It is already taking a long time for Mr Icebreaker to come and celebrate that Monero has overtaken Dash in Coinmarketcap.
Congratulations to Dash masternode holders, new ATH
Why is more locked away coins ( over 50%!) a celebration? it demonstrates the confidence of the holders, and strengthens the network. Everything is being prepared perfectly for the moment in which evolution becomes a reality. A currency that accumulates to obtain future returns shows that its growth expectations are enormous. No other currency can say the same. It could also soften the price fluctuations somewhat, making easier for Dash to function as a useable (crypto) currency for merchants and users. Also the combined masternode collateral (over 50% of circulating supply) is not exactly locked away as farfiman mentions, it should be seen as "reserved" which at any time can get transferred to an exchange to be sold. Of course the rewards that masternode owners get from running a masternode (8.15% Dash annual), provides a strong motivation to just hold them. And last but not least : an increase in the number of active masternodes = an increase in longterm investors

Masternodes are a nice thing for people who can afford it or bought it really cheap, but for the average small investor I don't see any advantage in Dash. Amanda left Dash in 2017, the road map is out of time, best time to sell overpriced Dash now.

Masternodes are a nice thing for people who can afford it or bought it really cheap, but for the average small investor I don't see any advantage in Dash. I don't really agree with this appraisal. Dash continues to be one of the best stores of value for the "average small investor" on offer. That's where the "advantage" lies. The small investor can invest any amount in masternodes they like without requiring to hold the full masternode collateral. On top of that, Dash's marketcap growth has mainly come from exchange rate rather than coin supply supply growth over the last few years. This means that the marketcap growth is directly felt by an "average small investor" with a static holding. Compare that with other coins like (say) Monero where only a fraction of the marketcap growth is transmitted to individual holders relatively. Finally, Dash is an original in its space and remains largely unchallenged amongst the pure monetary cryptos of which there are only around 5 in the top 20 ranking marketcap assets. In particular it: • inherits bitcoin's codebase • supports a service tier protocol independently of the mining protocol • that in turn allows it to perform in realtime as opposed to blocktime and so can be used for online payments • it also allows it to support full anonymity without ditching the transparent blockchain (the property that turns crypto form "just numbers" into "money") • and will allow the network as a whole to function as a decentralised API to provide "Stripe" like levels of embedded accessibility to client apps Here you go:

Good idea, sell your Dash, and see how strong hands accumulate cheap coins that will provide good returns for years to come. those masternodos in ATH are the evident proof. Dash will scale TPS, speed, security, anonymity, it will be adopted, evolution will be a legacy, and you will remember the day you gave your dash to someone smarter than you, who knew that good business does not need to hurry. a greeting

Marshall Islands To Offer their Own Cryptocurrency As Legal Tender The Marshall Islands, located in the Pacific, will offer their own cryptocurrency called Sovereign (SOV), which has been approved by the country’s parliament to be circulated as legal tender along side the US dollar.
The country’s president, Hilda C. Heine, said this “is another step of manifesting our national liberty.” David Paul, minister-in-assistance to the president, admitted that cryptocurrencies are “the way of the future” and that “as a country, we reserve the right to issue a currency in whatever form it is, whether in digital or fiat form.” The Sovereign will total 24 million coins in honor of the country’s 24 municipalities and be released through an ICO and presale at a to be determined date. The raised funds will go towards the Marshall Islands Trust Fund that benefits climate change efforts, green energy, healthcare for those still affected by the U.S. nuclear tests, and education.

Independent Journalist Ben Swann: Cryptocurrency Is Backed by “Radical Transparency” According to independent journalist star Ben Swann, cryptocurrency is not valueless, but is backed by radical transparency.
In a six-minute video for his Reality Check segment, Swann went over the key criticism of cryptocurrency by detractors: that it has no inherent value, that is isn’t “backed by” anything such as precious metals. He explained in detail how blockchain technology is instead backed by radical transparency, as each and every movement of the network is viewable by the general public, from its supply, all its transactions, transaction fees, and more. Because of this, public blockchain-based cryptocurrencies garner much more trust than an opaque network such as that of a bank, or precious metal supplies that may be subject to manipulation and dishonesty. On Facebook, where the video has gotten the most attentions so far, it has reached nearly 50,000 views.Read more: https://www.dashforcenews.com/independent-journalist-ben-swann-cryptocurrency-backed-radical-transparency/

Dash News Weekly Roundup - March 3, 2018 Dash now available on four new trading platforms
Another three cryptocurrency exchanges announced Dash trading as of this week, giving Dash another boost in its already incredibly successful first quarter. These three exchanges are listed from highest to lowest in terms of their daily trade volume: ACX.io based in Australia, SouthXChange in Argentina, and Cryptowolf.eu in Greece. Dash is also now supported by deVere Crypto, an app that allows users to purchase and trade cryptocurrencies.
DAO-funded journalist Ben Swann explains cryptocurrency valuation
On Friday, journalist and freethinker Ben Swann posted a new segment of Reality Check in which he explains the value proposition behind cryptocurrencies. This segment included a brief history of the commodities/currencies that societies have traditionally used to store value (gold, silver, fiat), and how Dash and other cryptocurrencies are upending traditional ideas of value through the concept of ‘radical transparency’. Swann specifically mentioned features such as Dash’s PrivateSend and auditable transactions as advantages that blockchain-based cryptocurrencies have over traditional financial systems.

Is information about progress on evolution available somewhere ?
So far i know Dash Evolution V1 is still scheduled for this summer. The Dashpay wallet is worked on seperately, and should be launched soon(ish) I think the order of release will be : * v0.12.3 for the Dash core wallet (full blockchain needed) * DashPay wallet (light spv wallet, no full blockchain needed) * Dash Evolution V1 (Decentralized API, DashDrive implementation, userfriendly wallet, integration with phone apps, no full blockchain needed) They are working on updating the roadmap to better reflect this, once we have an updated roadmap things should become more clear. The current (outdated) roadmap version 2.2 can be found here : https://github.com/dashpay/dash-roadmap

Dash is one of the top and promising coins. A good choice for buying in my opinion. Confidently holds its price and with the frequency jumps up. The portfolio is worthy to be waiting for new heights

There isnt some blog or tread on the dash forum where they update on the progress of evolution? I coundt find any and I almost never see any articles about in on dash force news. I understand that they wont tell us the details bc of competition. Although it would be nice to read something about the progress since its such a huge operation thats been going on for a long time now and will be for a long time. Maybe im looking in the wrong places ?

I just like the vision of Dash and how steady the token has been, I think other top token should look at this model and learn how to grow the value of a coin both from a management and adoption perspective.

How Dash Can Revolutionize Sports, Art, and Charity Before breaking into the budding cryptocurrency industry, I had a decade-long professional career in the nonprofit world, mostly focused around educational and ideological organizations. Most of my time there was spent in fundraising, acting as the go-between for donors seeking to do good, and those actually doing the good. Over time I was struck by the oddness and inefficiency of my job description, the person that actually makes the money and enables the good to be done, taking up considerable resources just trying to get the funds so that a portion could arrive at their final destination.
Fundraisers and development departments are a crucial part of the present nonprofit system, however I became interested in how this setup could be revolutionized to cut out the middlemen as much as possible, and this led me to cryptocurrency. I came to realize that Dash in particular had a lot of promise for absolutely upending the world of donation- or promotion-based activities where the producer of the social good customers want can’t effectively self-fund.

My main takeaway from 2017 is that Dash dropped out of the Top 10 on CMC (surpassed by several projects in terms of value, including LTC and now even XMR).
This year might very well be a decisive year for Dash's ambition.
