Hi !

Is there right now any working debit card with BTC / Dash ? (after Wavecrest closed their crypto VISA program)

In my view the best option now is  epayments. They work in conjuction with dsx exchange. So you can trade your BTC on dsx ,  transfer (free) USD/ EURO into  epayments wallet  and then use epayments debit card.

Dash and the Crypto Confidence Gap

The Motley Fool recently published, “Which Cryptocurrencies Have the Fastest Transaction Speeds?”. It focuses on the raw transactional volume capacity of various payment technologies, then uses it as a baseline metric for casting shade on the ability for cryptocurrencies to compete with existing transport layers. In particular, Visa. Articles like this one do a disservice by oversimplifying the situation. Ultimately, ability to push massive amounts of parallel transaction, though important, is hardly the most critical metric when comparing the technologies. This is largely a response to the article linked above and those with similar arguments.

Cryptocurrencies are forever being compared to other payment rails, and rightly so. Visa, Paypal, Venmo, etc. Some broad functional elements of these popular technologies are commonly compared: Usability, Suitability to use case, Integrability, Scalability, Speed.

Usability, as in simplicity of use and well rounded features, is an ongoing effort. Similarly with Integrability. There are countless efforts, but in the case of Dash, the Dash Evolution effort wants to address both of these with a significantly better user experience and a really well designed decentralized API (DAPI) that is well documented and includes a Software Development Kit (SDK).

Dash's Game Changer: Full Scope of the Alt36 Platform

In October, point-of-sale and business solution Alt Thirty Six announced their exclusive partnership with Dash. This partnership has been used as the poster child for Dash’s use case as a payments system without the limitations of the banking world, particularly since the platform’s first target market is the legal cannabis industry, which has traditionally been plagued by banking problems.

Dash Force News had the pleasure of speaking with Alt Thirty Six CEO Ken Ramirez on the details of what the platform aims to offer, as well as release dates and projected 2018 usage scope. Additionally, as a Dash Force News exclusive, Alt Thirty Six released one of their merchant promotional videos ahead of schedule.

It looks like good news, but it is how the market reacts to bad news. The entire market is seen watching over what will happen to btc. All the same, the course of it depends on where the rest go.

Just a small overview of the network status.

We have ~50% MNs running on the latest version (0.12.2.3), good job everyone who updated! However, 12.5% are still running on 0.12.2.2 and 21.5%(!) are still on 0.12.2.1  Sad

Not to add any drama but 0.12.2.2 fixed pretty critical Corebleed vulnerability which could crash your node by a specifically crafted set of transactions. While we don't see any evidence of a preparation of such an attack on the network, there is really no reason risking and running 0.12.2.1. 0.12.2.3 also fixed few stability issues and an issue with MN behavior which could lead to a situation where your MN could be banned in some (very rare) edge cases, so it worth updating from 0.12.2.2 as well IMO. Note, that NO start from your local wallet is required for this kind of update, all you need is to stop the daemon, replace dashd/dash-cli with a newer version and start the daemon again. Doing so in a timely manner (< 3h), you will NOT lose your place in the payment queue.

Speaking of the payment queue though, there are 185 masternodes that are NOT being paid atm (probably due to some mis-configuration), see the list https://pastebin.com/SM1n12RR. If you can find your node in this list, make sure that both local wallet AND remote node are running on the latest software and start your masternode from your local wallet. Note, that starting your 0.12.2.x masternode using 0.12.1.x wallet will NOT work, you MUST have 0.12.2.x local wallet for "start" command to work properly with 0.12.2.x node. EDIT: also make sure that your node is in sync and hasn't forked off.

And finally, there are also 31 MNs still running on 0.12.1.x.... Not really sure what to say to these people, probably just WAKE UP!! Cheesy

Thank Joel....great article.  It encapsulates everything I've thought...and the reason why I've backed DASH this whole time.  OG crypto ecosystem just doesn't get it.  That is why Bitcoin adoption has stopped growing and is in fact shrinking.  It is why all these other "crypto" projects wont succeed either.  They are built and run by fringe members of society like cyber punks and crypto anarchists that don't value the rest of society.  And thus will always fail in mass adoption because they can't relate.

It would be sad if dash gave up on anonymity and would allow mass surveilance on its users.
But that is what it has to do if it wants to get positive reviews from the western fake news media in the future.
However we already have such a coin its called "Ripple" thus theres no need for another one.

There are plenty coins with transparent blockchain, mainly bitcoin clones that get absolutely no attention at all.
Dash would not privacy would be Dash without fungibility, I am sure no one in the community can seriously consider that as a viable option.

Ben Swann Revives Truth in Media with Viral Video About Dash Sponsorship

Ben Swann has resurrected Truth in Media, announcing the project’s return with a viral video about Dash.

Former news anchor and independent investigative journalist Ben Swann rose to fame through his hard-hitting Reality Check news segments, which covered often underreported or controversial topics from an alternative perspective to that of major news organizations and pundits. The segment was taken down a year ago, along with all Swann’s social media accounts, following controversy surrounding some of his reporting. Now, thanks to an exclusive sponsorship by the Dash network through a treasury proposal, Reality Check will be returning. The redesigned Truth in Media website was taken back online yesterday, as well as all of Swann’s social media accounts, showcasing the new sponsorship.

Samsung Enters Cryptocurrency Mining Game, Potentially Decentralizing Ecosystem

Samsung has entered the cryptocurrency mining market, which could lead to decentralization of the space.

As originally reported by TechCrunch, electronics giant Samsung has confirmed that it has begun to manufacture chips for ASICs, specialize cryptocurrency mining machines. The introduction of a new heavyweight brings diversity into what is still an emerging market with large influence by just a few key players. In particular, it brings major competition to Bitmain, the Chinese mining giant that dominates much of cryptocurrency mining at present.

Dash Core should have fixed this stuff months ago.  It's not fair to keep nagging and inconveniencing MNOs every time Dash devs fail to notice yet another bug that should have been squished before shipping 0.12.1.

Bitcoin Core does a much better job of shipping very thoroughly tested, fairly bulletproof releases, and unlike Dash they don't even have to cannibalize PoW mining rewards to bribe full node operators with staking rewards.

It's pretty funny Masternodes all get paid the same, whether or not they upgrade in a timely manner or bother to vote on proposals.  Guess you have to keep the Ponzi growing no matter what.

Is Dash Core going to have a point release for every bug they fix?  Because there are 100s of bug fixes between Dash's ancient Bitcoin copypasta and the latest version of Bitcoin Core.

It's too bad Dash Core can't simply rebase to the latest Bitcoin code because they foolishly insist on not having RBF, segwit, Bech32, etc. but lack the technical skill needed to remove those modern features.

It's scam. I'll repeat one of my previous posts what to do with it:
We need to finally take down that Koinbi-scam.

Please do following three steps. We need to mark that Koinbi on browsers as phishing. It will prevent many visits there.
Probably it works the same as other Google services (like YT reports or in changes on maps). I mean more reports = higher priority = faster mark as scam by browser.

1. https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?tpl=mozilla&hl=en&url=https%3A%2F%2Fkoinbi.com%2F
2. Solve CAPTCHA
2. Copy and paste:

Interesting buy-order :

Lets see if its a fake buy-order or a real one.

Update : fake buy-order it seems

I wonder where rock bottom will be for Bitcoin on this downtrend, i have a feeling we are about to find out.
