The Narcissism of Small Differences Cryptocurrencies currently have many audiences. The initial audience included folks (this author is a member) that envisioned a currency with the same world-changing potential as the internet and open source. As many cryptos rose in value, they quickly caught the eye of those looking for speculative appreciation of value, ideologies be damned. As the news cycle caught on, the mainstream audience started to pay attention. Their perception of cryptocurrencies are all over the place, but certainly most are taking a more tentative approach.
This added attention has also given the non-nerd crowd a peek behind the curtain unveiling the communities surrounding the cryptocurrencies. And it’s not a pretty picture. There is so much infighting, sniping, FUD, and of course trolling. So much trolling. Some banter manifests as real debate and voices of concern. A lot is steeped in ideology. Often discussions are truly passionate. But quite a bit has malicious intent, or is linked pure manipulative greed. And all of this is padded with heaps of inane trolling. Most of it is purely juvenile.
What so many people don’t understand is that we are really one community. But one community that has splintered into many factions. Factions that ultimately weaken the whole community.
Of the many communities, the granddaddy of them all is the Bitcoin community. The legendary disagreements in that community almost all surround the scaling debate(s) and to a lessor extent maybe anonymity. The debate is still ongoing and has resulted in relegating Bitcoin (for now) to being Gold 2.0 and spinning off a number of forks and making a lot more space for the many so-called “altcoins”.

Wells Fargo’s Malfeasance Makes Case for Decentralized and Trustless Bank Alternative Wells Fargo is being sued by a former employee who alleges that Wells Fargo deliberately choose to shut down the accounts of those whom complained of fraud rather than properly investigate claims “under the pretext of a ‘business decision'”.
Matthew Valles is the former employee bringing suit and also claims that he was wrongfully “fired in retaliation for his complaints about ‘hundreds’ of mishandled cases”. A bank is required by law to investigate customers’ claims of fraud, but Valles alleges that there was an “internal culture whose ‘directive’ was to ‘meet Wells Fargo’s metrics at all costs'”. These actions left customers having to absorb the costs of fraud themselves rather than the bank.
This accusation adds to Wells Fargo’s previous misbehavior of opening accounts for customers without their permission. Wells Fargo had to pay $110 million USD in a class action lawsuit and $185 million USD to the federal and Californian governments. They were also recently punished by the Federal Reserve with sanctions that restrict their growth until Wells Fargo fixes their problems.

recycled mumbo jumbo panic posting I ran that post through the BCT psycho-translate service in opprobrious sockpuppet mode and this came out: • Ouch • Dash approaching the base of its trading channel about to reverse up • Monero at full stretch about to reverse down coz... • ...dying - blockchain bloat taking over the planet and nobody can breath, let alone sync • wallet barely works and is turning my PC into a hovercraft • community bouncing off the walls cos centralised, only-useable-wallet won't give them their MoneroV • the "all it had going for it" privacy algo torpedoed by fork • ADA collapse means 6th place is within a 50% reach for Dash. Easily achievable given it's at maximum compression • better resume Dashthread posting + call in bedroom sockpuppet reinforcements + "don't shoot the messenger" quotes Hey - I'm just the "messenger" here. Don't shoot

FirstCryptoETF to Set up Dash Masternode A new token, which calls itself FirstCryptoETF, will be setting up a Dash Masternode and distribute rewards as “dividends” to token holders.
The new token will pay the 1000 Dash collateral, currently valued at a little under $500,000 USD, to set up a Dash Masternode. Dash Masternodes get 45% of the mining rewards, which is around 2 Dash per Masternode each week. The ownership of a Dash Masternode will also give FirstCryptoETF the ability to have 1 vote in treasury proposals.
Peter Vrábel, CEO of FirstCryptoETF, describes the “rewards from the mining fees will be something like a dividend for token holders,” and a “great way to add additional value to the Strategy Index.” The Dash investment will join the nine other cryptocurrencies in their portfolio: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Ripple, Litecoin, Ethereum Classic, Lisk, Monero, and Zcash. FirstCryptoETF pledges to be audited by one of the big four accounting firms to verify the status of the portfolio. According to the Whitepaper, they will also charge a 2% per annum fee pro-rated to the time a user held the token along with offering an exchange platform and physical debit card to facilitate usage of the token.

"We are just fools. We insanely believe that we can replace one politician with another and something will really change. The ONLY possible way to achieve change is to change the very system of how government functions. Until we are prepared to do that, suck it up for your future belongs to the madness and corruption of politicians." Martin Armstrong

Dash News Weekly Roundup – March 10, 2018 PorcFest now partnered with Dash
The Porcupine Freedom Festival is the flagship event held by the Free State Project in New Hampshire, with a projected attendance of 1,500. A successful treasury proposal that passed late last month will provide funding for a partnership between Dash and the Free State Project. Some of the benefits of this partnership will be the creation of a full Dash economy and numerous speaking slots, with Ben Swann giving the keynote address. There will also be a Dash giveaway and free wallet setup for attendees of the conference.
Dash represented at the IBC
The International Blockchain Summit is a well-known blockchain conference that met in Moscow on March 1st. Dash was well-represented at this event, thanks to a manned information booth and a speech/presentation given by Dash representative Oleg Karimov. The booth and speech were both the result of a successful treasury proposal awarded to the Belarusian Territory of Dash team, who also were behind the Dash booth at the Blockchain Conference St. Petersburg.
