As far as I understood the recent Evo demo video, Evo will enable stuff similar to Ethereum. Is there a thread somewhere that explains what that means? I could not find anything related on the Dash forums, but maybe I overlooked it.

FanDuel Follows “Bitcoin Bowl” With Dash-sponsored “Crypto Cup”

Community member DashRacer AKA Scott Farnsworth successfully passed a proposal to get FanDuel to drop Bitcoin in favor of Dash in a huge win for the smaller digital currency. Earlier this year, FanDuel hosted a contest called the “Bitcoin Bowl” during the NFL Playoffs, in which the winner was awarded 1 BTC. Following this Bitcoin Bowl, DashRacer successfully negotiated with FanDuel and secured budget funding for a Dash-denominated contest centering around the NBA Finals. The contest is called the “Crypto Cup” and began February 22 with both a “free” and “paid” tier. The first place winner in the “free” category will win 2 DASH, while the winner of the paid category will win 15 DASH.

FanDuel has 75 million customers per month, which is a huge level of exposure for Dash. On the contest’s webpage, FanDuel explains what Dash is and provides links to Dash mobile wallets on both the App Store and Google Play Store. Millions of people who might know little about crypto, and even less about Dash, are getting their first exposure to the digital currency.

Seoul, South Korea Aims To Launch Its Own Cryptocurrency

Seoul’s Mayor, Park Won-soon, said that he wants to launch ‘S-Coin’ to fund public welfare projects and/or pay private contractors.

Park elaborated that “Seoul is one of the cities that are leading the Fourth Industrial Revolution” and that it is “natural (for the city) to study and invest in new technologies such as blockchain.” Park did not give specifics on the plan and it should be noted that he is up for reelection as Mayor in June of this year. However, he did say that this is part of the city’s “Blockchain master plan”, which intends to publish clear blockchain and cryptocurrency rules, regulations, and to cultivate a blossoming blockchain economy.

The United Colors of Benetton branch in Lithuania announced the launch of reception of bitcoin and other digital currencies as a means of payment in branded brand stores in the country. In the future, they plan to make this option available in their stores around the world.

The obvious way to change it is for more exchanges to allow direct dash to fiat and fiat to dash sales.

How about kraken.com?

You wouldn't believe how damn hard it is to get a verified account. I've spent over four hours on it today, and I still can't deposit fiat.  The difficulty of buying Dash is a major impediment to adoption.

But then again what would happen if regulations come in? This is something frightening to me even though many ICO projects are extremely interesting and worth investing in. In Switzerland for example it became compulsory to have a KYC process in place which makes the buying of ICOs a bit more complicated and taking longer.

Google to Remove Chrome Extensions that Mine Cryptocurrencies

Google stated on their Chromium blog that they will no longer allow any new extensions that mine cryptocurrency and will remove all those already on the platform by June.

Google previously has allowed “cryptocurrency mining in extensions as long as it is the extension’s single purpose, and the user is adequately informed about the mining behavior.” Google has decided to nix the privilege for everyone since they said that “90% of all extensions with mining scripts” that were uploaded to the Chrome Web Stored failed to follow these policies. Such as SafeBrowse that claimed to be a “protect browsing” extension, but actually maliciously mined Monero without informing its 140,000 users.

Google said that they will still allow extensions with blockchain related programs other than mining. Google’s actions follow that of itself banning cryptocurrency related ads, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat, and MailChimp.
