I'd rather see off topic coins talked about than politics in here, cmon guys there's enough garbage in the thread already.
Disagreed. This whole forum is designed to be off topic. Lets rather talk about politics than shitcoins.

Let's go off topic and forecast the Bitcoin price Tongue Roll Eyes Shocked

Price may around this level all of 2015 and only the block halving in 2016 will cause it to increase Roll Eyes

Looking at the network hashpower, it looks like all the 1watt and 1.2watt mining equipment (some may be farms) is still functional, even when it is not switched on for mining Shocked

Whenever, the BTC prices goes above $220 these farms and equipment are switched on - mine some BTC and immediately convert it into Fiat Currency, which causes the price to head back downwards below $219.

Therefore, there is still 362PTHs network hashpower, but it is only switched off when BTC is below certain price benchmarks.

Around 362PTHs on around $245 plus
Around 310 PTHs on around $220 plus
Around 250 PTHs on around $200 plus

Consequently, network difficulty will have to be held around 41500000000 right up to the block halving in mid 2016  Shocked

Obviously, when the block reward is halved mid 2016, the 1watt and 1.2watt mining equipment will need BTC price of $400 before being switched on, so price will definitely climb alot  Grin Wink

I may be misunderstanding this article Roll Eyes http://www.coindesk.com/perkins-coie-bitcoin-can-learn-real-estate-law/
but it looks like one more reason the fungability of DRK makes it superior to BTC. Notice that the cure proposed for the problem is an appeal to government to reclassify BTC under the UCC...

As usual; the cure for a problem generated by regulation, is more regulation. Yet one more piece of evidence that Satoshi's baton has been passed to DRK.

From the article:
Summary
Under the current Bitcoin ecosystem, parties lack information regarding existing security interests. This circumstance leaves acquirers of bitcoins with the risk that their bitcoins may be subject to security interests that diminish or eliminate the economic value of the bitcoins to owners.

For bitcoins to become useful in significant commercial transactions, the present uncertainties regarding existing security interests must be removed. These uncertainties not only affect the ability of the acquirer to be certain it is receiving the value it bargained for, but also greatly diminishes the ability of the acquirer to finance such investments.

The Article 8 structure provides the solution for these deficiencies. It is a system that has worked well for securities and is flexible enough to do the same for bitcoins.

I think I can simplify it further...  They're saying "Let's put a lein on that pile of un-traceable cash you have in your mattress."   Hmm.. how does that work exactly?  What the author is pretending not to understand is that Bitcoin is already cash.  (And so is DRK, which can add even more fungibility when BTC is in question).

The author of this article is either really dumb, or is deliberately trying to inhibit Bitcoin's success.  My guess is the latter is true.

----

On a similar note, who else is sick of articles touting "blockchain technology" as the "real innovation" or "the real takeaway from Bitcoin"?    It is quite obvious to me that this is a far-reaching anti-bitcoin campaign, probably started by the incumbent bankers who forsee their eventual demise at the hands of...well...hands (when people start holding their own money themselves).  They don't want people to realize that the bitcoin itself has value.  They want Joe Shmoe to think Bitcoin is a payment method or a technology or something, when in fact it is a persistent fact of nature like rocks or dirt.  Bitcoin is not "a technology" which gets outdated. It just exists and you can trade them around very easily. Dark is that way too, and goes one step further and adds anonymity to ensure fungibility.

Saying things like "the real innovation is not bitcoin itself, but blockchain technology" is like saying "the real innovation is not gold itself, but atoms!"  "Think of the infinite possibilities with atomic technology! (and please, stop thinking about gold or anything else that your instincts tell you is real and un-fakeable... keep thinking about my theoritical complicated economic bullshit and continue to use my funny-money)."

What most don't seem to recognize is that the blockchain IS bitcoin and vice versa. You can't separate it.  Oh, so you want to have a centralized ledger?  Call it what you want, but it is not "block chain technology like bitcoin", because only Bitcoin, Darkcoin and other true PoW coins have (are) a blockchain.

We need to crack this adoption shit.

I can't believe we can't do that.

I'm behind reading as usual, so this announcement is out of context of what ya'all are talking about.... but....

I just finally joined the foundation.  I realized it would only get harder and harder to part with the dark as the price goes up and after hearing on that excellent interview here: https://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/post/beyond-bitcoin-26-darkcoin with Fernando and Evan, that they hadn't raised as much as they'd hoped, I decided to sh*t and get off the pot.

Anyway, um... thought I'd turn this into a call for anyone thinking of joining the foundation, to maybe do so now before it ends up costing double or worse 'cause the coin may finally be on the rise for good?

Yes I have plenty of posts deleted.  Normally the Shojayxt posts and anything critical of LTC...

I did have a post deleted when I responded to IceBreaker, he was trying to push PaycoinDark and I said jokingly "Yo, don't PaycoinDark me bro..." and it got deleted...

I guess certain people are protected by the mods...

The worlds first Pay Per Mod model?  Wink

Ha!

How long before postings have some sort of "mod protect" fee that can be added (a bit like the transaction fee in crypto) where your post will have more resistance to being deleted and you'll be offered levels of "protection" (you know, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum.....at Platinum you can say anything about anyone).

I reckon it's coming soon!

LOL.  Just let the mods know your a LTC bag holder... And anything is possible. Hahaha.

LOL to both you  Grin

Pretty cool article on cnn money explaining how bitcoin isn't anonymous to the masses:

"Bitcoin fallacy led to Silk Road founder's conviction"

"Federal prosecutors showed that millions of dollars in Bitcoin payments were traced from Silk Road back to Ulbricht's personal laptop -- until just before his arrest.
How was that possible? Here's a mini crash course in Bitcoin."

"It seems anonymous at first -- but only if you keep your wallet address secret. If that's connected to your name, the whole world knows every transaction you've ever made."

The latest shift for the Darkcoin multipool paid out over 9 DRK from exchanged alts.

The new multipool is now running full steam so now all my pool's hash rates are combined and already showing great results and payments are flowing. This is increasing and stabilizing the profitability

Miners that use X11, get paid DRK above and beyond what I mention here. This is because when we find a DRK block, you instantly get allocated your DRK share and it gets paid within a few hours of a block maturing. You don't need to wait for any exchanging so you'll get more frequent DRK payments as more DRK blocks are found.

Any problems, please PM as I may miss your post.

Cheers!

ZPOOL - the miners multipool! Support We pay 10 FLUX Parallel Assets (PA) directly to block rewards! Get paid more and faster. No PA fee's or waiting around for them, paid instantly on every block found!

Using Darksend, one Darksend transaction can be splitter into multiple transactions. I think it can make Darkcoin's blockchain growing very quickly.

Is there any solution for it? I have a very bad experience with Bitcoin because loading the full Bitcoin's blockchain take a lot of time.

The thing is, only a small percentage of Darkcoin transactions are Darksend transactions. The vast majority are normal Bitcoin-like transactions. The bloating problem is really non-existent. No need to worry about that!

This is a problem that will hit any coin if it succeeds in making it to the mainstream. There is stuff that can be researched (and implemented if applicable) in the future. The blockchain could be pruned using technologies the Bitcoin researchers will come up with (because Darkcoin is Bitcoin based), mini-blockchain could be used, and I even saw a Darkcoin dev team member on the IRC the other night talking about the possibility of using the masternode network to run their own side chain that compresses the main chain blocks or something to that nature.
