looks pretty cool anyway

Yeah exactly. I Second the single struck O. I love the double strike but unfortunately we can't implement it. We can easily adopt the single strike, however.

I was trying to find an ASCII symbol with a struck O, that one's perfect. Also love the cent for 100 units, and the mu coino Smiley That'll be the day, when we're dealing in fractions Smiley

No one would confuse it. Only us techies, maths and science majors would know what the averages sign even means. Bitcoin does have it's own symbol, yes. But it can't be used anywhere as it's not implemented into the alt codes... You have to make do with the existing struck Bs.

Please appologise but I don't know where you are living.. Here in Germany every kid after the 6th grade knows the average sign and is normally using it.

I lived and worked in Germany for 8 years and not even the techies I worked with understnd the average sign. So I don't think you have much of an argument here

I was never thought that average sign in shool Sad

It is only used in German-speaking countries.

Elsewhere it is an x with a bar above it or a =  with ~ above it.

No. That's approximately.

The point is I worked in GERMANY for 8 years with some seriously  educated people and they wouldn't even know what the mathematical average sign was.

Btw guys, is this a good idea?

Buy a red fury (2.6gh/s, sha-256) --> mine some sha-256 coins --> exchange them into Coino

Is it profitable? I would buy it on http://bitcoin-world.net for 0.05 BTC.

Skipping meaningless orders

I think there will someone that the difficulty stays longer low - another explanation came not in my mind Wink

This just looks like somebody trying to manipulate the price. Otherwise, it's a problem with coinmarket.io

I suspect this is artificial and is designed to get you all to sell you coino low so that they can come along and buy yours cheap

I would pretty much just ignore it.

Yep, definitely price manipulation. Notice how they are all for 10 coino and each order is undercutting the last by 5 satoshi instead of 1.  This is the sort of thing that admins of exchanges should be banning people for.

Yeah. I wanted to report this but didn't know how. I noticed a few things going on in the coino and SMC markets that were a bit "questionably ethical". Especially these blatant attempts at price manipulation where they put up a bunch of minimum orders that are spaced out. Definitely should be temp banned for that or something. Perhaps that's why the market is paused?

Damn, trading is paused again. Over the weekend I've made 5k Coino selling up and down Tongue Would be nice to code a bot to do this for me. Mainly on coinmarket but I have switched to cryptorush temporarily. The volume is minimal there, though.

I love how fast Coino is. It's such a great way to send funds quickly. I've used it a few times when I needed to send bitcoin. Send the coino as it's way faster, then convert to BTC! So nice having your funds sitting on the exchange a minute later. Rather than a half hour sometimes with BTC... Still surprises me sometimes how fast it is.

I don't get it, we just lost almost half of our hashrate in the last hour!

I hate those things... What will coinmarket.io do with these guys? Will they do something with her/him?

Btw guys, is this a good idea?

Buy a red fury (2.6gh/s, sha-256) --> mine some sha-256 coins --> exchange them into Coino

Is it profitable? I would buy it on http://bitcoin-world.net for 0.05 BTC.

Greetings, DDerTyp

Not at all, don't do it! You would be much better off taking that money and buying a cheap video card.

Some perspective: With my one 1.17 Mh/s rig (1170 kilo hashes/s) I usually get in the ballpark of 500-800 coins daily.
With 9x 0.333 Mh/s ASICminer USB Block Erupters (so 3.0 Gigahash/s total) I made about 0.05 BTC in around 2 months. I was very lucky to make my money back. 0.05 BTC is 2500 Coino at 0.00002 BTC. Less than a week mining scrypt coins net me over 2 months worth of SHA256 mining. no matter how you break it down that is bad. SHA256 mining is for the big guns and hobbyists now.

You will be lucky to make your 0.05 BTC back in a few months. Might be 6 months, or 9, or never with the current difficulty though...
