I hope it will be actively used in some cases (in addition to official version).

It isn’t «fake news» - just a one more «landing page» and way to more effectively grab attention of audience and get more effective response.

Last week, an unknown actor sent a deluge of spam that left bitcoin's nodes – the clients that store and relay transactions – with upwards
of 88,000, or 1GB worth, waiting in their collective memory pool.

Today, despite the memory pool returning to normal (around 4MB at press time) and Core developer Jeff Garzik implementing a 'quick fix' for operators,
the total number of reachable nodes – 5,030 – remains 16% lower than before the 'attack'.

Omfg, Dash has more nodes that BTC now ^^ Have a BTC node on a fairly slow VPS and was having to restart the thing daily, sometimes 3 or 4 times :/

ok, so basically we need the liquidity providers because the mixing in the nodes isn't very efficient? Why not just give every node the possibility to have mixing transactions pass through his node? that would make mixing faster I guess?

no. mixing requires three participants. (last I checked)

liquidity providers are just stand-ins in case there aren't two other people mixing at the time you need other participants.

Core group receive it cheaply. Evan, core team should have many coins to come out ahead.

Damn straight it is!  Great thing about the Internet is we can record all the silliness that the trolls spew in their comments....so we can remind them later how foolish they were.   Now that everyone is proudly telling you that there was an instamine and it was a good thing.   Something that Should have been done by all cryptos in hind sight... How else were they planning to keep people working in the code full time. I suppose everyone was to donate all their time and knowledge for the great good of all the arm chair crypto heads.  And where the hell did this BS of instamine being negative come from anyway?!?  How the hell do crypto heads think the bills and costs of development going to come from, charity?!? Silly trolls we are creating money not a socialist welfare state.
