I've invested in both SPR and DRK. I love Dark. But I also like the simplicity of how the masternodes can be easily setup with spread and also the masternode GUI in spread.  That Mr.Spread guy has some pretty good ideas.

I just signed up at https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/darkcoin/ as fuzzyducky

You can safely merge Dutch, Dutch (Netherlands) and Dutch (Belgium) into one. Its alike. Any Belgian here to protest to this?  Grin

   -- a farm of 50-60 gtx cards

In the good old times [™] farms this size were quite common to mine Litecoin, even poor crowning had one.

Ever wondered were all those GPUs live today?

I meant brand-spanking new GTX 980's at $650/pop to reach that number, not 750ti's. My guess is it would take over 200 750's to do this?...  Shocked

Who'd be nuts enough to do this @ DRK/USD $1.60?

Being a Greek I always found Varoufakis to be full of shit (even a puppet of the Elite that plays controlled opposition role) - and I'm from the "anti-memorandum / anti-troika" group so to speak.

The reason is that his agenda is more pro-european than pro-greek. He is pro-euro (the currency) in a degree that is disgusting. Greece needs to have a sovereign currency. The euro and the euro-policies have buried us alive. His "no" to the troika this afternoon is actually a no to the low-level employees and beaurocrats that were checking in on the government progress. He said he is committed to the ecb, imf and eu and keeping government surpluses running though.

By the way he dislikes bitcoin, its apolitical nature and he has drawn parallels to tulip mania. That's another reason why he is full of shit.

Funny how to everyone outside of a particular country, their politicians look like saviours whereas to their own country people they are hated.

I actually thought this was a genuine piece of progress. So you're saying it's all just posturing ? They're really full of B.S. and the rejection of the bailout isn't genuine ?

If so, that is depressing as f*ck.

B.T.W. I completely agree with you on Greece just launching its own currency. That's what I was hoping they would end up doing.

We are not getting the triple top I was anticipating earlier.

The 4-hour Darkcoin / BTC Moving Average Convergence Divergence has definitely broken wide again to the upside.

So has the 6-hour...

And the twelve hour is indicating that it's completed its correction - now crossing to the upside with a first green bar....

And...the longest range of all, the 1 week chart also diverging wider....NOTE ! First green bars since last July  Cool

What all that means is that all the long term corrections have been worked through and there is now no impediment to a positive long term revaluation for Darkcoin to "price in" the last 6 month's development.

oblox - I realise you're trying to make a practical point which is undeniable.

However, before you can spend "any" money at all, it has to have some value. Worst case - you just change it for another currency and pay a couple of points for the exchange (if you happen to be rich enough to feel like venturing outside of your borders).

The fact is, as AlexGR correctly points out, the Euro has bulldozed an entire generation of european youth and sacrificed them at the 'altar' of common currency. That is not a price worth paying.

Greece is a low latitude Mediterranean country with a coastline. What that means is that they would normally have no problem in feeding and housing themselves. The fact that they can't even do that more than 2000 years on from the time of the Greek and Roman empires is testament to the scam that is known as the "European Union".

That scam is no more than a scaled up market for highly leveraged debt into which the Mediterranean countries - otherwise abundantly self sufficient - have been trapped. Characterising it as "a handy way to avoid currency exchange" in no way does justice to it.

The only way these countries will be able to prize themselves free from the trap is by ordinary people changing their patterns of behaviour to the extent that it becomes impossible to centralise power into a minority executive. I have always seen crypto as a huge tool in that process because it is a "creeping" growth, just as the world wide web was. It won't be a big sledgehammer event - people will just wake up one day to find themselves using crypto "quite alot" and won't even remember how they got there.

Put it this way, can you remember when you made your first airline booking on the world wide web ? I cant. But I can sure remember a time when the world wide web didn't exist.

Bump, we need reviewers for Dutch (100%), German (100%) and Russian (100%).
Translations almost finished, go, go, go: Italian (96%), Protuguese (76%), Vietnamese (68%) and French (58%).
I wonder why there are no translators for Polish (0%), Czech (0%), Chinese (0%), Arabic (0%) or Turkish (0%) yet?

who said that?
1+1 for polish translation
awaiting recquest confirmation Wink

Spreadcoin is testing Instant X ---- http://spreadcointalk.org/index.php?topic=37.msg908#msg908

I don't know about you guys but I think it's really disrespectful of them to take it from Darkcoin before Darkcoin has implemented it fully.  Evan's work deserves more respect.  Are they violating any sort of license we can enforce?

Don't worry about it, having our own altcoins is actually very flattering, it means others think our model and technology is valuable and would like to emulate it. We walk our own path and worry about doing the best job we can in every aspect of this project and we will have our place regardless of what anybody else does or not.

What we are investing in DRK is not about a particular current set of features. It is about a vision to constantly generate value for users and a team and infrastructure that can execute that vision. Darkcoin is about constant innovation and bringing crypto closer to regular people. To achieve this vision many things come into play development, community, investors, reputation, public awareness, timing, among many other factors.

You need to inspire people who want to contribute freely of their time to help build that vision and that is achieved with integrity and a proven track record. You need a group of folks are in it for more than just financial gain. If we were to hire a staff like the one we have in our technical development team and the one we have on our ambassador group and promotion team we would need to spend a lot of money on payroll alone, yet all these people give freely of their time to work on something they believe in. It is really inspiring and you can't copy that.

Thanks for the reassurance.  I have enough invested in Darkcoin at this point where I feel a little on edge when I see potential competition.  I just need talked down from the cliff once in awhile!

Well said! DRK is by far my favorite coin, and I think it's strong enough to weather any competition. That's why I'm invested in dozens of other coins - including SPR - and they sometimes do well, sometimes not, but I never worry about DRK. All it does is win, win, win no matter what  Cool
